Does anyone know (of) S.H.M. Jafri?

He is the author of "Origin and Development of Early Shia Islam"

In a footnote in that book he mentions he was working on a translation of the Nahj-ul-Balagha, which would include references to all the lectures, lettters, and sayings from OLDER sources (PRE al-Radi)...

I wonder if he ever finished it, or is still working on it...(or is still alive)....

thoughts?

I met him in 2007. He was teaching at AKU (Karachi) in the faculty of social sciences at that time. Haven't talked to him since. No contact information on hand. The AKU website might have it.

(salam)

Thanks. tried looking for him on AKU's website, but found no mention...

However, I also found out that Reza Shah-Kazemi is also working on a translation of Nahj-ul-Balagha...which is good...which is also the first priority (a good tranlsation)

I dont know if he will do a more through analysis of older sources for the sermons, letters, etc...

Jazakallah Khair...
