Quran/tajwid Classes In Gta?

Salamu Alaykum ,

I live in Toronto and what I'm looking for are classes that teach people how to read Qur'an. I'm 18-years-old and it shames me to be a Muslim and not know how to read it so does anyone know of any schools, preferably Shia and Arab, but the Arab portion is not 100% necessary. Also I'm not looking for a full time Islamic school, just weekend or evening classes.

You can check out 'Centre Madressah' in Thornhill. The classes are held on Sunday morning/afternoon and are geared toward younger age groups but there are certain levels for older students who are just learning. I haven't been in a few years so I cannot say for sure but it is worth checking out if you would like to contact them.

There are also weekly Quran classes held at Jaffari Community Centre, you can contact them to find out what days the classes are held and what levels.

I advise you to watch this recorded program that showed on Karbala TV before, it will help you to read a lot of words of holy Quran correctly.

It would be very good to listen to holy Quran everyday, so you can improve the level of your reading, I'm doing this myself.

I'm not sure if this will help you much, but in case if you couldn't find any class to attend, try this way of learning and

depend on yourself, don't be hopeless.

You can find an Online Shia Quran Teacher by going to this site www.shiatutor.com. My kids are doing the Quranic Classes with this tutor.
