I resubmit these facts here for consideration of the reader:

  • 1994: Anti-Shi'a military action in Gilgit led by Brigadier Pervez Musharraf.
  • 1996: Creation of Taliban. DGMO Major General Pervez Musharraf played an active part.
  • 1999-2007: Hundreds of Shi'as killed by terrorists while General Pervez Musharraf was COAS and CE/President of Pakistan. Very few, if any, of the perpetrators was ever arrested.
  • 2004: Firing by law enforcing agencies on Quetta 'Ashura procession. 50 mourners martyred.
  • 2004: Army firing on protesting schoolchildren in Gilgit killed dozens.
  • 2006: 3 Shi'as kidnapped by intelligence agencies for questioning by Americans and kept in incarceration unacknowledged.
  • 2007: Momineen of Parachinar attacked and beseiged by Taliban. The siege still continues. Rather than being rescued they were straffed by helicopter gunships of Pakistan Army then headed by General Pervez Musharraf.

Who was in power when the Taliban was created?

Who was the PM when the Taliban government was officially recognised?

Who was in power when SSP, with just a couple of seats was given a ministry in Punjab?

Under whose government did Pakistan almost come to the brink of war with Iran?

Under whose government was Azam Tariq killed in cold blood?

How many shia doctors were killed between 1988 - 1999?

Let's present the complete facts and not just one's which support our own idealogy / political affiliation!

The relevance of my observations about Pervez Musharraf's "support" for Shi'as is self-evident on a thread titled "Musharraf Supporters". And to that extent the facts stated by me are relevant and complete in themselves, besides the fact that none of my statements per se have been contested by the responder.

The relevance of the questions asked above as regards support or lack thereof to Musharraf is unclear.

For the record, especially for those here who may not be aware of it, let me state that I support neither Musharraf nor Benazir/PPP/Zardari nor Nawaz. To me any friend of Shi'as is worthy of praise, and any enemy of theirs worthy of being cursed. To that extent also asking the above questions of me would be irrelevant.

Also, as followers of Imam Ali (alaihissalam), we would know that justice not revenge should be our way. Bringing the likes of Azam Tariq and Riaz Basra to justice would have been the way aproved by our Imams (as). Killing them or Akbar Bugti in cold blood without first bringing them to justice is most certainly not the way recommended by them.

Let us also remember Amjad Farooqui, one time Musharraf pal and helper in recruiting Taliban from disgruntled elements of the erstwhile self-styled mujahideen and students in the madressahs in the border belt between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Amjad was killed in cold blood in a fake police encounter in Nawabshah.

_______

During the military action against Shias in Gilgit, Musharraf also "imported" Arab and Central Asian Al Qaedeh fighters from Afghanistan to shed Shia blood

Musharraf was as bad as Yahya Khan in breaking up Pakistan and not as effective as Ayyub Khan either. He talked about his achievement as building few monuments here and there in the country whereas Ayyub Khan created the whole city of Islamabad and what not. See the difference?

The whole darn world knows. Google and you will find them.

Ayub was primarily responsible for completely alienating the Bengalis and for institutionalizing corruption, especially corruption by military personnel.

But Yahya Khan was really responsible for Bangladesh splitting up. Either him or Zulfikar Ali Bhutto himself.
