Farmer, among other things.

Although I have 8 years of experience as a civil engineer and worked on a couple of internationally renowned projects, and although in the past I've been a computer science junkie and a programmer as well, hacked a few famous websites as a hobby, and used to own a lot of shares in an international engineering firm, I got tired of sitting behind a desk in a god awful city full of greedy people.

Who knows what I'll be doing next. Maybe its just me but I think life and this world should be explored as much as it deserves, instead of tying yourself up with a single profession for all your life. Perhaps I'll try to find a job on a big merchant ship next, or something adventurous of that sort. Perhaps even do a MS or pursue another education course, money permitting, just for some fun. Right now I'm broke to be completely honest and waiting for my cotton harvest buyer to send me the cheque. :D

Ah man. I can't wait either LOL. My sugarcane is ready to go. If it wasn't for the bloody supreme court, we sugarcane growers would be sucking money out of your pockets. Ah darn days!

Not really. I'm "self-employed" which is a nice way of saying "mostly unemployed but occasionally have temporary work". Last year at this time I was stressed out because my office was short of work to do. December of last year they cut everyone back to part time, then in January they laid off 1/4 of the staff. If I had money to pay for it, now would be a perfect time to get some more education. I've had it in my plans all along, but it was on hold for until after I got my PE license. On a positive note, I've gotten quite used to being broke and am hardly ever stressed out about it anymore.

Same here!

i guess there is nothing in this life that is satisfactory.. i mean even if you succeed in your profession you are not at ease.. life is not a permanent state of being.. its a journey.. your situation changes all the time..

to be honest, i wouldnt want to be anything else but a doctor, apart from being a student at a housae-illimia offcourse............its such a dream of mine. but as they say grass is always greener on the other side, but i tell ya its appears much much greener from the medic side, i mean this past year and a half i have been been through what not, but alhumdullilah i have utilised it to read up on religion, other wise i would have gone maaaaaaaaaaad..................shiachat , al-islam, aa,maaref foundation etc are such a darling. matyrs mutahiri, bakir al sadr and the like are such good companions....ah just wonderfull

professional bliss can wait, imaan cannot.
