Mustahab Fast

(salam)

Can somebody tell me if it is mustahab to break your fast if somebody offers you something to eat whilst doing a voluntary fast?

Also what if this is qadha?

Also what if the person who offers you food is for example your mother, who every day would ask you to join her to eat(of course she doesn't if your fasting or not)?

Salaam,

I'd like to really know this too. In these Holy months, when you are fasting and somebody finds out, they all come rushing to you with food, coaxing you to open your fast, for some free thawab for themselves.

Ayatollah Sistani:

If a person observes a Mustahab fast, it is not obligatory on him to complete it. In fact, if one of his brethren-in-faith (I assume this is Muslim and not just Shia) invites him to a meal, it is Mustahab that he accepts the invitation and breaks the fast during the day time even if it may be after Zuhr

Just a quick revival of this thread out of curiousity...

what if a Non-Muslim offers you food?

Is there a reward for iftar with a brother in humanity? Specifically if you know him to be a man of good character and belief in God (albeit non in Islam)
