Well, there are different kinds of depressions, some are more biological and some more psychological, but i appreciate your point about about something painful being good for us; its through suffering through pain that we have the chance to grow and learn. Good post S_D =)

I have found a cure for depression YAY! :D

Fortunately it will work with every single person :D

Unfortunately not all will be able to use it. :(

I will use a logical thought process to show you how to get out of depression.

Bro I appreciate your effort but trust me, when a person is extremely desparate and depressed, logic is out of the question. For example, if i shared the news that (God forbid) your sister or wife or mother eloped or had illicit relationship with an idiot, would you really be patient and have followed the logical approach which you initially lectured? Or how about if an evil person/entity raped/killed them? It is easier said than done..... I have had to face brothers/sisters dealing with such real life examples and, trust me, your 'solution' does not work well for most if not all practical examples. Whilst I appreciate your effort anyhow, trust me, there is a lot to learn from life.

What you say is true, I know what you mean and yes in many cases it may not work due to the person but if one tries to follow the Ahlul Bayt (as) and strives to please Allah (swt) and tries to always be God Conscious then it would be better for them to swallow their anger than to act on it. One who is God Conscious will know that Allah (swt) will avenge what has happened for them inshaAllah and that the person will get what they deserve in the Hereafter. Just like How Imam Ali (as) was patient and did not go and avenge what happened to Bibi Fatima (as) and knew that what Allah (swt) does is sufficient for him.

May Allah (swt) guide us all to think like this inshaAllah and allow us to always be aware of him and to be content with what He does for us

Great point of view. I think the argument you bring here could make depressed people lose their reason for being depressed. So, I guess the only reason for being depressed, after agreeing to your opinion, is because of not have faith to God, or not obey His commands...

exactly!!!its consciousness that removes depression not these logics; sorry i disagree with the point that it may work for everyone of us.

the one who is at the upper level of consciousness(god knowing) cant unleash himself/herself by this way, in depression all these things becomes absurd(xtremely sorry).

Allah (swt) loves us whether u love him or not he directs you to himself time and again and keep doing it (lailahaillallahul haleemul kareem) unless you go to xtremes in committing sins but that too in case.so , for that purpose he gives you bit of problems to realise the need of religion, as now a days everyone know that the human steps towards religion only when he is in problems. if Allah has planned for you something very great than you have to be more conscious and perhaps u could be given more probs to seek more help from Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

you are doing a good job here, keep it up bro!!!

First of all, wonderful piece you have written above Shia_debater.

Though I do have a few comments, (if you allow for a very flawed and humble opinion). What I was able to conclude after reading this was that, the cure to depression requires one key: being God Conscious. As deficient humans, this should be a goal that we are continuously striving for, because as you've mentioned, eventually nothing else matters for us like having the satisfaction of Allah. Now, after reading this it made me realize how distant I am from my Lord, because I found that the method you mentioned has a very general concept, (which is great) but it seems something only realistic and achievable to those of us who are absolutely God-Conscious and possess a pure and higher state of imaan. But to average ol' folks like myself, perhaps stating forms in which one could acquire this vigilance and God-Conscious self would be a more appealing, and auspicious remedy.

gracias,

(wasalam)

That's a post I can relate the most at this point of my life..

I lost my 6 month old baby on the 7th of this Mohurrum even though he wasn't really ill..Just that I happened to hear a majlis on night of 6th Mohurrum where the speaker said how Allah says to the believer," Put your trust in me alone, and I shall be sufficient for you," and all of a sudden, I repeated those words to my Creator at that very moment and said," I put my trust in you alone, so whatever You think is good for me, let it happen.." and within less than 40 hours, I was standing by my son's body and asking my momma why the doctor was lieing to us..

My son's death seems like a huge huge shock to me because I've yearned for siblings all my life and having my baby meant that all my prayers had been answered coz God sent such an extraordinarily beautiful kid to kill my loneliness..but I didn't ever ask myself as to why did I say those words to God...I know He has a "maslehat" which mortals like us can never understand.

When i get depressed I try to reason out the loss as Allah's will but then when I see other ladies with their kids or babies of his age or hear some baby's sound from a distance, I get restless like I've lost my heart!

Alhamdolillah, my faith in Allah is still intact and I hope this misfortune offers me an opportunity to gain more proximity to my beautiful Creator , Insha Allah!!!
