"And we have not sent you (O Muhammed) but as a mercy to the worlds" - Holy Quran (21:107)

We have seen a worldwide engagement in showing the true message of The Prophet by handing out roses to the public, therefore we are thinking of doing a global rose day where anyone from around the globe can join us. The date will inshallah be the second day of Eid 27th October 2012.

Inshallah we will have an event in London and we are thinking of handing out between 1500 and 2000 roses this time. We hope to see you there and please do spread this even amongst your friends.

We will be meeting up near London Eye in South Bank. Please contact me if you would like to donate or help out tie the messages or volunteer to help out on the day.

The Imperial College Ahlul Bayt Islamic Society would like to present its first lecture of the Academic Year

ISLAM AND ANTHROPOLOGY: AN EVOLUTIONARY PERSPECTIVE

Lecturer - JAFFER LADAK

Date and Venue - Monday the 5th of November - SAF building LT1

Evolutionary thought and Anthropology are some of modern science's greatest theories, having gripped the world by storm in recent years.

The concept of Evolution within Islam has led to a variety of different opinions over the years, ranging from theistic evolution to creationism, yet modern Islamic thought generally opposes the evolution of man.

The purpose of this talk is to bring about a different point of view, focussing on Islam and Anthropology from an Evolutionary perspective. The lecturer - Jaffer Ladak - will present an academic insight into this controversial topic and hopefully provide an explanation to many of those unanswered questions.

THIS IS THE LAST DISCUSSION CIRCLE OF THE TERM, AND WE'RE ENDING WITH A BANG! :D

This Thursday, we are honoured to be hosting a brand new initiative known as ODF.

The Open Discussion Forum (ODF) is an independent non-partisan think tank, dedicated to the spreading of knowledge and ideas to innovate and promote analytical, critical thinking. ODF will endeavour to build and establish a free thinking platform encouraging participants, and spectators alike, to stimulate and engage in dialogue.

The topic of choice is..

The Science of methodology and the use of logical Induction

A scientific attempt to answer 5 fundamental questions;

1) why are we not a monolithic society?

2) how do we liberate ourselves from the shackles of subjectivity?

3) How can we combine and bridge both discourse with comprehension, when discourse is intrinsic and autonomous to its own form?

4) Is there a scientific method to vindicate the truth?

5) What are the logical inductive methods to using predisposition?

--------

THIS WEEK'S DC PROMISES TO BE THOUGHT-PRVOKING! Because there is SO much for us to discuss the schedule has changed!

Salaam,

This is the first (oldest) annual Muslim Procession in Central London and the very first Arbaeen/Chelum Procession of Imam Husain عليه السلام in the western world (Americas & Europe).

The Procession is held every year on the nearest Sunday to Arbaeen at Marble Arch, London. Over the years, we have built up a strong relationship with the local authorities, Westminster Council and Metropolitan Police, ensuring a peaceful successful procession.

The procession marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of the Grandson of our Holy Prophet عليه السلام in Karbala 680AD and has now become one of the largest annual Muslim processions of the UK.

NOTE: If anyone would like to volunteer this year or know of anyone, please go on www.arbaeenuk.com and fill out the volunteer form.
