I believe that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet of Allah.

If you are becoming Shia then it may be better to say the Shahada like this: I believe that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is his prophet, and that Ali (as) is his wali ;)

You asked us what you need to change your beliefs, not why one should become Shii as opposed to something else. It is assumed that you know what the differences are between the Shii school and the other schools.

To the OP, what exactly do you believe currently, that you feel Shiism fills the void in your heart?

because i admire khumaini and nasrullah and they are shia so i am interested in becoming a shia. now tell me your beliefs and what are the main difference between shai and sunni.

Well, there are different forms of Shiism, just as there are different kinds of Sunnis. The common trait we all share though is that we believe that after the Prophet Muhammad, Ali (as) was the best, most capable, and most knowledgeable leader of the Ummah as well as the one appointed, by divine right, to lead and guide the Ummah politically and religiously by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) himself. Which in turn was the will of God as well. This divine right was then passed through certain members of Ali's descendants. That is the basic idea.

Brother please tell us of your background etc, how did you come across to deciding you want to be a shi'a?

I have done my master in economics, mostly i am very impressed by both of the above, that is why i am too much interested to live the rest of my life as a shia, i am also a web developer and web designer so that i could do something more in this field for shia religion.

MashaAllah bro!

InshaAllah you find the answers you seek for.

Simply we, shi'a believe in the succesion of imam Ali (as), known as the 4th calipha to sunni's, which the prophet (pbuh) explicitly made clear. This is the 'wilayat' of Ali (as). We reject the caliphate of the first 3 due to it being imam Ali's (as) right as he was chosen by GOD and not the PEOPLE. Henceforth we don't really like abu bakr and co much..

Imamate is the main difference, which you must understand completely before accepting shi'aism - http://www.al-islam.org/imamate/1.htm Have a little read here inshaAllah it will be beneficial. Now that in it's simplest terms is a shi'a I guess.

We don't accept their authority. Different Shia may hold varying degrees of animosity and dislike of them personally, but the general idea amongst the Shia is that they're authority is not binding on us, we disassociate ourselves from them.

Well the first steps really deal with your inner self. You need to ask yourself if you really have a love for Ahlul Bayt and an earnest desire to serve God only through them as the only way to God is through Ahlul Bayt, particularly Ali who is the gate to the city of knowledge, who is Muhammad (pbuh). That is the first step of course. Shiism is not a Khomeini or Nasrallah fanclub. lol

All branches of Islam seek to follow the Quran (with its correct explanation) along with the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh).

Sunnis follow the Quran and Sunnah through the companions of the Prophet (pbuh).

Shias follow the Quran and Sunnah through the family of the Prophet (like he told us to do). We believe his successor was Imam Ali (as) and a further 11 Imams followed him. We believe the Imams (as) are chosen by God as no one has the right to choose an Islamic leader on Earth. We believe the 12th Imam (as) is alive and we waiting for his return so that he cleanses the world from injustice and corruption.

These might seem like simple differences at first, but this branches into hundreds of other differences. Hence, we differ a lot in Islamic law, theology, ethics and other principles.

If you believe that Imam Ali (as) is the rightful successor and that the way to God is through the Ahlulbayt (as) (the Prophet, his daughter and the 12 Imams), then you are a Shia.

Don't forget that the Ahlul Bayt also includes non blood relatives of Muhammad (as) such as Salman al-Farsi and Bilal ibn Rabah, peace be upon them both. Also, it is not that we don't follow the companions, but that we follow the rightly guided ones, those who accepted the authority of Ahlul Bayt as carrying on the religious mission of Muhammad (pbuh) as he intended it.

Brother when referring to AhlulBayt (as) we mostly mean the Masoomen and only a Masoom can be followed.

Yes, but Salman Farsi and Bilal, peace be upon them, are still Ahlul Bayt, and they in no way went against the Masoomen, so to follow them is to follow Masoomen.

So, which shrine of the Shias is your next target to blow up? Be sure that the fuse on the bombs strapped to your chest isn't broken, as Salafi pigs can be really clumsy in those regards.

If you feel you don't have the heart to blow us up, go back to worshiping Umar and your goddess Aisha. Thanks. ^_^

Dear Friends!

I want to become a shia, What I have to do for converting to shia religion? what should stop believing and what should i start believing?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

You should read history.

You should know that imam Ali (as) is the first successor after the Prophet (pbuh) and not Abu Bakr.

Just put more energy in reading and research an Quran and hadith.

Accept the wilayah of ali (as) and accept the ahlulbayt (as) as your guides. That is what you need to do. Read history and read up on imamate brother, read up on the 'contraversies' of the caliphs as well. InshaAllah you will be guided.

There's nothing authentic about that from Shi'ite literature is there?...

get whip beating your back until u bleed

do taqiyyah

do mutah

worship graves

call on 12 iman instead of god

then ur officially shia dude looool

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY ALL THESE, CAN YOU EXPLAIN EVERY OF THEM BRIEFLY?

you people are totally confusing me, I have already asked you that I just love shias because of Khumaini and his leadership. the rest i dont know about them, I am going to search about them, but most of the terminologies are out of understanding, that is why i have joined this forum to know about them, and i have asked you people to tell me everything step by step.

For example, what should i do first? when i do that then tell me the second step, i just want to be a shia on every cost, dont teach me what shias are, just tell me that what should i do? and please stepwise.
