Salam alkum everyone I'm new here

and Im so happy I found this site

I'm originally from Iraq and I've

been living in the USA for 10 years

now that 10 years I never prayed

never followed anything but knew

only about Allah is my god

and Mohammad (SWH) is my rasool

so before Ramadan started I knew

I had to teach my self to pray

because my family dont pray :(

and we hardly talked much about religion

I been researching and reading and I'm

also speaking to someone inshallah we'll get married

if god wells been teaching me a lot of islam and many

nights i sat and think to my self what Allah going to do to me

I dont want to be like the kafreen I dont want to be in jahnam

so I searching youtube on how to pray now I dont know about which

prayer im following but I know that we are Shia and when i pray

my hands are down but I ran into many things that differe when going into

prayer and confuse me sometimes but would it matter how i pray?

would god accept the method of islamic prayer instead of strict shia prayer?

and again I really dont know how shia pray ExCATLY but any of you out there

want to help me out I appricate it because im so lost and I want to find my right

way to pray to Allah

Welcome to the chat. Great that you are feeling a sense of responsibility towards Allah .

Just one thing, in your religious column you have written Shia Islam Non Usooli !!! I find it rather strange, you are just in the process of learing Salat and already you are differing with the main stream Usooli Shias( by far the majority), so have you filled the religious column by choice or by chance ? Good luck to you though......

I don't think its his fault.

I never knew Usooli, non-Usuli division until a few years back.

I don't think we should have that choice.

It promotes unnecessary division and confusion for new comers.
