Germany detains Daesh suspects over attack plan

German police detained three people in the western city of Offenbach Tuesday on suspicion of planning a bomb attack on behalf of the Daesh militant group, prosecutors said.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):

The three suspects wanted to kill as many people as possible in the planned attack in the Rhine-Main region, Frankfurt prosecutor Nadja Niesen said in a statement.

No specific attack targets were yet known but evidence seized from raids of three homes in Offenbach should shed some light, she added.

The main suspect is a 24-year-old German of Macedonian origin who wanted to manufacture explosives and had tried to buy a weapon online. His two accomplices are Turkish nationals aged 22 and 21.

The three suspects are believed to have told people in the past that they identified themselves as Daesh supporters, Niesen said.

Substances that could be used to make explosives and equipment were found at the main suspect's home, she said. The authorities also secured written documents and electronic data.

Niesen said a decision would be made on Wednesday on whether all three suspects or only one would be brought before the investigating judge at a court in Frankfurt.

The judge will decide whether to issue an arrest warrant and order pre-trial detention.

Pregnant Muslim woman violently attacked in Sydney cafe (+Video)

https://en.abna24.com/news//pregnant-Muslim-woman-violently-attacked-in-sydney-cafe-video_988698.html

November 23, 2019 - 1:32 PM News Code : 988698 Source : Press TV, ABNA24Link:

A pregnant Muslim woman who was targeted in a vicious attack while sitting in a cafe in Sydney says she fears for the world children will grow up in if racism is not addressed.

Rana Elasmar, a 31-year-old woman 38 weeks pregnant, was with her friends at a cafe in Parramatta on Wednesday night when a man approached her table.

CCTV footage showed the man having a brief conversation with the group before he began punching the victim several times and stomping on her head when she eventually fell to the floor.

Police have arrested 43-year-old Stipe Lozina and charged him with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

After Elasmar was released from Westmead Hospital, where she was taken for observation and assessment of her unborn child, she posted a message on Facebook saying the incident wasn't the first time she had experienced racism, but was still shocked her attacker could be so cruel.

She noted that members of the Muslim community were familiar with being on the receiving end of Islamophobia.

"I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I am a Muslim," Elasmar said.

"I have experienced occurrences of verbal abuse and hate from other Australians in the past, but I have never thought that physical abuse of this nature could happen to me," she said.

Elasmar hoped the justice system lives up to its name.

“I fear for the world our children will grow up in if this is not addressed. I call all Australians, Muslim and non-Muslim, to stand together in protecting innocent people from any racial or religious attacks.”

The assault occurred in the same week a study was released in Australia, showing women wearing headscarves were at the most risk of Islamophobic attacks.

Lozina appeared without legal representation at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday as he applied unsuccessfully for bail. He will remain behind bars until at least next month.
The accused asked for the case to be rescheduled to a date when he had another matter due to be heard in court.

Lozina was refused bail and will next appear in court on December 5

Now for the first time since the Balkan Wars, Adhan is recited and heard in the mosque again.

Ali Pasha Mosque was built in 1573 at the order of the Ottoman rulers.

German president visits mosque in Penzberg

German president visits mosque in Penzberg

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called for more understanding and respect between religions after visiting a mosque in the southern town of Penzberg on Monday, according to the DPA news agency.

Speaking to the local Imam of the mosque, Benjamin Idriz, he said what is taking place in Penzberg and at the mosque is exactly what he wants for his country: “Curiosity for each other and respect for each other" as seen in everyday life.

"In this respect, something is happening here that we really want to have: that the growing together of people of different faiths is as respectful as we experience it here in Penzberg," Steinmeier added.

The German head of state praised the commitment of the Islamic community in the town but also thanked the people of Penzberg for embracing the Islamic community with so much openness and respect.

In this respect, Penzberg could be a model for many communities, especially in urban areas, according to Steinmeier.

Several hundred people demonstrated on the occasion of Steinmeier's visit for more tolerance and cosmopolitanism and far outnumbered the handful of supporters of the far-right populist PEGIDA movement.

Germany has witnessed growing Islamophobia in recent years sparked by hate propaganda of far-right parties.

Police recorded 813 hate crimes against Muslims last year, including verbal insults, threatening letters and physical attacks.

More than 100 mosques and religious institutions were attacked by far-right extremists in 2018.

A country of over 83 million people, Germany is home to the second-largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France.

Man carrying knife tries to enter Leeds mosque

Man carrying knife tries to enter Leeds mosque

A man was detained after trying to enter a mosque in Beeston, Leeds, carrying a knife.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):

West Yorkshire Police said "mental health appears to be a factor".

Officers received a report of a man with a knife acting suspiciously after going into a butcher’s shop in Beeston Road at 12.18pm on Friday.

He left the shop and officers were sent to the area to search for him.

Police received another call reporting what is believed to be the same man with a knife trying to enter the mosque in Catherine Grove.

He was turned away and walked off towards Cross Flatts Park.

Superintendent Chris Bowen, of Leeds District, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances around these incidents but at this stage mental health appears to be a factor.

“We have been liaising with representatives in the community to reassure them following these incidents given the understandable concern it will have caused and we will be keeping them updated.”

The mosque opened in September 2018 after a ten year fundraising campaign by the local Kashmir Muslim community.Their former base in Hardy Street was subject to an arson attack last year. Leeds Imam Qari Asim, who is also a trustee for charity Hope Not Hate, said: "A key issue in a majority of these cases is mental health, then other factors may get added onto that such as ideological or political grievances."

Mr. Asim said it was "unfortunate" that a time of rising mental health issues, that problems are only dealt with when they manifest themselves in these types of actions.

"The infrastructure doesn't exist early on and people's needs are not met," he said.

"Some people just need someone to listen to their concerns and issues."

Erdogan slams French President’s remarks on Islam

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday slammed his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for using the expression of "Islamic terrorism" without knowing the true meaning of Islam.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA):
"The head of France talks about Islamic terrorism at the NATO summit," Erdogan said at a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, referring to NATO's 70th-anniversary summit held in London last week.

"I told him that the meaning of Islam is peace. How can you combine the words, peace and terror, by using the expression of Islamic terrorism?" remarked the Turkish leader.

Speaking about the ongoing Yellow Vests demonstrations in France against increasing living costs, Erdogan called on Macron to solve the issue as soon as possible.

"Why can't you solve it? Why can't you stop it?" he asked.

Late last month, Erdogan lashed out at Macron over his comment about NATO in which the French president said the alliance was experiencing a "brain death."

"First, have your own brain death checked," Erdogan said then of Macron who had criticized Turkey's military operation in northern Syria.

Russian supermarket turned into mosque

Given the lack of places of worship for Muslims in the Russian capital, Moscow, they have turned a supermarket into a mosque.

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Given the lack of places of worship for Muslims in the Russian capital, Moscow, they have turned a supermarket into a mosque.

According to the Iranian Cultural Center in Moscow, Muslims in the city often have difficulty finding a place in which to say their prayers, especially Friday prayers.

Recently, they rented a building in the Zyablikovo District south of the capital which was formerly used as a supermarket.

They have since used it as a mosque.

Neighbors have complained about the number of cars parked in the area by Muslims on Friday but Anar Ramezanov, the mosque’s Imam, says the worshippers make every effort to avoid making troubles for neighbors.

There are around 25 million Muslims in Russia today, a rise of 40 per cent since 1989.

Assalaam Malaikum,

I'll just add my two cents worth on the issue of islamophobia with regards to the west. The perception and disinformation that exists in regards to Islam and against Muslims in general in the west is part and partial to the anti-social offensive against all of humanity that is organized (deliberate conscious action to deprive human beings their human rights) by the ruling classes. the ruling classes & its mechanisms of elected governance are based on contradictions within its own political economy that puts in first place politics of "Might makes right" and in the last place human rights of all.  Because society is organized in such a backwards way, organized in a way that cannot meet nor defend the rights of all who live and striving to live here.  The solution for Muslims, as well as the body politic is to organize and put an end to this backwards organization of society. This requires nothing less than a re-organization of society in which the rights of all come first and there is no place for politics of "Might makes right" to exist. That is my opinion.

Bulgaria: Slovenia Opened its First Mosquewww.pixabay.com

The first mosque in Slovenia was opened in the country's capital Ljubljana, AFP reported. This happened after overcoming a number of financial obstacles and defeating right-wing opposition parties, 50 years after the request for its construction was officialy made.

Opponents of the project - including those who criticize its Qatari funding - have repeatedly tried to stop it.

Slovenia is the last former Yugoslav state to get a mosque, making Ljubljana a capital rather than a provincial town on the edge of the world,” he told a press conference.

Germany's Muslims demand protection at mosques

Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA): Police in Germany last week said it uncovered right-wing terrorists who were plotting to attack Muslims and asylum-seekers. Islamic groups are calling on the government to do more to protect them.

Muslim groups in Germany have called on the government to do more to protect mosques, after a dozen members of a right-wing terror cell were arrested on Friday.

Quote

"The state must have an interest" in protecting mosque communities, said Aiman Mazyek, chair of the central council of Muslims in Germany (IGMG), in an interview with German magazine der Spiegel.

He called for "a visible police presence at mosques where past attacks and assaults had taken place, above all during busy times, such as during Friday prayers."

"We should not have to use private security companies to protect our mosque communities and lead talks to provide instruction on what to do if there is an attack," added Mazyek.

IGMG said the state has the duty to provide for the safety of its citizens, adding that "Muslims also belong to this group,"a spokesperson for the IGMG in Cologne said on Monday.

DITIB, which also has close links to Turkey, said both politicians and society must take a clear stand against violence on Germany's Muslim community.

The "silence of the majority, including in both politics and society when it comes to attacks on Muslims could be taken as "tacit consent."

Chancellor Angela Merkel's spokesman, Steffen Seibert, on Monday said: "It is the task of the state, and of course of this government, to protect the free practice of religion in this country, no matter what religion it is."

Police protection in Germany is decided on a state-by-state basis.

It’s on us Muslims to show the west the true nature of Islam. Because it’s not that people are scared of true Islam, they’re scared of different misconceptions they have about Islam. If we work to clear those up, islamophobia will surely decrease. But we must be educated, as the anti-Islamic people know verses of the Qur'an that they will point to, and we will need to counter. The general “Islam is a religion of peace” argument won’t work here, we’re dealing with some advanced opposition.

and we need to show them that Shia Islam is radically different from the Wahhabi Islam they point to. They will reply back with "well don't you still believe in the same Qur'an that says kill the infidels, etc?" We have to show them what we really believe, backed with strong evidence and support.

Islamophobia in United States of America;

Islamophobia in US: Starbucks Barista writes ISIS on Muslim girl's cup

Quote

The 19-year-old said that the barista asked her to repeat her name when they were taking her drink order. However, when Aishah was handed her beverage, it had the word “Isis” written on it instead of her name. Could this have been a mistake? Not likely.

Understandably, Aishah was shocked and horrified. She told BuzzFeed News that she felt a lot of emotions and shock was the main one. She said, “I actually couldn’t believe this was happening.” Aishah believes this happened to her because she was wearing a face mask and a hijab. As a result of the incident, individuals and organizations have rallied around the young woman. Mohamed Ibrahim is the deputy director of the Minnesota chapter of Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) and he said this on Monday at a press conference about the incident: “This is a reminder that Islamophobia is alive and present in our communities.”

Ibrahim’s organization assisted Aishah in filing a human rights complaint with the Minnesota Department of Human rights the same day of the press conference. Aishah said that the barista told her that she misheard her name and that’s why she wrote “Isis” on the cup, and a manager at the Starbucks intervened and said that people’s names are often misspelled on cups. In Aishah’s mind, these explanations are neither “credible or acceptable.”

German Football Club Give Anti-Muslim Fan the Boot

Quote

In the face of Islamophobic remarks by one of its supporters on Tuesday, German football side Koln gave the fan his walking papers.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): As posted by the club on Twitter, the unidentified fan wrote to the Bundesliga club saying: “Today I have come to the realization that FC will be playing in kits that have a mosque on them. Due to the fact that I can’t identify with Muslims and mosques, I am now making known my exit from the religious organization.”

The club’s logo still features the Cologne Cathedral, but in a silhouette cityscape on the club’s shirt, the shape of a mosque is visible.

But the club gave no quarter to this anti-Muslim fan, according to Anadolu Agency.

Above an image of the fan’s note on Twitter, the club wrote simply: "We received notice from a member who wanted to cancel their membership due to the mosque on our kit. To that, we say: goodbye and thanks for the idea!"

Germany, a country of over 81 million people, has the second-largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France.

The country has nearly 4.7 million Muslims -- 3 million of Turkish origin -- and according to estimates, over 11% of Cologne’s population is Muslim.

Just show them that Islam is entirely about worshipping God and obeying him while being tested by this life he has given us until death arrives and then he will judge accordingly . That Islam is only about worshipping God through following the way of Prophet Muhammad and Ahlul Bayt . It has nothing at all to do with terrorism . Tell the people that's just from bad salafis and not representation of Islam and all muslims. Tell them don't conclude their judgements about Islam , The Holy Quran , Prophet Muhammad , etc as these are very extremely vast topics that require years of studying to understand . If they can't write a tafseer of a Surah then they can't at all make judgements about The Holy Quran . So if they insult just tell them to try and write the seerah or tafseer of a surah . If they say they can't then that's clear proof to everyone with a brain that they are illogically judging Islam

Demonstration held in Lyon in support of Muslims after Arson attack

Quote

According to LeParisien, nearly 200 people gathered in front of the Essallem Mosque, in Lyon on Friday to denounce the recent arson attacks on two Muslim places of worship and express their solidarity with the Muslim community.

The Mosque was damaged in an arson attempt on Wednesday night.

The fire destroyed the door to the entrance and the prayer room in the mosque.

The public prosecutor's office of Lyon believes the act was of a criminal origin and an investigation has been launched.

Worshippers attended Friday prayers in a local gym. «Our mosque has burnt, so we did not have other options than to use this gym for our Friday prayers which has been granted by the city. Where are we supposed to pray? We cannot use our mosque,» said one attendee.

The first of the two mosques to be damaged in a fire this week was Omar Mosque of Bron, which occurred on Friday. Both are believed to be deliberate. No arrests have been made yet.

Islamophobia in Europe;

Controversial Danish politician plans to burn Holy Quran in Sweden

Quote

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hard Line party leader Rasmus Paludan, who has made a name for himself with anti-Islamic taunts, described the upcoming Quran burning in an immigrant-heavy area as “the least he could do” to help “Sweden's occupied enclaves”.

Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Danish nationalist party Hard Line, who rose to prominence for Islam-critical performances that include Quran-burnings, intends to expand his activities northward and pay a visit to neighbouring Sweden.

By his own admission, Paludan was invited to burn the Quran by street artist Dan Park. The Quran burning will take place on 28 August near a mosque in Malmö's immigrant heavy Rosengård district.

Paludan described the action as “standing up for his brotherly people” in Sweden.

“Our Swedish brothers are being exterminated in their own country, so the least we can do to help them is to show up in one of their occupied enclaves and tell our honest opinion about the Quran”, Paludan said in a statement. “The Quran will burn in Rosengard”, the party wrote.

Swedish street artist Dan Park is no stranger to controversy either, and has been arrested, fined, and sentenced to jail for hate speech in Swedish Courts several times for his art.

One of his notable works includes a poster depicting triple murderer Juha Valjakkala posing with a shotgun and the text “A Man’s Gotta Do What a Man’s Gotta Do”.

There's hardly any "Islamophobia" in urban North America. I've never been to Europe, but I heard it's pretty bad there. Any Muslim living in Europe can please explain what the situation is like there? I was planning on visiting before the lockdown, every time I asked fellow Muslims about the situation in Germany, for example, I got mixed answers.

I don't know how the Muslim diaspora is spread over America but here Muslims tend to live next to each other which creates these neighborhoods or even cities with practically only Muslims or people of a specific ethnicity. So naturally when local people see these cities they tend to get scared, even if the Muslim population of the whole country is like 2%. So generally people who live outside and/or near these cities tend to have more (extreme) right views, whereas those who live far away or are accustomed with the Muslim population in the city itself are quite liberal.

Ghettoization is very healthy and natural instinct for Muslim minorities (even pious, observant Muslim minorities in non-observant Muslim majority countries and societies). Sadly, this is a problem in North America, as Muslims are way too spread out and tend to be assimilated. The reason is North America's Muslim immigrant community (and we their children) tends to be professional and highly educated, unlike the Muslims of Europe, who largely went there to work as labor and guest workers. But there are areas in North America where Muslims are concentrated, like Dearborn, Michigan, and Peel Region of Ontario (where I'm from).

As I understand it, part of what contributes (or contributed) to Islamophobia in Germany was the mischief of Syrian refugees, particularly the infamous New Year's Eve attacks of 2015-2016. Obviously, the type of Muslim refugees that are involved in such scandalous behavior aren't the religious type of Muslims, but sadly, the entire Muslim community has to suffer backlash because of their stupidity.

In a statement, Ahl Al-Bayt World Assembly condemned the anti-Islamists' decision to burn the Holy Qur'an in Malmö, Sweden.

Quote

Denouncing this inhumane act of anti-Islamists, the Assembly called on the Swedish government and security and law enforcement agencies to prevent the escalating of the situation and the hurting of the feelings of the Muslims worldwide by immediately revoking the permit for this gathering.

A part of this statement reads, "The illegal and unprincipled action of the Swedish political authorities and police in issuing a gathering permit for anti-Islamists, who are devoid of rationality, spirituality, and humanity and have no knowledge of the message of the Muslim holy book - the Holy Qur'an , is deeply regrettable for us."

Just because his first name is Karl and the surname begins with the letter M, does not mean he's Karl Marx :sign_welcome:

Oops, my mistake. Some kind of Freudian slip, I read Karl M___ and my mind filled in Marx. At any rate, I absolutely hate Marxism, socialism, communism with a fiery passion.
