Iran inaugurated Saturday the first conference on the Islamic Awakening, which over 700 intellects and scholars from 80 countries took part in.

The conference that was held in Tehran will continue for two days and will include the discussion of five main topics that are, the basics and concepts of the Islamic awakening, the roles that influential people played in it, an introduction to the movements that had roles in this awakening, a study on the threats that face the Islamic awakening, and closing its ranks.

Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei was the first to deliver a speech in the conference, in which he assured that this Islamic development cannot be separated from its historical roots, and that it was not a wave that suddenly erupted.

Imam Khamenei said that “what united us is the Islamic awakening… the uprising and awareness that is spreading in the Islamic nation, which led to revolts in the region.”

His Eminence talked about three main points that are the revolutions themselves, the dangers standing in their way, and steps to deal with them, and indicated that all the attempts by the West to make the revolutions just temporal movements are useless, reassuring that the acts against Iraq and Afghanistan where an introduction to the Islamic uprising against arrogance.

Imam Khamenei further assured that the major element in these revolutions was its popularity and the permanent effective presence in the field of work and jihad, indicating that determination that was present in the Egyptian, Tunisian and Yemeni people will follow the same track in Bahrain, and that the legitimacy of these revolutions was the major element in forming their identity.

Imam Khamenei reminded that what Iran witnessed in the 70s was a great revolution that was similar to the victory of the blood over the sword, and formed a firm establishment of the Islamic system, and pointed out that "we have always expected that Egypt will be the first to revolt, due to our knowledge about Egypt's wide jihadi and cultural history, and the great and historic characters that it had produced."

In parallel, his Eminence said that the Eastern camp has collapsed, the Western one was trying stay firm, and the Islamic awakening is the one that will triumph.

He considered that any fear from the United States and the West is a danger that must be treated and confronted , and should not be present in the hearts of the youth in the Islamic world… “This generation in the Islamic countries has the capability to rise and confront, something that we should be proud of.”

“It is possible to overpower all these obstacles, by relying on Allah and having determination and courage,” Imam Khamenei added, emphasizing that “the slogans of the Islamic revolutions should stress on independence, dignity, and rejection to the Zionist entity… the goals of the Islamic awakening do not suit the Western, and the Zionist entity’s interests.”

As for the situation in Libya, Imam Khamenei said that the American and Western intervention in Libya had caused the death of many and the destruction of infrastructures. He stressed that the Libyan people are the only ones who have the right to draw victory for themselves, and that those who supported Mouammar Gaddafi in the past sould not interfere in the future of Libya.

Various speakers also delivered speeches during the first day of the conference including head of the Sudanese Popular Conference Party Hasan Turabi, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, Leader of the Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine Ramadan Abdullah Shallah, and Former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani.

Ayatullah Khamenei's complete speech is on his website. In the Speeches category look for the one called Leader’s remarks at International Conference on Islamic Awakening. If it is not under current speeches when you read this message, look under the archived speeches. http://english.khamenei.ir//index.php

Its kind of frightening that he's encouraging an Islamic awakening in the Muslim world, i think we know how things would be for our people if their was an actual Islamic state in Yemen/Egypt. It would probably be like Saudi or Afghanistan.

^Yemen is half Sunni and half Shia Zaidi and very divided... in other word, North Yemen is a Zaidi majority region... if any Islamic state is established, under the leadership of Houthis, Zaidis will have their own laws and rules with or without the central government... At present times, under Saleh whose himself a Zaidi Shia but his government is a Saudi-Takfiri slave has been discriminating Shias of all sects for decades. Yemen is the poorest country in the Arab world, and Shia communities are amongst the poorer and oppressed ones in Yemen, now you should have an idea.

MB in Egypt traditionally been OK. But, the group's recent misbehavior and hypocrisy show that somehow they are compromised behind the scene. Maybe not all, but some of them, the backbone or the main players of the group perhaps.... Anyhow, Mubarak and his lackeys were the main enemies of Shias, the region and people and the perfect puppets of Zionists.. so here the people of Egypt won't lose much for a try... Plus, within 70 million population of Egypt, we even don't have a million Shias.. or maybe close to a million where they were insulted and faced a lots of restriction under the so called secular Mubarak.

Write down your principles on paper. Preserve your genuine nature with a high degree of sensitivity. Do not allow your enemies to formulate the principles of your future system. Do not allow Islamic principles to be sacrificed for transient interests. Deviation in revolutions starts with deviation in slogans and objectives. Never place your trust in the U.S., NATO, or criminal regimes such as Britain, France, or, Italy, which for long plundered and divided your land among themselves. Look upon them with suspicion and do not believe their smiles. Behind these smiles and promises lies conspiracy and betrayal. Find you own way by resorting to the blessed fountainhead of Islam and give back foreigners’ prescriptions to themselves.

Another important recommendation is to avoid religious, ethnic, racial, tribal, and border disputes. Recognize differences as legitimate and manage them. Reconciliation among Islamic religions is the key to salvation. Those who fan the flames of religious division through apostatizing others are the mercenaries and servants of Satan, even if done inadvertently.

The second point relates to the fact that Islamic tenets must not be equated with backwardness, obscurantism, and ignorant and extremist biases. The demarcation between these two must be pronounced. Religious extremism, which is usually attended by violence, is the cause of falling short of the lofty goals of the revolution. This, in turn, results in the loss of public support and the eventual failure of the revolution.

Bro, I have not had time to look for other videos, but I would like to do that. I did see a news story about two of the participants in the conference. They were interviewed by Press TV. I haven't watched the video myself yet, but I am familiar with these two brothers because they live in the US and they do travel around and make appearances, lectures and interviews. InshaAllah I will watch it soon.

Just read a different analysis of the 'Islamic Awakening Conference'.

http://english.alara.../24/168388.html

Amir Taheri? Who is he? A comedian? No wonder, it is the trashcan 'Al-Arabiya' website who even posts and reports on dogs barking in the direction of Iran.

Not to waste my time, I searched 'Find' with the word Bahrain, the guy did not even mentioned it once. So, he is going to be ignored as other hypocrite Zionist puppets.

I wouldn't worry about that the so-called "Muslim" Brotherhood they are nothing but cupcakes and are fully controlled by the US imperialists (just check out their warm relationship with the IMF and World Bank usurious criminals based in Washington, D.C.)

Actually the so-called "Muslim" Brotherhood has never been this "threat" that Western (Zionist owned) propaganda media tries to claim they are to make people wet themselves! The "Ikhwan" (that is the so-called "Muslim" Brotherhood) was founded by colonialist British intelligence in British occupied Egypt in the 1920s as a British controlled counterweight to the stronger/larger more powerful Egyptian nationalist movements like the Wafd party in Egypt in that day.
