So today is the day of the Nintendo Switch 2 direct. I am looking forward to the Switch 2 information and first party line-up for the system. Insha-allah, I will get it.

GTA online might be old but been playing it for over a month now.

Joining the session and messing with online players, interrupting them while they are on missions, killing them, annoying them :hahaha: soo much fun

Reminds me of 2018-19 era when i played COD4x like crazy. I was famous as hacker & most annoying person in Pakistan cod4x communities :hahaha:, somehow figured out tricks to evade bans, wallhacks aimbots LOL

So the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was amazing. I am excited more than ever to get it and get Ring Fit Adventure 2 when that comes out. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond looks awesome on Switch 2 and is getting enhanced alongside Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The new Mario Kart looks exciting too as well.

I am excited for the Switch 2, but the price of Mario Kart World is ridiculous - so ridiculous, in fact, that during their Treehouse stream, 90% of the comments consisted of the words. "Drop the price." And the pre-orders of the Switch 2 in the US have been delayed due to the tariffs imposed by Trump.

Yeah, I know. Also in Canada the Switch 2 is like $630 CAD without Mario Kart and $700 with Mario Kart, making it their most expensive console launch ever. I am going to get the system when it becomes more affordable in Canada or when I have enough money.

So I finally got Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Switch. It's a great game so far and it looks to be a great Metroidvania. I love it. I am still not going to get the Switch 2 right away. I will get it later when stuff like Ring Fit Adventure 2 comes out or even a new Zelda. I also got MLB The Show 13 and even Heavy Rain for PS3 and hear that Heavy Rain is one of the best PS3 and PS4 games ever.

So I got a PS4 Slim for $160. I bought it mainly for my younger bro. I got five games for it. Rayman Legends, Lego Worlds, Uncharted 4, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix HD Collection, and Kingdom Hearts III. I have enjoyed Rayman Legends and its a solid 2D platformer. I cannot get a PS5 at the moment since it is too expensive and the prices will get worse because of the tariffs. Same in Canada and with the Switch 2.

I did buy Cyberpunk last year, it was good for bit but the character got into too many relationship. I loss interest.

I bought God of war Ragnarok, I don't know much about the story, I just had some games to trade so decided to go with God of War, to see what's all about.

So the Nintendo Switch 2 came out along with Mario Kart World and it has sold out pretty fast both preordered and non preordered. It's a good sign that Nintendo has something that is massive step forward from both the Wii U and the original Nintendo Switch despite the high price like the PS5. I don't think I will get one until Nintendo comes out with Ring Fit Adventure 2 and when there are cheaper models like a Switch 2 Go (basically a handheld only Switch 2 like the Switch Lite for the Switch 1) and a Switch 2 Home which is a home console only Switch 2 as well as more powerful Switch 2 Pro eventually to drop the price of the normal Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 1 OLED is what I will recommend for those on a budget and want to play Nintendo's games including Ring Fit Adventure except for the Switch 2 exclusives. I also have been enjoying a lot of games on my PS4 including Spider Man and Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy. Both are solid games.

So we had a Donkey Kong Bananza Direct for the Nintendo Switch 2.

I think the game looks sick and great and is even better than Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64. It's just as great as the 3D Mario games from Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Odyssey. I am looking forward towards getting a Switch 2 down the line alongside Mario Kart World when I am not broke to afford a Switch 2 in Canada and when the prices get reasonable.

So I have upgraded my PS4's 512 GB SSD to a 1 terabyte SSD. I also got Ratchet and Clank as well for PS4 brand new from Best Buy. It was the first PlayStation game and PS4 game I brought brand new after I bought mostly Nintendo games brand new on the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. I even got Monster Hunter World as well. So far I had a blast playing my PS4.

So, Donkey Kong Bananza came out for the Switch 2. It's one of the best exclusives worth owning a Switch 2 for. It's even better than Donkey Kong 64 for the N64.

I started playing Ghost of Tsushima again. That game is a masterpiece. Looks gorgeous too.

I have yet to get it. I have a PS4 to play it with. I am still too broke to own a PS5 and the newly released Nintendo Switch 2.

Are you planning to get a Nintendo Switch 2 eventually down the line? Because I will eventually to play Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

I might at some point, but it's not high on my priority list right now. I'm currently unemployed and struggling to get a new job, thus funds are limited. When and if I finally get a job most of my spare funds will be going towards travel. I've always wanted to travel, but never had the financial means to do so.

So the Nintendo Direct happened three days ago covering games for both Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2.

Some of the highlights are that we have the new Mario movie based on Super Mario Galaxy along with Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 being remastered. We also have a new Mario Tennis game called Mario Tennis Fever which is even better than Aces and it is for Switch 2 only. There is also a Switch 2 Edition for Super Mario Bros. Wonder featuring new content as well similar to Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Mario Party Jamboree. Finally, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is coming on December 4th, 2025 for both the Switch 1 and Switch 2.

The new Mario Movie and the Galaxy remasters.

Here is Mario Tennis Fever.

Lastly, here is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

I think Prime 4: Beyond looks amazing on Switch 2 and is shaping to be just as great as the first two Prime games on the GameCube and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Wii. The Galaxy remaster looks amazing alongside the new Mario Tennis game. I am still saving up for a Switch 2.

I struggled with God of war Ragnarok, I found it difficult to play so ended up trading for EA Sports FC 26.

I played video games in my youth, but have given them up to focus on work as well as Islamic and professional studies. Diversions and past times are not explicitly Haram. Nabi Muhammad, peace be upon him, enjoyed poetry as well as running races. Islam does not forbid leisure or joy and happiness.

Just make sure that the games you play do not contain Haram and that it does not distract from important life responsibilities such as work and study, worship most of all. Many find video games addicting as an escape from reality. Moderation is important. There are also intellectual games which improve your thinking like chess and go.

Saudi Arabia's PIF-led consortium buys Electronic Arts (EA) for $55 billion

Landmark gaming deal marks PIF’s biggest global tech play amid GCC digital ambitions

Jared Kushner, Saudi Arabia, more backers to buy EA in $55B deal. What this means for gamers.

President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Saudi Arabia's government and other backers are closing in on a $55 billion deal to purchase the video game company responsible for developing and publishing popular game franchises like The Sims, Madden NFL and Battlefield.

Quote

Electronic Arts, or EA, announced on Monday, Sept. 29 that it will be privately acquired by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake and Affinity Partners during the 2027 fiscal year. The latter of the investors, Affinity Partners, was founded by Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law, who is married to Trump's eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump.

So for my birthday, since my original Nintendo Switch launch model is having issues, I decided to get a Switch 2 with Mario Kart World. It was expensive sure but with me saving up enough, I decided to get it. I can now finally play my Nintendo Switch games and even play Switch 2 only games as well.

So today, I got Donkey Kong Bananza by trading in my physical copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at EB Games for it. I also got a second DualShock 4 controller for my PS4 at a good price at $39 Canadian Dollars which is a bargain for what new PS4 controllers go for. I gave it a full cleaning from the inside as well to avoid any misregistering inputs like I had with the PS3 DualShock 3 controller which I had to clean up and put back together. The PS4 controller is even easier than the PS3 DualShock 3 that I have to clean and put back together. I know later DualShock 3s have improvements to the insides to make it easy to maintain.

So a few days ago, Metroid Prime 4 Beyond launched for both the regular Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. It has generally lived up to the hype after all the delays from announcement all the way back in 2017 till now. I look forward to playing it and getting a copy for the Switch 2. I also hope for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza to win some awards at The Game Awards this year since the Switch 2 has been a success with me getting it on my Halloween 25th birthday this year. Last year was a disappointment.

Looks like I finally got myself a copy of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond which happens to be the regular Switch 1 copy by trading in 4 of my Switch 1 games that are worth a lot towards the game and got extra for gift cards to use on the eShop to get the upgrade pack to the Switch 2 version and a few other upgrade packs at EB Games/GameStop.

I am more for Prince of Persia though. I like The Sands of Time and hope for the remake to come out sooner or later. I have been enjoying Metroid Prime 4: Beyond which has been a game that was worth waiting for, especially on Switch 2.

Silent Hill F - received mix reviews online, I don't think its worth it

Looking forward to Resident Evil Requiem

Just curious, does anyone watch horror games full gameplay on youtube? I do :)  - Yes, I am a weirdo but I find some of them to be better than horror movies

Sad news but the Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake has been cancelled. I was so looking forward for it. Oh well, but there's Mario Tennis Fever on Switch 2 that I look forward to and even Final Fantasy VII Remake which I got when it launched last week on Switch 2.

we have a national chain called around one at the mall not that far for me. I go maybe for one of the aids once a year cause my son likes that place.

I never was a video game person growing up even though in the 90s it was starting to become normal it was still kind of snitch. My brother was a super video game nerd for lack of a better word. I played some saga, but never really got into super Nintendo, PlayStation Xbox, etc..

As I said though for one of the heats, I went around one with my son and I think I get like 10 bucks worth of tokens for me and my wife. I did manage to beat Tekken seven and two tokens so that was somewhat impressive.

My grandmother who never played a video game in her life and was over 80 at the time was convinced by my son to try some game called the ice man. Will you shoot a water cannon at the screen and got the high high score

I think mostly video games are fine in moderation just like TV or cinema as long as the content is not bad

Have you and your son been playing Nintendo Switch or even the latest and greatest Nintendo Switch 2? They're both literally two of the best consoles ever right up there with the PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and even PS3 as well as some of Nintendo's past like the SNES and even GameCube or Wii. I myself have enjoyed both the old Switch and the new one. I played Mario Kart World to the max and finished the Grand Prix and the Knockout Tour mode. I personally grew up with PlayStation 1, Game Boy Advance, PS2, GameCube, and even the Wii + Wii U since I am a young man in his mid 20s.
