How did it happen?

I had gone back to my home country and one of my cousins applied this weird cream on my face. I got a burn immediately and then i tried to get rid of it using all the stuff mentioned above. When i returned to Canada i visited the doctor, and he gave me this medicine that worsened the condition and made the entire scar more prominent..People suggested that i apply makeup to cover it but i don't like using makeup ..i just feel it makes u look pretty and ruins the entire intention of wearing a hijab

I think before using any meds, or anything on it, you should first find out what kind of cream did your cousin applied on your face, you should see a specialist.

I am not a medical doctor so be cautious of my suggestions.

- I don’t put anything on wound or burn. I let them self heal. If you find a good doctor (a specialist) then you can probably trust what he/she is saying.

- After healing, see if you have scars. There are many products in the market that claim to be able to remove the scars. Haven’t tried them, so cant recommend any.

- Avacados and Aloe Vera is very good for skin. Usually, I go the natural route and not through cosmetic products.

Best thing is to see a skin specialist.

I know someone who burnt half of their face with boiling hot oil...it was horrible and once it started healing it looked much worse and had turned a dark brown, but if you don't touch it it WILL go away. A skin specialist would recommend the perfect thing to heal it, and try and find out the cream/ingredients used in the cream which was used on your face causing it to burn.

Try avoiding covering it with makeup, I know its hard because you'd want it to be hidden especially when you go out, but its best not to put more chemicals on it...it'll help heal quicker.

Be patient, it will heal :-)

and also..once it scabs..don't pick at it please :squeez:

InshaAllah it will go

Take care

Salaams,

Apply water/wet compresses, don't use butter/milk/lemon etc as these things contain natural acids of their own that could exacerbate the problem. Cover the area with dry gauze and leave it alone for a while. Aloe vera will help protect against scarring, but may also dry the skin out so don't use it until the skin has begun healing and is able to retain moisture. An alternative to this is Eucerin's Aquaphor ointment; it carries no risk of drying and is an effective measure against all sorts of skin problems including minor burns. The ingredients are a bit suspect, but it's designed for use on infants so it's gentle and relatively harmless.

Consult a skin specialist, and if he/she gives the okay, consider using a product called Rosa's Scarless Healer:

http://www.naturalhealthorganics.com.au/Rosa-Scarless-Healer-Cream-50g-pr-4301.html

It has all-natural ingredients that should help your skin heal completely insh'Allah. :)

two sure shot methods to get rid of burn maarks....... but you have to be very patient................................

1. apply aloe vera gel everyday preferably twice a day............. if possible use the fresh one taken out from the plant each day........ aloe vera plants are very easy to keep in a pot in your house........... aloe vera is very very good for nay kinds of scars

2. apply honey to the burn area everyday.......... :)

there you go............

This is too late to help the OP but a good piece of general info that my whole family swears by (i've only tried this once and it worked) - if you get a minor burn (eg: while cooking in the kitchen) immediately put salt on the burn. It might sound strange but apparently it will prevent blistering and the burn will not leave any marks.

Sis, do check with your marjiia about covering the blisters, burn. If u r applying foundation to burnt area with intention of covering it up as opposed to beautifying urself for non-mahrams, there is a different ruling on this so do check ur marjiaa. Also, ur skin is very sensitive when u have a burn so dont EVER apply random things like lemon etc I asked my mum (dr) and from memory from pharmacy lectures, most important thing is to apply moisturizer (use olive oil cuz doesn't have ingredients that may further irritate ur skin) and leave It to heal naturally. Use non soap non drying cleanser when washing ur face. In Sydney, QV ego and clearasil are good brands for this purpose. Ask ur pharmacist if in doubt ;)
