It is the shari`a of Allah (swt) to take up to 4 wives, as mentioned in the Qur'an.

Do you even read it, rather than rejecting all of its laws on the pretext of batiniya ?

Where is it mentioned in the Qur'an? 4:3?

That was intended for the Arabs as before they had many wives, so the Qur'an is telling them to reduce it to 1 however, if they can't than up to 4 is even okay

Our culture does not allow more than 1 wife

:salam:

I understand your point but culture should not prevail on rules of Allah.

Yes. This verse allows it under certain conditions.

Aga Khan claims:

He is the manifestation (Mazhar) of God (Nauzubillah)

The final report of this Paris Conference was printed in May 5, 1975 from Nairobi, Kenya. It was published by the co-ordinator for the Ismailia Association Central Co-ordination Office, Mr. Eqbal Rupani. Reproduced below is the officially defined "Concept of Imamah", as it appears on page six of the said Paris Conference Report:

"The Imam to be explained as'mazhar' of God, and the relationship between God and the Imam to be related to varying levels of inspiration and communication from God to man"

http://www.ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?69860-Karim-Aga-Khan-Is-he-Muslim

There is a 12.5% inflated zakat given to the Aga Khan yearly

No hijab required, despite Quran verses:

Quran 24:30

“...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their head scarves over their bosoms...”

Quran 33:59

“O Prophet! Say to your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers that: they should let down upon themselves their jalabib (long overgarment.”

(He has never been questioned of this. If he comes to Canada Insha Allah I will go ask him if I can)

He does not even require modest dress. Search up "Aga Khan Vacation" (I can't download them on my phone because my mother would think I'm a creep :hahaha:)

One of the reasons Hanafi and Shia fiqh are so similar is because during the Fatimid era, according to The Advent of the Fatimids, the Shia and Hanafi, both oppressed, would study and work together.

The last Aga Khan was influential within all corcles yet never spoke out about 1917 famine caused by British occupation of Iran or of the British caused famine of India.

Some say the Aga Khan is working to build an Ismaili state in Ismaili-Majority parts of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and China.

Recently, Britain’s oldest wine retailer, Berry Bros. & Rudd, featured in the Teredata magazine’s edition of Q4, 2014 mentions it’s proud history by mentioning it’s largest customer. Among the top three of them, is none other than the Aga Khan

Other evidences of Aga Khan III exhibiting his love for wine and champagne are provided below with references:

“I am so holy that when I drink wine, it turns to water.”

(Lokhandwalla, S. “Islamic Law and Ismailis”. p.162, footnote 16. Citing Greenwell (1952). His Highness Aga Khan)

“He neither smokes nor drinks hard liquor such as cocktails, only wine.“

Greenwall, H. J. (1952) His Highness the Aga Khan. p.52

“Tell me, how is it that you can drink this wine; I thought your religious principles prevented you drinking wine.” The Aga Khan looked at me and he said : “You see, I am so holy that as soon as I drink the wine it turns to water.“

Greenwall, H. J. (1940) I hate to-morrow. p.255.

Also quoted in Group, Diagram Little Giant Encyclopedia of Toasts and Quotes p.66

“The Aga’s 21st birthday party waxed gayly until 5 a.m. at the Savoy Hotel and the spiritual ruler of 20 million Ismaili Moslems kept the champagne flowing to the end for the 300 guests.”

“Aga Khan Dates Mexican Beauty”. Beaver Valley Times. 16 December 1957.

“I last saw the Aga Khan in January, at the Aqua Santa Country Club in Rome. He came in a wheelchair, accompanied by an attractive nurse with whom he shared a bottle of wine. I remembered the story Somerset Maugham told us, of the day the Aga Khan drank champagne in his house. Maugham asked if drinking spirits was not against his religion. The Aga Khan replied that as a god he passed a miracle just as the wine touched his lips, and turned it into water.“

so according to the Aga Khan, I have to deal with avoiding any alcohol once I go onto university and even here in high school, but he's so holy he gets a free pass through all that!!?!?!?!?!??!?!

@Ismailite

I quote the following from the link that you have shared:

Quote

Imam Shah Karim al-Husayni Aga Khan IV is the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shi‘i Ismaili Muslims. By defining himself as the hereditary Imam of the Ismailis, Imam Shah Karim al-Husayni claims the following roles and status:

• the holder of a divinely-ordained leadership office, called the Imamat, which succeeds to the spiritual and moral authority of the Prophet Muhammad
• responsible for providing an infallible interpretation of Islam with respect to any time/context of human history and with respect to the esoteric meaning of the Revelation to Muhammad.

Can you please share Ismaili position (preferably an official one and with appropriate references) regarding the following questions:

1. While the primary responsibility of a divine representative of God (i.e the Imam) may be to provide infallible interpretation of Islam, they should technically also be able to answer questions in relation to other sciences whether to help the global society as a whole or to prove to the skeptics that they are indeed representatives of God. After all, knowledge is the strong domain of infallible Imams through which they can reason with the human beings. Do Ismailis agree with this thought? If not, why not? If so, can the current Ismaili Imam put himself to the test? Has he made himself open to all sorts of questions, not just in relation to Islam but to all types of knowledge known or not known to mankind?

2. Is there a way to directly or indirectly communicate with him and ask questions?

3. What are the criteria of becoming an Ismaili Imam? Chosen by predecessor on the basis of merits and qualifications? Chosen by God and announced by the predecessor? Or other qualifications?

Thank you

As matter of fact, it's impossible that mu'min kills mu'min on purpose (to sacrifice him/her); and it's forbidden for mu'min to marry a person who commits zina. But, one who commits zina can change themselves, if Allah swt wills so.

There're even much bigger sins then these two and people mostly don't pay too much attention on them. One obvious is: eating what is not halal (allowed) and tayyib (good) and not doing shukr (thanks) to Allah swt while/after eating. This is one form of fisq.

Allah swt knows best.

Quran 24:30

head scarves=khimar in Arabic

In the words of Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, women in Arabia would wear a long scarf tied around their head that had a tail behind their backs. This was called a khimar. So this verse instructs them to have their scarves tied in front.

Quran 33:59

“O Prophet! Say to your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers that: they should let down upon themselves their jalabib.”

Jalabib=long overgarment

So women should have a scarf tied around their head, then an overgarment like a chador on top. These are the verses in the Quran proving this.

Not everyone can be an Alevi anyways.

Salam,

At what period did the Agha khani Ismaïlis dua replace Salah ?

How did the community react ?

By the way, do you have Ulama and madressa or hawza system ?

Aga Khanis never replaced Salah with Ismaili dua.

Let me give you my prospective on this. To understand this you have to go back in history. Ismailis of Indian sub continent were attracted towards Ismailism based on Sufi and Shia principles. Ismaili dais from Egypt, Iran and Central Asia use to visit India and guide Ismailis. Huge amount of hindus were converted to Ismailism. But then King Aurangzeb became king of India. He was very strong Wahabi kind of ruler. He was against Shia and was responsible for the killing of many thousand and thousands of Shias. As Ismailis were Shias, he was asking Ismailis to convert to his version of Islam and bear consequences. Not just the main stream Shias and Ismailis were killed, the head of Bohra Ismaili community was killed by Aurangzeb as well.

Ismailis of that time could not digest the Islam of Aurangzeb. It did not show any single trait of what their Sufi saints taught them about Muhammad. Aurangzeb's version of Islam was very violent, anti-shia, anti-sufi, fundamentalist, forceful, narrow-minded religion.  Either you believe in his ultraconservative form of Islam or else you are kafir.

Many Ismailis decided not be part of Aurangzeb's Islam. And they started siding more and more towards hindu kings who started protecting them from being killed by Aurangzeb. They could not find any peace, integrity, honesty, and submission to Allah in Aurangzeb's version of Islam. Unfortunately, this resulted in them started slowly going away even from main stream Islam. They were again adopting Hindu rituals.  As main stream Islam was controlled by Aurangzeb.

The current Aga Khan's grand father replaced their Indian language dua with Arabic dua consisting mostly the parts of Quran and prayers. Initially, there was resistance. Ismailis don't want to stop saying Indian language dua and they resisted the change. Because they remembered all the bad happened with their forefathers by ultra-fundamentalists. But slowly everyone adopted it.

Namaz and Dua are two different things. Namaz belongs to the category of Sharia and Ismaili Dua belongs to dua of ismaili Tariqa.

Ismaili Dua is recited 3 times a day. There are 6 rakats in the dua totally 18 rakats.

So to summarize, Namaz was never replaced. Indian language Dua which consist of some hindu prayers were replaced by Ismaili Dua consist of Quran ayahs and prayers.

I am a born ismaili and I am very confused about ismailism. I have attended the jamatkhana regulary throughout my life but as I am learning more about Islam, I do not attend Jamatkhana as much. I am starting to question Ismailism more and more. There is soo much questions in my head but I cannot get any answer out of this sect. Right now im in the air and running around reading about Sunni, Shia, and Ismailism in search for the truth.

I can confirm that the above statements are not far off. I m not very educated in ismailism and the ginans are in Gujrati (or something) which I dont understand; therefore, I cannot confirm that it is saying Ali is God. Although, by the acts like holding your hands how a Hindu does during Poja, I wouldnt be shocked if they were praying to Imam. I am familiar with "Aliyullah" because it is said many times in duas but i never knew its truth meaning until now.
Ask me any questions, i promise to you that I will answer them with truth and with what I, personally, know. I cannot confirm everything because it is hard to get answers in jamatkhana if you have questions. Nobody asks questions in jamatkhana so how can we learn. I ve been learning from doing my own researches and the more i learn, the more i get scared about ismailism.

I am very confused and scared. Please brothers/sisters, pray for me to be guided on to the straight path.

As salam alaykum and maybe Ya ali madad? Any way I am an ismaili too, I am having same thoughts as you. Asked ismaili gnosis Scholars and was not convinced by their answers as to my question of Is Hazar Imam God? if not then why are we worshiping him rather then Allah?.. I like the first Salam much better then saying Ya ali madad...Hope we find the true deen.. I believe in One God.. Hazar Imam is an Imam of the time who guides us through in this world. that's all. He seems to have some problems of him self and family which he has to take care...I pray for lost Ismaili brothers and sisters. You can try Ismaili Gnosis on Facebook for your questions.

Yes but what does it mean by modesty?

Physically or within?

As in the piousness of the mind and heart equals good soul

It's respect for the place of Worship to God. not wearing sexy dresses simple, you can do whatever you want to outside the house of God.
