Oh, I see... firstly I'd like to congratulate you on becoming a Shia =)

I rarely go to IEC, I live in the north, so my 'home' masjid is Dar-e-Abbas and occasionally Ali School, Al Ghadeer, and Al Murtaza

Isn't Dar-e-Abbas and Murtaza like...1 minute away from each other? I've heard they're only used during Muharram.

I don't know where you heard that, but Dar-e-Abbas is about 45 minutes away from Al Murtaza. Ali School on the other hand, is like 5 or so minutes away.

I'm not sure about Al Murtaza, but Dar-e-Abbas has weekly Dua-e-Kumail programs on Fridays and meelads and stuff along with the usual majalis in Moharram.

I might be moving there in a year insh'Allah...

In addition to the stuff mentioned, you should come to Camp Al-Qasim!

Check out the flyer under the heading '2009 Family Weekend Camp Retreat' at IEC's site... they'll have more info on facebook when the date nears:

http://www.iec-houston.org/

Basically, youth from all over Texas- Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, etc- get together every year for some fun recreational activities and a chance to meet people from other communities. We also have religious discussions and a few different 'ulema who come give speeches.
