(salam)

Eid mubarak to you and too all Muslimeen inshaAllah.

The Juristic Committee of the Institution of His Eminence, the Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra) announced that the scientific data and precise astronomical calculations it obtained indicate that Tuesday, August 30, 2011 is the first day of the month of Shawwal; marking the blessed Eid of Al-Fitr, according to the jurisprudential opinion of the late Religious Authority, Sayyed Muhammad Hussein Fadlullah (ra). We invoke Allah to return it upon the Muslims with good, blessings, victory and dignity

Salam brothers and sisters,

Does anyone know what day is Eid ul Fitr on, in UK i mean.

There is a lot of confusion going on. Since I found the Al-Raza Imambargah's website saying that 30th August is the last day of Ramzan.

But my aunt who is in London is saying that Eid is on 1st September 2011.

Do I just go ahead and celebrate Eid on the day the local mosque is holding the Eid prayers on? I want to know the mehcanics of how its pre-decided what day Eid is going to be on.

If anyone can help, and I mean urgently since I dont want to miss the Namaz tommorrow.
