Fatima The Radiant: 3 Part Series

I've completed a three-part series on Fatima az-Zahra (as), the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It is a simplified biography of her life, and should be easy enough for beginners in Islamic history to understand. I have used both Sunni and Shi`i sources, translated into English.The entire series can be found on the http://www.oceansoflight.wordpress.com Ahl al-Bayt blog.

Excerpt: We can see what the above four women all had in common: they were unquestionably obedient to the Lord of the Worlds. Maryam (or, Mary), the Mother of the Messiah Jesus (ع), was not a prophetess, but rather she was One who was Spoken to (muhadditha), receiving revelations of Angels, but not a prophetic book or mission. Likewise, Fatima (ع) too was comforted by angels from time to time and is therefore considered a muhadditha of Ahl al-Bayt (ع). The below narration makes this same parallel:...

Excerpt: "Fatima, you know Ali Ibn Abu Talib’s relationship to us, his devotion and faithfulness to Islam. I asked Allah to give you in marriage to the best of His creatures, and the most beloved to Him; and he (Ali) has declared his wish to marry you; what do you say?"
