(salam)

From tax money to Israel, do you also mean trade with them? Because I doubt there's a Western country that is not involved one way or another with Israel.

Thinking of moving? How about a Muslim country?

Wa'salam.

No I am not thinking about trade I don't think a western country can avoid doing that, I don't want to live in a country where the workers end up having their tax dollars go towards Israel. A Muslim country...the only Muslim countries that I may consider living in would be Indonesia or Malaysia. Saudi Arabia, I might as well move to Israel, Jordan might as well move to Israel, Egypt same thing. Anyway I am thinking more along the lines of an EU country if there is such an EU country that is sympathetic towards Muslims. For example in Sweden health care is covered by tax payers, as well as education however I don't want to learn Swedish to try and make a living there. Any suggestions? I guess I could try Canada if I can't find any EU countries that fit what I'm looking for.

Actually what Muslim countries would you suggest? I'm reading up on Qatar and Yemen.......

What Muslim country would I suggest? Some that will give you permanent residence/citizenship? I created a topic about this in General Discussion. Apparently no Muslim country gives citizenship.

Sweden and Canada would be my choices. Indonesia, I don't know. Malaysia, I read Shia faith is not allowed there? and as far as I remember, my relative's visa application was rejected for no obvious reason... He was being sponsored by a very well known Company there but their embassy refused the visa.

Never mind about Canada I guess

Anyone here from Ireland or have info on Ireland?

Why not Sweden? Learning their language is the thing. I think it will be easy once you live there - adopting their language that is.

You can't just emigrate to benefit from the country, but not make any effort to fit in or contribute.

It's not ethical.

I moved to Sweden for a little while, if I spoke the language I would still be there, the other problem is how hard it is to find a place to stay. I have never heard of a waiting list for apartments this is crazy. But I am reconsidering, my children will not be born in America if I have children inshallah. I wasn't that patient when I moved there either but not being able to find a place to stay made it very hard, I don't know and that language sounds like people are throwing up while they talk.

Malaysia outlawed Shia Islam...well that's out of the question...subhanallah can you post the link to your general discussion thread that you started please?

Hence why I wouldn't want to move there brother I thought that sentence you highlighted was clear. If I spoke the language or could work there and get by with English then I would be there, but I don't think that is possible from what I understand.

You are in the US, right? You should join some language learning course there for Sweden. It should be easy to find in the US.

Perhaps in most Arab countries, I have heard that they allow citizenship for women who marry with someone from the Arab country but same is not the case if a guy there marries an Arab lady (which again I was told does not usually happen - Arab lady marrying with an outsider).

In Dubai they have this rule that if you buy property there, you will be given Residence visa. If they have not changed it yet...

Someone also told about Saudi Arabia that the Government asked for papers from those outsiders living there for more than 30 years regarding citizenship. They gave the papers but then nothing happened. I really don't understand why Muslim countries are so blah about possible immigrants.

Same goes for Iran - they give citizenship on basis of father's relation i.e. if the father is Iranian the child will get it but if the mother is Iranian then not...

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

What are you looking for, a state with a socialist system where you can fit in and be a drag on their health care system?

Sheesh

I have to agree with the post above. I live in Australia, Sydney to be exact, and there is a very large Muslim population here. The Shia's are also very comfortable, with their own mosques and centres all over the place.

The health and education system here is incredible. There is so much emphasis on it. I know of people who come to this country just to be treated under our health care system because their countries are only concerned about what they'll be paid, rather than caring about the individual.

If you research Australia you'll come to realise that it's all about cultural diversity and that multiculturalism is predominant here. It's taught in all schools and there are so many policies enforced by the government that protect the rights of people against any sort of discrimination.
