Let me explain... I was at a party and there were people drinking... But as you may or may not know when people drink alcohol they mix it with other drinks. Many glasses of coke were poured out and the bottle of alcohol and coke was next to them so I asked if thhey were mixed and someone who didnt eveen know said no they werent -.- so I picked it up and took a sip! It had a bitter, foul taste to and and it was really nasty!!!! now I feel like [Edited Out] because i drank it.

Can someone please tell me ways to purify myself.

Bismillah salaam alaykum wr wb

Bro I've been there just an advise don't go to parties because your jus getting close to haraam

But you can always repent

Imam ali said Allah loves the person who feels depressed and guilty about sinning then a person who takes pride in a good deed

Just repent surely our lord is merciful

But next time just don't go :)

But inshallah may Allah forgive all our sins

Ameen

It is not permissible for a Muslim to be in places where Alcohol is present, i mean why would any Shia go to Satans party? If anyone has special electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light galsses, you would be able to see Satan holding chains and chucking them at people for him to follow (Not totally true with visibally seeing Satan but you get the idea) What you need to do is to check with your scholar on what is the ruling of such parties where alcohol is the drink, and what happens if you accidentally drink it.

Its not easy for someone not to go to places like that when u live in "Satan's countries"

Truth is I used to love the hype that he feels and Ive given everything up for my own sake

So brother, just repent and forget these time wasters. They are only distractions to keep us away from our deen!

Allah (swt) will def forgive you if u dont repeat it :)

Imam Ali (as) also never sat in a place where there was alcohol being consumed.

I think you should make a vow to never attend such a party again (in case you're actually a Shia of Ali (as)).

Email your marja. I am not sure of laws of intentional and unintentional

I was recently invited to a work part at a pub and I had to drink from the same table where they were drinking alcohol, even though I was drinking non alcoholic drinks, sitting at that table is haram. So I have now vowed not too go anywhere where alcohol is present and in the extreme circumstance only go and not eat/drink.

Ok look ,don't worry..no human is perfect . Just repent :)

I view all my good deeds and my sins by adopting an act of morality . In other words, I look it's intention . For example,if drinking alcohol is only mentionned once in the quran, whereas backpitting is mentionned 15 times ,then I consider backpitting more haram.

Just because i don't drink alcohol ,it makes me more inoncent about it,and have this weird feeling for people who do it ..that's how psychology work B)

Don't forget that making sins accidentally is a blessing . Allah wants you to make sins so you can repent and get nearer with him .

anyways, since you did it accidentally ,it's not a big deal . Repent ,repent & don't forget me in your prayers .

Good luck !

It's pretty easy not to go to places like this. Just say it to your friends, you don't like to be where alcohol is consumed. You don't even have to declare your religion (because probably, nowadays, this will give you problems) to say that you don't want to approach to alcohol. Don't get influenced by the rest of the people, and you will surely be happier, believe me. The unique entertainment way they have nowadays in the West seems to be alcohol drinking, singing and dancing. And all of that is haraam, pretty obvious for a good observer.

Repent for that and don't go again to places with alcohol, music, dancing, etc. InshaAllah God will accept your repentance and give you power to decide where to go without any difficulty. Freedom is not to be able to do whatever you please, but to do whatever you consider good when your knowledge is complete.

....really? No one is acting all perfect. The only way to prevent this from ever happening is not going to parties with music and dancing, alcoholic drinks everywhere, and most likely half naked women too. You don't need a marja to tell you that.

I pray this brother will learn from this. The thought of going to these places should not even cross his mind, inshallah.

salam guys

just my 2c.

re-iterating.. how u shouldnt be there in the first place

the reasons why u shouldnt be there is for these circumstances... now although it was accidental.. by you going to these places and putting urself in a situation where this could likely happen COULD be enough for you to have no excuse as "accident", but i dunno im no marja3, but i think u should def check it out

and thats a poor excuse about hard to not go.. i was once obsessed with going out and socialising and i used to say same excuse.. alhamdulilah i am past that stage of justification of sins

finally - please brother, dont use this forum to make urself feel better about the situation.. it only gives you more reason to not repent... you should feel bad - that way at least you will have ur conscious to guide you in the future.

Inshallah you will be forgiven, and be strong to avoid these places

Salam

Does the whole thing about your salaah not being accepted for 40 days apply in this situation? ie. unintentional consumption of alcohol?

(sarcasm)

Yeah, so, I was just gargling with alcohol, you know, and it accidentally got consumed!!!!! :( So, I hope my 40 days aren't wasted either?!

And no I'm not gona quit alcohol gargling. It's fun, my friends do it, and I like it. It's cooooool. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You should try it too!~ :D:D:DD:

P.S.: Plx mail a marja and find out 4 me. Thxs.

the prophets and the imams used to seek forgiveness all the time.. doesnt mean they need a specific scenario or reason...

the point is, he had alcohol.. its for God to decide if it was a sin or not, not us

You are fine. you want to purify yourself? go pee then and it will leave your system. But it is haraam to put your self in that situation - the party that is.

So, Muslims of today need to shape up in a big way, I agree. But how does that warrant an excuse to drink alcohol, condemn salat, hijab and reject Islam? I fail to see the logic in that. This is, by definition, a lame excuse. Especially because 99% of today's "Muslims" are only muslims by inheritance / faith / name, and do not really follow Islam. Those who follow the mullah become vicious and blind. Their beards and white garbs are only a drama. Its also blindness of the criticizers that they fail to see that these ignorant people are actually against the very spirit of Islam, which is the only kind of its religion on the planet that is for the well being of the human society and values human morals like truth, justice, peace and compassion above all, and it is actually very flexible and easy on issues that actually matter to a person.

I don't see the imperative necessity of things like alcohol, hijablessness/nudity, and technological/military supremacy etc. for the welfare of a human society. In fact, these things are poison for human life and society.

If you worry about your friend then pray for him, thats the only way to help him. Thats it.

Don't worry, the EXACT same thing happened to me a few years ago, when I used to party (astaghfirullah!), it doesn't matter.

You didn't mean to; so you don't need to do anything. Except stop going to parties. This is WHY they're haram, they have a haram environment, which is unsuitable for a muslim.
