Question About Burial

Rate this topic

(salam)

I was reading Ayatollah Fadlallah's book, and he mentions this about when the body is buried "The body should be laid to

rest on its right side with the face and the front pointing towards the qiblah. Thus, the face

should be to the right and the feet to the left in relation to the qiblah. Should the direction of the

qiblah not be determined due to lack of knowledge, the body should be laid to face any

direction the qiblah believed to be in. If this is not feasible too, any direction would do."

so it got me thinking how does that look, the face to the right and the feet to the left? and how is that meant? can someone explain?, does that mean just point the feet away or bend them entirely to the left and or bend back the whole leg? or turn them to the side. or does this mean the bottom part of the foot thus making the foot straight and letting the bottom part face the left? i have never been to a funeral for a muslim yet, so this is new to me and would like to figure this one out somewhat insha Allah if i can.

I believe it is explaining that if you are standing facing qibla and the body is on the ground in front of you, the face should be to the right of qibla and the feet should be left of it.

this is to my understanding for when the body is placed into the grave, it is said to turn it on it's right side facing the qibla, and i suspect the feet mean the bottom of the foot perhaps, making them tips of the toes face downward the the bottom face left.

I got translation from Google translator so i don't know if its perfect.

(bismillah)

Q) I have a question on the book in part about Mr. bury the deceased and I would like to explain this matter, Mr. Fadlallah: the body must be placed on the forehead and right direction towards the front face and kiss must therefore be the face to the right and feet to the north for the kiss if you can not determine True because of lack of knowledge must be made about which direction the head is believed to be tribal If this is also possible the head can be directed towards any direction, a question about the need for money to be the feet of any part of the feet is intended Osfb feet or fingertips or by foot, Can I get a detailed explanation about this?

A) Intended to be on the right side and inwardly to the Qibla
