Metatron is the name of an angel mentioned not in the Holy Bible or the Quran, but has been spoken of in various Talmudic, Apocryphal, and Kabbalistic texts with some mentioning in Christian and Islamic works.

Metatron is the name of a high ranking angel in Jewish tradition as well as some Christian and Islamic ones. Metatron has been shown taking on various roles throughout the writings that feature him. In some traditions, he is regarded as the voice of God who conveys the words of God to all creation in a manner similar to Gabriel in Islam. In others, he is portrayed as a scribe who writes down the deeds of the Children of Israel or as the angel who passed judgement on the Egyptians and led the Israelites through the wilderness. Even more interesting, albeit strange, he has sometimes been associated as a transformed Enoch (pbuh) He has been mentioned a few times by Muslim mystics both by the title of "Metatron" and "malak al-nun"

I would very much like to find out more about this angel from any source.

(bismillah)

If you're interested we can talk about 'Nun' and the 'Qalam' (Pen), and their meanings in islamic theology.

In short, they're all different levels of existence of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and Imam Ali (as).

I've never come across Metatron in islamic works..

I would also be careful what you take from Kabbalah ...
