Ok There were three of them all together. Shaubib b Bijrah and Werdan and Ibne Muljim. Werdan missed his mark but Ibn Muljim didnt.

Actually, from what I've read, Shabib ibn Bajrah al-Ashja`i was the one who made the first attack, but missed.

As for Werdan, I think you mean Dardan ibn Mujalid (who was assisting Ibn Mujim but didn't make an attack)? :donno:

Here's the story of Imam Ali's (as) martyrdom:

Hhhmm..In the movie his name is wardan. Thanks for the link. btw what was the real name of Ibne Muljim?

I'm not sure either... from what I've heard and read, his only name was Abdul Rahman ibn Muljam al Sarimi/al Muradi.

Maybe you're referring to with al-Ash`ath ibn Qays al Kindi whose real name was Ma`di Karib Abu Muhammad?

But there were many who got blessed with wisdom and not with prophethood, it could be any of the 13 infallibles?

He is not an Imam, the name is mentioned in the Quran clearly.

Extra thing to the question if u know who he is state a verse of the Quran that states that. :D:P

Sorry, I am making a correction here. The word used in the Quran was Ummi

5:157

SHAKIR: Those who follow the Messenger-Prophet, the Ummi, whom they find written down with them in the Taurat and the Injeel (who) enjoins them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful to them the good things and makes unlawful to them impure things, and removes from them their burden and the shackles which were upon them; so (as for) those who believe in him and honor him and help him, and follow the light which has been sent down with him, these it is that are the successful.

^ I'm sorry that's not it.

I would've waited until someone else had a go at it (so I'm giving the right answer), but Ramadan's ending soon... we should get as much questions as possible!

The correct answer is 'Ahmad' ( ÃÍãÏ ).

æóÅöÐú ÞóÇáó ÚöíÓóì ÇÈúäõ ãóÑúíóãó íóÇ Èóäöí ÅöÓúÑóÇÆöíáó Åöäöøí ÑóÓõæáõ Çááóøåö Åöáóíúßõã ãõøÕóÏöøÞðÇ áöøãóÇ Èóíúäó íóÏóíóø ãöäó ÇáÊóøæúÑóÇÉö æóãõÈóÔöøÑðÇ ÈöÑóÓõæáò íóÃúÊöí ãöä ÈóÚúÏöí ÇÓúãõåõ ÃóÍúãóÏõ ÝóáóãóøÇ ÌóÇÁåõã ÈöÇáúÈóíöøäóÇÊö ÞóÇáõæÇ åóÐóÇ ÓöÍúÑñ ãõøÈöíäñ {6}

And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the messenger of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Messenger who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. (61:6)

Which verse in the Qur'an is known as Ayat al Shahadah (Ayah of Testimony)?

Bro Basim,

That would have been my second answer. I know the Injil and Taurat say his name will be ahmed. But you asked for a verse from the Quran, and I wasn't sure about the verse you have given me. Thank You!! Now I know. :)

Someone else please post more questions. I have nothing.

Why cudnt u jst copy/paste the verse here rather than adding that site.

I reckon u shud paste it on here (eng & arabic), cause even when I click on that site, it doesn't directly link me to the verse, I have to keep clicking on the next page 10 times or so.

O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. Let no scribe refuse to write as Allah has taught him. So let him write and let the one who has the obligation dictate. And let him fear Allah, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if the one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable to dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring to witness two witnesses from among your men. And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses - so that if one of the women errs, then the other can remind her. And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is small or large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of Allah and stronger as evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between you, except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write it. And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed or any witness. For if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in you. And fear Allah. And Allah teaches you. And Allah is Knowing of all things. (282)

Surely the (true) religion with Allah is Islam, and those to whom the Book had been given did not show opposition but after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves; and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning. (3:18-19)

Abu Jahl used to beat Zunairah severely; so did Umar before he embraced Islam. Before Umar ibn al-Khattab's conversion his harsh treatment of his convert slaves was well known.

(bismillah)

John bin Huwai, of Ethiopia, was probably a convert from Christianity as his name suggests. He was a slave of Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, the famous companion of the Prophet. After the death of Abu Dharr, he attached himself to the Ahlul Bayt who were looking after him. He accompanied Imam Husayn to Karbala, and although by this time an old man he tried to go to the battle-field to fight. Imam Husayn at first refused; but John persisted and, at last, the Imam allowed him to go to the battlefield. When he fell down, Imam Husayn went to his corpse, put his head on his lap, and asked God to illuminate the face of John. When people of the tribe of Asad came after three days to bury the martyrs, they were astonished to find a corpse which was shining with heavenly light and enveloped in heavenly perfume. It was John's corpse.
