(salam)

Some time back I read somewhere on the internet (have forgotten where) that in the Holy Quran the word Imam is given 12 times: corresponding to the twelve Imams; the word day is mentioned 365 times...and so on.

Can please inform me whether this is really the case? because the site where I read this on had no sources mentioned and I can't exactly call that site reliable.

Thanks

Firstly, Lets clarify that One of the greatest drawback of muslims is that they lack the unity, and are struggling because of raising of claims on each other about the selections of imams. Instead of keeping out the hidden knowledge of Islam they are wasting there resources, in a fighting that results to no thing. If they follow Quran, and those who have the true knowledge of Quran, they will never been held in any conflict. After the physical death of our last prophet (pbuh) the Muslims held in conflict and they have started chosen different imams for their guidance. No one has the same number of Imams. There are different numbers of imams in every which varies to more then 48. But in Quran the word Imam has been used only 12 times. Which is the exact number told by our last Prophet (pbuh).

References to verses where the word Imam has been used in Quran are: 2:124, 9:12, 11:17, 15:79, 17:71, 21:72-73, 25:74, 28:5, 28:41, 32:24, 36:12, 46:12.

PLEASE READ THE VERSES IN ARABIC AND DO NOT ONLY READ THE TRANSLATIONS!

Notice that the word 'Aimmah" has also been used which refers to a group of individual imams (or leaders)

Why would the word 'day' be mentioned 365 times when the Islamic Calendar only has 360?

Look - here - ignore the last result because its not "Imam" = 7 results

Then - here - for the plural "a'immah" = 5 results

ws

That's nice,

I'm still trying to figure out why is the 5 in plurial, and the other 7 in singular.

you know ,5 is a blessed number,5 anbia or 5 ahlulkisaa,

and number 7 is the lucky number :)

Common guys its just a coincidence, it really proves nothing

If thats not enough then you also might want to know other facts around this particular topic:

The word 'Successor' also appears 12 times

The 'The Best Chosen By Allah' (Al-Mostafawn) appears 12 times

'Most pious' (Al-Abraar) appears 12 times

AND the word 'Shia' too appears 12 times.

You find ‘Firqa’ which means a division appears 72 times in the Quran which is the number of divisions in Muslim Ummah that are away from the right path of Islam as the total sects according to the Hadees is 73!

O guys you have brought me into light I have never thought ever to make mockery of Allah (SWT) WORDS like this. I think that was the reason why HE (SWT) has revealed this GREAT BOOK that we can search for specific words for proving our ill beliefs.

you guys are beyond any logic.

The following infomration is also seems useful in this concern:

1-
HADITH ON WILAYAT OF 12 IMAMS FROM AHAL AL BAYAT A.S.:

Ahmed b Muhammad b Ubaidillah Al-Hafiz narrated from Ali b Sinan Al-Mousili from Ahmad b Muhammad Al-Khalili Al-Amoli, from Muhammad b Saleh, from Sulaymaan b Ahmad, from Ziyad b Muslim, from Abdul Rahman b Yazid b Jabir, from Salaam from Abi Salama, who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (saww) say:

On the night of Meraaj, Allah asked me, “Did the messenger believe in what was revealed to him from his Lord?”

I said “Yes”, And the believers believed in Allah, His angels, His books and His messengers.”

Allah said “You are right”.

Then Allah asked, “ Who did you choose as a successor?”

I said, “The best of my nation”.Allah asked “ Do you mean Ali bin Abi Talib”?I replied, “ Yes, O Allah”.

Then Allah said:

O Muhammad! I looked at all of My creation and I chose you from among all of them. Then I derived a name for you from My name. Therefore, it is not permitted that anyone mention Me without you with Me. My name is Mahmoud and your name is Muhammad. Then I looked again (at all of My creation) and I chose Ali, and I derived a name for him from My name. So My name is Ali, the extremely high, and his name is Ali. O Muhammad I created you, Ali, Fatima, Hassan, Hussain and the rest of Imams from Hussain’s sons from My own light. Then I asked all of my creations in the skies and the earths to accept your Wilayat. I consider those who accept it as believers, and I consider those who refuse it as Kafirs.

O Muhammad! If a slave from among My slaves worships me until he is torn and nothing is left from him, but he refuses to accept your Wilayat, Ali’s Wilayat, and the Wilayat of the Imams from his sons, I will not accept him or forgive him until he accepts your Wilayat, Ali’s Wilayat and the Wilayat of the Imams from his sons.

Then Allah asked me, “O Muhammad, would you like to see them?”

I replied. “Yes, O Allah”.

Allah said, “Look to the right of the Throne.”

Then I looked and I saw Ali, Fatima, Hassan, Hussain, Ali bin Hussain’ Mohammad bin Ali, Jaafar bin Muhammad, Musa bin Jaafar, Ali bin Musa, Muhammad bin Ali, Ali bin Muhammad, Hassan bin Ali, and the Mahdi. They were surrounded by light and they were standing and praying to Allah. Mahdi was in the center and he was shining like a brilliant star.

Then Allah said:

O Muhammad, they are My decisive proofs, and Mahdi will take revenge on

My behalf. I swear by My Magnificence, he supports My friends and takes

Revenge on My enemies. Following them and accepting their Wilayat is

WAJIB (obligatory) on everyone. With My permission they prevent the skies from

Falling on the earth.

(Bihar ul Anwar, V27 p199 h27).

2- PROOF OF HADITH FROM QURAN:

The Quran is the criterion of testifying the Hadith. The Hadith which is verified by Quran is authentic and following this is obligatory.

Following the Ahl Albayat A.S including 12 Imams is confirm from Quran and their Wilayat (Mastership) is also verified. The complete detail can be found on the article linked below:

http://www.scribd.co...cept-of-Tauheed

An extract from this Article is also given below:

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

Sura Al-Qamar, verse 17.

And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

a) It has been confirmed by Allah that obeying and following the holy prophet saw leads to TRUE path of Tauheed. It is numerically in the form of 47 alphabets of Sura Alakhlas and Sura Muhammad has been placed in confirmation at serial number 47 in the Quran.

It has also been verified that obeying and following 13 Ahl Albayt A.S from the progeny of Muhammad saw leads to Sunnah and True concept of Tauheed. This fact has been numerically kept in the form of verse of purification (Ayat Tatheer, Quran 33:33, last part) which has been structured by exactly 47 alphabets.

c) Further confirmation leaves no doubt that the path of 13 Ahl Albayat As. is the absolute objective of Quran leading to TRUE Tauheed as explained by the Quran. This confirmation comes in the form that the names of 13 Ahl Allbayat A.S are structured by Allah swt in such a way that it sums up to 47 alphabets.

d) This confirmation has been further testified in the verse of Wilaya placed at Sr no. 55 in Sura Al-Maiyda. The sum of the alphabets in these 15 Wali including Allah, the messenger and 13 Ahl Albayat is exactly equal to 55. Just after the verse no 56 clerly identifies that the believers (Momineen) should turn to Allah, the Messenger and 13 Ahl Albayat A.S. This evidence comes in the form that this verse has 14 alphabets with points and the sum of alphabets in this verse is exactly 47.

e) It is also concluded from the verse of Sura AlNissa at sr no 59, that obeying Allah, the Messenger and the 13 Ahl Albayat is an order for all believers. This is reconfirmed that 14 Infallibles are meant by this verse as it contain 14 dots/points. Also. The sum of the number representing the 15 personalities including Allah, the Messenger and 13 Ahl Albayat A.S give a total sum of 59 which is the serial number of this verse.

f) This leaves no room for believers except to believe and follow the path of 14 infallibles which is ONLY path leading to the TRUE concept of Tauheed.

g) It is stated in the Quran that:

h) كِتٰبٌ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ اِلَيْكَ مُبٰرَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوْٓا اٰيٰتِهٖ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ اُولُواالْاَلْبَابِ

i) Sura Sad, verse 29.

“This is the Blessed Book that We have revealed to you, (O Muhammad), that people with understanding may reflect over its verses and those with understanding derive a lesson”.

wow thats beautiful if all this things are mentioned for 12 times,it will be a big hujjat against other sects.

5 fingers in hands and feet, and 14 joints in these fingers, are also amazing proof.

Are you seriously trying to mockingly compare that to the Qur'an?

Imam is an Arabic word. Its has been mentioned 7 times and its plural form 5 times. Sometimes in bad contexts and sometimes good contexts.

28:41 And We made them imams who call towards the Fire.

15:79 So we took vengeance on them; And verily, the two (cities) are on a clear road (imam)

25:74 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders(Imams) for the Muttaqûn"

You can yourself see some of these verses and really think if they are about the 12 imams.

You know why Allah talks about "imams" into hell fire? Because there will be groups of people who call others that are not divinely appointed as there "imams", and there place is in hell. Anyone can say, since the quran says follow an imam, i will follow him. But is he the chosen imam? Or the one that will be swallowed by fire?

I'm wondering why Allah would cite the term "Imam" five times in the plural form seeing that the Zaydiyyah are the external, literal, obvious or "singular" interpreters of the Shi'i tradition...on the other hand, the Isma'ilis are the layered, inner, metaphorical, hidden or "multiple" conveyors of the Shi'i tradition...yet "Imam" in the singular is mentioned seven times...hmm (scratches head), you'd think this would be reversed (i.e. "Imam" mentioned in the singular 5 times and "Imam" mentioned in the plural 7 times)…both (i.e. singular and plural renditions of the term) combined to form twelve makes perfect sense to me because Twelverism offers a perfect and harmonized blend of the direct, the indirect, the symbolic, the literal, the figurative, the obvious etc.

The bold part of the post is agreed, and it makes logical conclusion for the word Imam repeated exactly 12 times in the quran.
