Imam Ali (s) Help Umar And Uthma?

Salaam,

I wanted to know why did Imam Ali (S) help Uthman when he was in trouble. he sent Muhammad bin Abubakr to negotiate between Uthman and his rivals and Imam Hasan and Husain were at his door guarding the door.. so the mobs not barge in and kill uthman. but Uthman was a deviant.. sunnis usually bring this topic and say that uthman was good and ali was his friend. why else would he help uthman?

If anyone can shed some light please. I have no doubt that Uthman was an unjust person.

the story of hasan and hussain as personal guards of uthman is likely true as hashimites were kinsmen of uthman , so the dilemma of ali

was

Most critics of uthman are his supporters AND they are right in most of their demands

YET uthman keeps asking ali again and again to bail him out of stressful situations while marwan keeps abusing ali and his supporters

ali had an obligation to help him till he though uthman might reform himself but after all hope was lost he stopped guiding him and seperated himself from the crisis

there is an ahadith of muhammad hannafiyyah in which ali sends him with zakat instructions to uthman but uthman rebukes him severely after which ali stops guiding uthman

ibn abu bakr to negotiate ? thats surprising ...ibn abu bakr was a strong opponent of uthman he wudnt be saying anything to save uthman

rather ur story seems like the version given in the iranian flick of ali in kufa ...its an attempt to shift blame from ibn abubakr of killing uthman

I guess he preferred Uthmaan (ra) over Muawiyah. As for Umar (ra), again he knew he could not become the calipah, so he decided to assist Islam.

according to me, since Imam Ali was the rightful caliph, he took it as his right to guide those who were going astray. so when Uthman and Umar asked for help,Imam did not ignore them but instead offered his help. when Umar and Uthman had any problems, Imam helped them like he would have done for any human.

i remember this storyi was told once that there was a widow who was herd by the Imam cursing the Imam for sending her Husband who was a father to war and getting him killed instead of fighting himself. Imam offered his help when he saw her struggle and she agreed without knowing who he was. they went to her home together and he cooked for her and put kids at comfort. the next day he came even earlier to help out. later the woman asked him who he was and he revealed his identity. the women was taken back by his actions and she asked for forgiveness and became a Muslim. If the Imam did this for a woman who cursed him in front of him, then i think he did help Umar and Uthman as he is our role model and we learn from his action.

Why did Imam Ali (as) hep out 'Umar and 'Uthman? Because he was a sincere mu'min who cared about the affairs of the ummah and who focused on serving Allah(swt) above anything else.

EDIT: And the rest of us should follow his (as) example in serving the ummah and desiring unity. As Shaheed al-Sadr (ra) said, "The life of any being is not measured except by how much he can give to his ummah" and i recall something similar being said in a hadith.

its in the commentary of Nahjulbagha. he just plainly said it.. but its very nicely written in details .. you should read it.

i have read it , commentary is added later cannot be taken on face value. muhammad wud not have done anything to save uthman it wud be foolish to think that.Marwans orders were to have muhammad killed in egypt ! why wud he want to spare uthman at that time and i dont blame him either
