^Surah Hud ayath 86

[shakir 11:86] What remains with Allah is better for you if you are believers, and I am not a keeper over you.

[Pooya/Ali Commentary 11:86]

Sabbaghi, a renowned Muslim scholar, in his book "Fusul al Muhimmah", has related the following tradition about the signs of the reappearance of Imam al Mahdi al Qa-im on the authority of Imam Jafar bin Muhammad al Sadiq:

The Imam said:

"When the last of us will come, there will be only 313 faithfuls with him. Leaning on the wall of Ka-bah he will recite verse 86 of Hud. All people will address him as "Baqiyyatullah "

Answer:

I have chosen an easy question:

Why are we commonly refered to as 'Jaafariye'?

This thread is very nice and beneficial to those who want to learn about our religon.

This started from Imam Jaffer Sadiq(as) period because his school name was Jafaria and hence his followers(shia) were called as Jafarias.

O you who believe! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful. (49:12)

Sorry! I was looking for some verse in the Quran.

Here is my question:

There are two verse in the Quran that state one of the party will be successful and there is also another verse that this party will be the loser. What party are these? Please state the correct verses including the surah number.

[shakir 3:104] And from among you there should be a party who invite to good and enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong, and these it is that shall be successful.

æóáóÇ ÊóßõæäõæÇ ßóÇáøóÐöíäó ÊóÝóÑøóÞõæÇ æóÇÎúÊóáóÝõæÇ ãöäú ÈóÚúÏö ãóÇ ÌóÇÁóåõãõ ÇáúÈóíøöäóÇÊõ ۚ æóÃõæáóٰÆößó áóåõãú ÚóÐóÇÈñ ÚóÙöíãñ {105}

This verse about successful party was the direct one.

However I couldnt get any direct unsuccessful party verse.

[shakir 5:56] And whoever takes Allah and His messenger and those who believe for a guardian, then surely the party of Allah are they that shall be triumphant.

[shakir 5:66] Do not make excuses; you have denied indeed after you had believed; if We pardon a party of you, We will chastise (another) party because they are guilty

These two verses were indirect but mean the same almost.

I am not sure if you meant these ayahs. If I am current then let me know so I post my question.

Verse 5:56 is correct. The other verse that you were looking for was 58:19, the party of shaytan ÍöÒúÈõ ÇáÔøóíúØóÇäö

[shakir 58:19] The Shaitan has gained the mastery over them, so he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah; they are the Shaitan's party; now surely the Shaitan's party are the losers.

And We desired to bestow a favor upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and to make them the Imams, and to make them the heirs, (28:5)

Lady Hakima took the newborn child of exalted rank to its honorable father, Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) who welcomed him with great pleasure and joy and initiated the Islamic rituals connected with the occasion. In the right ear of the newborn child, the Imam recited the 'Azan' and in his left recited the 'Iqamat'. Thus the first words to reach his ears were, 'God is the Greatest' and, 'There is no god, except Allah'.

In fact, Imam Hasan Askari (a.s), by these words fed the child with the secret of existence and the aim of the prophets and it resulted in completely surrounding the heart with kindness, feelings and understanding and at this moment the nascent divine child spoke up, like among the past prophets Isa (a.s) had done, reciting the following verse from the Holy Quran:

"And we desired to bestow a favor upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and make them the Imams, and to make them the heirs…"

:o :o This thread has not been active for the past 5 days.... hmm maybe the last question was too hard?! If so, then its all Basim's fault

Sa'ad ibn Ubada

When was the capital of the Islamic government changed from Medina to Kufa (date) ?

wa (salam)

You're not expecting us to know this by heart yea?! I have no idea what the date is, but it was some time after the Muslims had won the battle of the camel?

The full answer is Rajab 12 of 36 A.H (thanx to google and al-islam.org :D)

The Change of Capital from Medina to Kufa

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IN RAJAB OF 36 A.H. (JANUARY 657) ALI decided to transfer the headquarters of his government from Medina in Hijaz to Kufa in Iraq. When law and order had been restored in Basra, he appointed Abdullah ibn Abbas as its new governor, and then left for Kufa which became, thenceforth, the new capital of Islam.

On Rajab 12 of 36 A.H., Ali arrived at the gates of Kufa. The nobles of the city came out to greet him and to congratulate him on his victory. Entering the city, Ali first went into the Great Mosque, offered the prayer of thanksgiving to God for victory, and then delivered a speech in which he thanked the people of Kufa for their support, and commended them for their gallant performance in the battle of Basra.

Next question:

What is the difference/s between a Rasul (Messenger) and a Nabi (Prophet)? Provide examples of each + Support ur answer with reliable refs.

  • Advanced Member

The Quran has used both the words, Nabi and Rasul, which shows that there were two kinds of messengers.

1. Some of the messengers were Nabi only.

2. Some messengers were both Nabi and Rasool.

The difference between Rasul and Nabi is that,

1. A Rasul was a messenger of Allah who was given a new Shariat (codes of law) from Him. And a Nabi was also the messenger of Allah, but he was not given any new Shariat and followed the shariat of earlier Rasul. Sheikh Mufid, a great scholar of Islam writes in his book, Awa’il al-Maqalat, "every messenger is a prophet [Nabi], but not every Prophet is a Rasul [Apostle]. All Rasules were Nabi but all Nabis were not Rasuls.

2. A Prophet is always a Nabi by birth, but a prophet become Rasul when he officially receives the post and declares it. For example, our Prophet Muhammad (sws) was Nabi by birth, but became Rasul when he officially got and delivered the message of Risalat at the age of 40.

3. The Rasul [Apostle] receives the message from Allah Taala in many different manners such as, vision during sleep, direct communication with angels when he is awake. i.e., he can see and speak to the angels during communication of Divine message. But the Nabi [prophet] differs from the Rasul in that he does not see the angels when awake but sees during sleep.

4. The Rasul is higher in rank than a Nabi.

Out of 25 Prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran, or among 124000 Nabis, Five were Rasul, and are called Ulu l-azm prophets, meaning those who possess a quality of determination and firmness.

The five Rasuls and Ulul-azm Prophets are:

1 - Hazrat Nooh (as)

2 - Hazrat Ibrahim (as)

3 - Hazrat Musa (as)

4 - Hazrat Isa (as)

5 - Hazrat Muhammad (sws)

Prophet Nooh(as) was given a Shari’ah which was followed by other prophets up to the time of Hazrat Ibrahim(as).

Prophet Ibrahim(as) was given a Shari’ah which remained in force up to the time of Hazrat Musa. i.e., Hazrat Yaqub, Hazrat Lut, Hazrat Yousuf (as) etc. followed the Shariat of Ibrahim.

Prophet Musa(as) was given a new Shari’ah which was followed by all the prophets of Bani Israel until the time of Hazrat Isa (as).

Prophet Isa (as) was given a new Shariat which remained in force upto the time of the Holy Prophet.

Prophet Muhammad (sws) was given the last and the most perfect Shariat which will remain in force up to the last working day of the world.

The Shariat -e- Muhammadi can never be changed as Prophet Muhammed (sws) is the last prophet and no prophet will come after him. Our Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (sws) has the highest position and rank among all the Prophets.

My question:

What was the name of Hazrath Nooh(as) denier son?

The first revealed word was "Iqra" mean read from sura Alaq.

Sūrat al-‘Alaq (ÇáÚáÞ"The Clot"), is the 96th sura or chapter of the Qur'an. It is composed of 19 Ayat (verses or "signs"), and is traditionally believed to have been revealed at Mecca. It is sometimes also known as Sūrat al-Iqrā (ÅÞÑÇ, "Read").

What are the verses in the Holy Quran that prove the Angles do not commit sins/mistakes and that they are always obedient to Allah swt.

I need this answer for another thread. I am aware that the Sunnis don't believe that the angels are pure because they always give the example of the two angels of babylon (Haroot and Maroot).

Thanks.
