Salam ,

Salam,

I heard that the first caliph Abu Bakr after he became caliph, he wrote a letter to his father to tell him that people were chosen abou bakr for the khalifa of the Muslims and asked him to come to do allegiance to him, and his father sends him a very interesting answer in this genre, it does not accept it as a khalifa and he doesn't made allegiance! Is what you have already heard something about that? I wanted to know if someone has the source (name + page book) of this letter! you would kind of give me also . thank you in advance for your help.

(salam)

I don't remember the name of book but I sort of remember the exchange that went between the two. You would expect Abu Bakr's father to congratulate his son considering the job of the caliph is one of the most coveted in the Arab community - but no such thing.

Abu Bakr's father was condescending and insulting. The impression I got was that if his son is elected as the caliph then even a village idiot can do the job. His father then asked him to hand over the caliphate.

I'll let someone else post the exact verbal exchange. Someone please do the honor.
