Making Dua For Each Other

I like this idea, and I got re-directed here because of the post Baby Beaver made more recently, so thank you to both of you. I think everyone gets strength from praying for others and having others pray for them, and who knows whose Dua will be listened to?

Only if we start blaming God and/or members on SC for not having our wishes fulfilled.

I don't know if this answers your question(s), but I see Dua as going hand in hand with believing in Allah's Adl (Justice), Ilm (Knowledge) and being contented with what he gives you. When you do that, you won't wonder if He is the petty Deity who will reject your dua because some people on the Internet didn't pray for you. Neither will you go down the 'everyone prayed for me but I still didn't get xyz that I asked for, so Duas don't work' road. There are several reasons why Duas don't get fulfilled, and Allah doesn't love me/doesn't have the power/Dua is useless are NOT among those reasons.

So when I want something, I do Dua, and I ask others to pray for me too. When I still don't get what I want, I think that a) maybe it wasn't good for me, since Allah does know a thing or two more than I do, b-) maybe it wasn't good for me to get it right now, and I will eventually get it, c) Maybe I don't deserve it, or d) Maybe Allah is testing me, after all, the world is just a test.

PS: I'm in this difficult, minefield-like situation. Prayers would be appreciated

I agree. More duas can only help. I personally feel like all duas are not created equal. Sometimes, I make duas but not all that sincerely. Or, sometimes I do things that probably make me undeserving of whatever I asked for in my duas. I think that all it takes is one good, sincere dua to be fulfilled. If I ask a hundred people to pray for me, then perhaps one of those people will pray for me with a more sincere and deserving heart than mine, and be thus be the one to be granted by Allah. I don't know how my concept of duas matches up with the reality, but at the end of the day, I think that praying for each other only helps. :)

to keep our brothers and sisters in our duas, is one the best way we might be hopeful to have our Duas accepted.

there is a tradition says, Allah S.W.T, addressed prophet Moses saying, O Moses call me and ask me your needs by means of the tongue you have not committed any sin by. Moses surprised and said how it could be possible? Allah said to him ask me your needs through the other's Duas. (more definition: ask your brothers to make Dua for you )

وَ رُوِيَ‏ أَنَّ اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى أَوْحَى إِلَى مُوسَى يَا مُوسَى ادْعُنِي عَلَى لِسَانٍ لَمْ تَعْصِنِي بِهِ فَقَالَ ع أَنَّى لِي بِذَلِكَ فَقَالَ ادْعُنِي عَلَى لِسَانِ غَيْرِكَ‏ ».

other tradition: among the Duas, the closest and the fastest to the acceptance, are those which made by believers for their brothers and sisters.

وَ رَوَى الْفَضْلُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع‏ أَوْشَكُ دَعْوَةً وَ أَسْرَعُ إِجَابَةً دَعْوَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ لِأَخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الْغَيْب‏

and there are more traditions in this regard I would just put the Arabic text.

وَ عَنْهُ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‏ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ [أَحَدٍ] دَعَا لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَّا رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي دَعَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ وَ مُؤْمِنَةٍ مَضَى مِنْ أَوَّلِ الدَّهْرِ إِلَى مَا هُوَ آتٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُؤْمَرُ بِه‏ إِلَى النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُسْحَبُ فَيَقُولُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يَا رَبِّ هَذَا الَّذِي كَانَ يَدْعُو لَنَا فَيَشْفَعُوا فِيهِ فَيُشَفِّعُهُمُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ فَيَنْجُو

All of you please pray for me, but not for a job or all the ensnaring or weak means to the end like that, rather pray that God gives me good business and fatter and more frequent lumps of money, so I can proceed to sacrifice the lumps on the altar of the greed of relatives and the money worshipping society of this time era he chose for me. You know I regularly give a lot of money to your mosque and your good works and for charity and to my family though these are never enough, you know that well, and that I confess that I am the lowliest and filthiest of your creatures. But please listen. I am not asking for ferraris or castles or all the frivolties of this world rather I am asking for ease through money. I don't like other creatures when they are at my throat for more money, or when they worship me for having money, I don't want any of that. And I am precisely asking so I can be left alone in peace so I can worship you.

This is why I have become stingy and greedy. Dear God! If I stop earning money, they will throw me on the streets. They think that karbala is some stage play. They have picked their favorite characters and like to perform in that play. Even if I have not done anything good, I don't disrespect Karbala. So please for the sake of martyrs of karbala and prisoners of shaam, don't take away my source of income.

Here is something that will help your with everything, not just with your confusion INSHALLAH. Please say over and over as much as you can when you have free time, from the heart and sincerity:  YA RABBIL AALAMEEN (HELP ME and guide me on the right path) = O GOD OF THE UNIVERSE(HELP ME and guide me on the right path). Do this for a week and see the results to your liking INSHALLAH.

"Allah says: If a person instead of invoking Me (Dua), is engaged in Remembering me (Dhikr), I will give him the best thing I give to a supplicant.

So I've been really sick for about a week now with no signs of getting better  I've got a horrible fever, feel dizzy and a chesty cough and its stopped me during my Uni work which is worrying me considering its the busiest time of year. Alhamdulilah a doctor gave me some antibiotics today but I could really do with your du'as right now. Thank you in advance and may Allah grant you all good health.

Despite clear proofs and clear knowledge of the truth of the religion, my mind is wondering off to look for reasons to disbelieve in the true religion for purely my lower desires and uncertain opinions.

Pray that I overcome this pitiful state, and don't give up what I know for what I don't and not give up on what is certain for what is doubtful.
