My first Ramadhan . . . Well, not my first, but the first one that I will be actually fasting. So worried that I'll get too thirsty. :/

InshaAllah you'll be ok bro. Just try to eat something substantial for suhoor and enough water, but not too much to make you sick.

Also, try not to sleep for too long during the day. You'll wake up with a dry mouth which will be uncomfortable for the rest of the day.

لَيْتَ شِعْرِي،

Did my mother bear me for wretchedness?

alilsh-shaqaaa-i waladat-neee um-mee

أَلِلشَّقاءِ وَلَدَتْنِي أُمّـِي،

Did she nurture me for suffering?

am lil-a'naaa-i rab-bat-nee

أَمْ لِلْعَناءِ رَبَّتْنِي؟

If such, then I wish that she had not borne me and had not nurtured me!

falay-tahaa lam talid-nee wa lam turab-binee

فَلَيْتَهَا لَمْ تَلِدْنِي وَلَمْ تُرَبّـِنِي،

I wish that I had knowledge - Have You appointed me one of the people of felicity?

wa lay-tanee a'lim-tu amin ah-lis-saa'dati jaa'l-tanee

وَلَيْتَنِي عَلِمْتُ أَمِنْ أَهْلِ السَّعادَةِ جَعَلْتَنِي؟

Cool. Can you put a number on how much more you know than him?

A number? How do you want me to measure...?

Anyway, I never said I knew more than him. I don't know what your trying to prove. Although, it is clearly evident that he isnt making much use of that "knowledge" he has, is he now? It would appear a lot of us have more common sense than some.

You said: "Fitna or no Fitna, he knows what he's talking about." my reply is... The man simply doesn't. He has some strange obsession with Aisha, the 3 caliphs and homosexuality. That's all you hear when he speaks. Just speaking ill about people whom others hold in high regard. You know what thats called? Stupidity

Does he have any lectures that don't involve Aisha, Abu Bakr, Umar, homosexuality or insulting our Scholars?

Does he have any lectures on Tawheed? Allah (swt) ? The Prophet (pbuh&hf)? The Imams (as)?

He is a problem, no one should take this guy seriously.

If you can't give me an accurate measurement that you know more than him, why should I accept what you're saying as opposed to al-Habib?

I never said you had to accept what I said. But why do you accept what he says and take his words over an actual Scholar and Marja? Perhaps because both you and Habbib are Anit- Sunni? Because I'm not abusing my own Brothers and sisters in Islam by insulting them, their School and people they respect like this "sheykh" is. It's called tolerance and commen sense.

I don't really understand where you're going with that. He has many lectures that are on topic that are important. Just because other sheikhs are afraid to speak out doesn't mean that they should. There are somethings that need to be discussed.

Important? Your kidding right?

What benefit has this guy brought? Zilch. What kind of "sheykh" celebrates the death anniversary of the Prophet's (pbuh&hf) wife?

The unmentionables and homosexuality are important topics. If you disagree, then you are ignorant. You are speaking ill of him, and some people hold him in high regard. Are you suggesting that you, yourself, are stupid?

Wow, it just gets better. We already know what certain individuals did, it's recorded in history. There is no need to wrap a turban on ones head get a video camera and make a vid to post on YouTube of blasting and insulting them. Our Imams never did this garbage. Look at how Imam Ali (as) treated Aisha... Did he allow his companions or himself to insult or degrade her? No. Look at Imam Al-Hussain (as) when someone tried to get a rise out of him they asked him of his opinion of Yazid. This person was trying to get a reaction out of our Imam, Hussain could of said anything he wanted but he replied back saying: "Yazid is a good poet." Or something along those lines.

Look at the Ahklaq of our the AhlulBayt (as) and then look at what the "scholar" is saying.

Thank you Brother for pointing out the irony. You have an issue with me speaking ill of him and that others hold him in high regard but you don't seem understand that's exactly what he is doing to our Sunni Brothers & Sisters.

Oh well, I don't agree with you or him. I must be, as you said: "Ignorant."

There's no need. Other men of knowledge have an abundance of those. He saw a lack of information on the unmentionables and homosexuality, so he started speaking about them. It's really that simple.

No need? or he only specialises in the field of abuse and insults?

As long as there are people who do not follow the Qur'an there will always be a need to spread the word of Allah with Ahklaq. Not spread garbage with ignorance and hatred.

Why?

His actions speak for themselves.

I don't accept what he says OVER an actual scholar and marja. He makes good lectures, that's all. And I am NOT anti-Sunni. I used to be a Sunni. I was a Sunni for most of my Islamic life. Sunnis are our brothers and sisters in Islam and deserved to be treated with respect. However, if you think that Umar, Abu Bakr, Uthman, Muawiya or Yazid deserve to be treated with respect, then how can you say you love Ahlul Bayt? I'm not saying we need to go out and use curse words against them, not at all. That's idiotic. But tabarra is WAJIB. Even the great scholars and marja' send lanat upon these guys.

How can these issues NOT be important? Do you really not care at all about the history of your religion?

What benefit has he brought? Knowledge. You don't have to agree with everything he says or does. I certainly don't. That's called having an opinion. However, there is a difference between opinion and fact. Yasser al-Habib points out FACTS. Does he give his opinion? Yes. Do I always agree with it? No. But does learning the PROPER history benefit me? Yes.

Again, I do not agree with all of his OPINIONS. I personally do not think that swearing at anyone is appropriate, but knowledge is knowledge. I did NOT know much about ANY of these topics until I started watching his videos. And, by the way, it's not a load of garbage. I have checked his sources, and it's all TRUE. His opinions might not be, but when he presents something as FACT, it actually is. Are there other sources of knowledge? Absolutely. I don't understand why you have to attack me just because I like to listen to one particular speaker.

Au contraire. You can have whatever opinion about him you want. I was just pointing out that it's ironic that you say insulting people that others hold in high regard is idiotic, yet you did it in the same post. I actually agree with you. Using swears against people is wrong. I don't think, as you seem to, that it goes only for people that are held in high regard. I don't think you should swear against anyone. Pointing out facts is not swearing, though. I didn't come right out and say that you are ignorant. I said "The unmentionables and homosexuality are important topics. If you disagree, then you are ignorant." Do you think they are unimportant? You haven't really been clear about that.

If you truly believe that, you have never watched any of his lectures.

You're falling into the same trap that the Sunnis do. "All Shias are absolute filth because they hit themselves and swear at the sahabah." "Yasser al-Habib is a bad lecturer because he does stuff that I don't agree with."

I have a question. Have you ever actually watched an al-Habib lecture, or are you just hating on him because it's the popular thing to do? I can't really tell. You don't seem to know anything about his lectures, and there has been a lot of Yasser al-Habib hate recently. Have you watched his lectures and come to the conclusion that you do not like him, or do you just keep repeating the garbage that others do?

Brother, I don't need this. We both don't. It's Ramadan. Yes, I have seen a few of his lectures. Nothing special.

If you believe watching his lectures are beneficial and will take you closer to Allah (swt) then, by all means continue watching them.

Salaam alaykum,
