for those who don't know about these guys, this style, as based on the 2 compilations I've heard; this is the rise of a new art form; the perfection of the skill of oration, suited to the modern age; and no less than genius, pure and simple. to say in verse what it would take most others pages to say in plain english, to express such complexity of concept and subtlety of islamic, humanistic outlook while maintaining intellectual and personal contact with the audience, speaking to us in our own language, as ones from us... this is no small feat. I can't say its my style, even so I am a fan. I can fully appreciate it still because of the love of God & AB (as) which is at its heart, is its foundation and continuously shines through it, obliterating the boundaries of genre, culture, language, and any of society's other categorisations. I would highly recommend every poet and lover of AB (as) to invest in these works, and support such endeavours.

I've just listened to it. I have to say I'm impressed. Back to your old style but with the quality and depth that has become ur new trademark. This commands a whole different level of respect. You've grown up.

Answer: If the music accompanying it is that which is suitable for entertainment and amusement gatherings, it is not permissible to listen to it

I would much prefer if the guys did acapella, or used a beat that didn't use instruments.

Um, its beatboxing, that's vocal and not instrumental. Clever, isn't it? : )

Thanks for your reminder. But, as the fatawa states the use of instruments themselves is not prohibited, only using them in haram type music is prohibited.

What classifies songs as haram are having one or more of the following characteristics:

1. The lyrics are haram in nature, not the case here

2. The singing has lots of changes in pitch and prolonged aaa sounds, making it ghina, again I believe not the case

3. The musical tune accompanying the piece is as the fatwa says, suitable for clubs, parties, whatever. Imo this type of simple beatbox type thing would be out of place in such a party, the tune and beat is a background accompaniment to the words and far less complicated and melodic than what classes as popular music. It sounds like all they had was a mic between a few guys while recording most of this, it has nowhere near the level of over-engineering, instrumentals and layering of melodies and effects you get in haram music.

Of course you're welcome to your own opinion, as is everyone else. It is the responsibility of each of us to decide what is or isn't haram as fairly as we can, based on rules 1,2,3 above.

i read that even humming a tune is haram by the ruling of Sistani, i dont know, i am a bit skeptical about all forms of compositions which constitutes music, regardless if it is instrument or not

think about it, we cant be so narrow and provincial and believe that Islamic rulling stops at devices that make sound from the way they are formed, because souns is the problem, not the wood piece, metal piece, or whether produced by a mouth piece

i think the problem is the fact that music is employed full stop, and when you think about it, is it really necessary? when we have tons of literature, orators to turn to for moral or ethical or religious guidance, do we need really to be entertained in order to receive our message of guidance?(through music that is)

^ brother you fail to appreciate that not all music is haram according to seestani, even using instruments. It has to be the type of music which is suitable to be played at clubs, parties, etc: this exempts many forms of legitimate music such as classical, many movie theme tunes, orchestrals, hymns, folk music etc. I don't believe this particular style is suitable to be played at a club or party, but you're free to make your own decision regarding this.
