Here's an idea...How about you go to their house, eat all their food and then to thank them, you sit and gossip and whisper about them, in front of them, in their own house.

That's what my aunty did last night, at an iftar we held.

Say 'sufra da'ima'. And saying 'aflah Allah man qarah surat al fateha' is usually appreciated, especially if they have deceased family members, it shows that theyre in your thoughts!

All the sawab that u recieved for feeding her and her family and then listening to her criticizme quietly and being patient...

All that sawab has just been lost as you complained about it on a public forum.

If I were u, I would do istighfar and ask Allah (aj) to forgive you, grant you sabr (patience), and ask him to return to you that sawab that u lost due to ur public out burst.

Nobody knows who I am and nobody knows who she is. So, I don't see how it makes a difference if it's on a public forum.

(salam)

Say Alhamdulillah, compliment the food, say thank you and maybe make a dua for them

I say, "Can i take the leftovers?"

That is kinda rude. They may want to keep the extra food for the suhoor. :)

I think the answer to this simple question should just be simple and that is just saying

"Thank you" :shifty:

Also some people in Farsi language say "Khana aabad" which basically means thank you and may God give you more!

I'll take a full stomach over proper etiquette.

They'll probably forget next day anway, i hope.
