4 Major Grading Classifcations of Grading a Hadith:

I apologize, I couldn't find a short explanation.

3 out of those 4 were correct. The correct answers are

Major Hadith Grading Classifications

1. Sahih (Authenic) - When you see SaheeH it means that everone in the Chain of that hadith is an Imami (Shia) and is praised in the narrations (tawtheeq).

2. Hasan (Good) - When you see Hasan it means that at least 1 or more people in the chain is an Imam (Shia) but doesn't have anyone praising his narrations. (tawtheeq) the of the people are the in the chain are Imami's tawtheeq.

3. Mawaththaq (Reliable/Dependable) - When you see Mawaththaq it means that at least 1 or more people in the chain are Non-Imami's (i.e. Sunni's or othe Shia Sects) but they are praised in their narrations. The rest of the people in the chain are Imami (Shias) with tawtheeq in their narrations.

4. Da'eef (Weak) - When you see Da'eef it means that at least 1 or more people in the chain are weak in narrations (they would be well known fabricators of hadith, exaggerators (ghuluw)...etc)

To become a Mujtahid, you need to study in the Hawzah for a number of years so that you reach a stage when you can derive and deduce the laws and the decrees from the sources of jurisdiction such as the Qur'an and the teachings –Sunnah – of the prophet and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (as). It could take ten years – or more or less than that – depending on the effort the individual makes. Usually the teachers and other ‘Ulema declare the Ijtihaad of the individual based on the works – or thesis – he has produce.

What is wrong with the title "Ramadhan Quiz"?

Not exactly the answer I was looking for. Obviously what you're written is right lol. Maybe I didn't phrase my question properly. What is the criteria in order to become a Mujtahid (other than studying etc)

Azerbaijan and India??

Actually, that's wrong. The countries that make up the the top five countries with the highest Shi'ite population are Iran, Pakistan, India, Iraq and Turkey. Yemen and Azerbaijan come next. This is according to a 2009 estimate [sOURCE].

What is the Criteria of a Mujtahid?

I believe this is what you were expecting the answer as :P :

It is necessary for the Mujtahid who is followed, to be male, Shi'ah Ithna Ash'ari, adult, sane, of legitimate birth, living and just ('Adil).

What is wrong with the title "Ramadhan Quiz"?

It should be 'Shahr Ramadan' or 'The Month of Ramadan Quiz', as we're instructed in ahadith not to call 'Ramadan' as 'Ramadan' but 'The Month of Ramadan':

Which son of Imam Hussain (as) was called Abdullah (hence the title Abu Abdullah for Imam Hussain (as) ) ?

Good job, linking the answer to my thread. :)

I knew I shouldn have asked a harder question.

Do you mean surah taha verse 55? Imam Ali(as) recited this ayah when he was stuck by muljim.

Don't forget to ask your question bro.

According to my memory, Imam Ali (as) was walking into the mosque and found Mujlim sleeping infront on his stomache. He told him that he is going to do a big sin on that day.

Am I correct?

(salam)

No. But this is a good answer.

Find the verse. The victim addressed his soon to be killer. What did he say to him?

wasalam.gif

Habeel said to his brother Qabeel...

bismillah.gif

Al-Maeda

(The other) answered: Allah accepteth only from those who ward off (evil). (27) Even if thou stretch out thy hand against me to kill me, I shall not stretch out my hand against thee to kill thee, lo! I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. (28) Lo! I would rather thou shouldst bear the punishment of the sin against me and thine own sin and become one of the owners of the fire. That is the reward of evil-doers. (29)

Q. What are lawh and Qalam?

No major Shia. The victim-killer verse is about an incident that happened before the time of the Holy Prophet(pbuh).

Oh, I apologize. When you said that the victim talked to the killer, I thought you were referring to Imam Ali (as).

That was really interesting to know.

As for the answer I am not sure what you mean? Do you mean literal meaning of lawh and qalam? which is sheet(slab) and pen.

If its correct then any one can proceed with their question.

Next question:

The revelation of Qura'anic surahs occurred either in Makkah or Medina. Thus a surah is known as either Makkia or Medania.

List the names of Mekian surahs and Medanian surahs. Then state the difference between a Mekian and a Medanian surah.
