I'd like to add another one: International Standard Version (www.isv.org).

It's an almost finished translation, except for Isaiah.

Thank you for responding brother. Peace

Actually though there are many "versions" of the bible they don't disagree with one another, and they typically have all the same books in the same order, so really not different than the Quran in that way. There is no superiority of one book over the other. I think if you read several vs you will find that they have slight differences the KJV has all the old english thees and thous, the new standard revised version took those out and uses more modern language.

Again, you are wrong and I have heard the above argument before. It has been mentioned like Quran, the Bible differ from each other in minor matters. As a Muslim you should know there is only one Quran. That the translated Quran is not Quran, and a translation is noting but a transliteration. So as a Muslim you should know that they are not different Quran as they are different Bible. The Catholic Bible has six more books than the Protestant Bible.

1. The Quran is translated by individuals and not by countries, kings, committees or so forth and the original Quran is available in everyone's home. These translated Quran are never endorsed by any Muslims, countries, kings, committees and so forth, as they are nothing but transliteration.

2. The Bible is translated by countries, kings, committees and so forth. The King James Version is a good example. And, these translated Bibles are endorsed by countries, kings, committees and so forth, thus they are taken as real Bible.

3. No one has the original Bible in their homes, maybe they might have the Greek/Latin version, but Jesus discourse to his disciples was in the Aramaic language.

4. And, the Bible translations differs significantly from each other. For example, the KJV has, "Jesus the only begotten son", in NIV the word, "begotten" has been taken out from the main body and subjected to footnote. Within fifty to hundreds years it will be taken out from the footnote too and no one will be alive to remember.

5. Jesus divinity is based on three things, which NIV has removed and mostly subjected it to the footnotes, thus NIV now agrees with the Holy Quran.

The reason I posted all those links is to make it easy for everyone to see what is available. To look for a certain Bible verse, go to the website http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/ then enter the Book and Number, for example Mark 10 and then select the translation version. Click or unclick the options: hide footnotes, hide cross-reference.

As an example of the way the Bible changes over the years, look at Mark 10:18 in the KJV and the New KJV. The newer version capitalizes the word me, to show that Jesus is not a man (as Christians believe or a prophet as Muslims believe). It is capitalized just as the word One (signifying God) has been capitalized, which means that the translators have deified him, astaghfirullah.

King James Version -- Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

New King James Version -- Mark 10:18 So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God."

BTW, I do believe that this is one Bible verse that you can point to and tell others that there is only One God. Not a trinity.

Hi Leda, I see you have now met our resident judge on right and wrong. He's kind of like a monkey on your back. You aren't as wrong as he'd like you to believe.

1. The Quran is translated by individuals and not by countries, kings, committees or so forth and the original Quran is available in everyone's home. These translated Quran are never endorsed by any Muslims, countries, kings, committees and so forth, as they are nothing but transliteration.

Please name the individual(s) that translated the Quran, not the version that was rejected, and not the versions that were burnt. Who the "individual(s) called as a commitee, and how an "original" can be in so many places at once.

2. The Bible is translated by countries, kings, committees and so forth. The King James Version is a good example. And, these translated Bibles are endorsed by countries, kings, committees and so forth, thus they are taken as real Bible.

How does a country write something, and what's so forth?

3. No one has the original Bible in their homes, maybe they might have the Greek/Latin version, but Jesus discourse to his disciples was in the Aramaic language.

Nobody is dumb enough to claim to have an original Bible.

Some wording is changed, but the context is the same, and your cynicisim is a twisted prediction.

5. Jesus divinity is based on three things, which NIV has removed and mostly subjected it to the footnotes, thus NIV now agrees with the Holy Quran.

Jesus divinity is based on a concept started in Nicea, why I dunno, but nothing was removed as even the KJV doesn't support it. You have yet to show me where, (in any biblical "transliteration") it supports Divinity, or trinity.

Brother, what do you mean by this?

I don't know much about the Bible, so can you just answer these quick questions:

  1. What is the original language of the Bible?
  2. Does anybody have this Bible with the original language at their home?
  3. Can the Bible (in its original language) be found online?

Thank you

Wassalam

The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew, The New Testament was written partially in Hebrew or Aramaic, but mostly in Koine Greek.

I believe Placid has the New Testament in it's original Greek language on one page and the English interpretation on the opposite page.

I haven't looked for the Bible in it's original language online. It really wouldn't do me a lot of good anyway. I'm limited to English and French.

You should be able to find something HERE
