Nadeem Sarwar What Do You Think?

The dramatisation and acting during nauhas is what I don't like. Nauhas should be like, when you see them or hear them you should have tears in your eyes.

Many like him but I would not compare a Zakir e ahlebayth with Michael Jackson.

EXACTLY! plus his nohay sound alarmingly like popular songs :Hijabi: on top of that when he came to manchester back in the late 90's i saw him giving out signed albums like a rock star, he just seemed so full of himself, mind you all the hindustanis and khojas were fawning over him and treatin him like hes elvis, most uncool!

Salaam

For quite a few years, I have been listening to comments made by people against Nadeem Sarwar. Well, How can people know the intentions that lie deep within the hearts of others?

Maybe Nadeem Sarwar's recitations are accepted by Bibi Zahra (S.A.) hereself! so, who are we to comment?!

I personally think that it is a good thing to appreciate that our children, who belong to the 21st century where Metal and Rock cultures have flourished their roots, are turning towards Azadari through these nawhas. I personally have seen young children craving and demanding MP3 players and Ipods just for the sake of listening to nawhas!

is nadeem sarwar the nauha reciter and writer makrooh.

I heard once he tried getting a band with guitars and stuff to say nauhas but was booted off and insulted.

"you heard once"???

Bro, I am sorry but it is highly irresponsible and inappropriate of you to say such a thing simply based on "what you may have heard" There are many people who like Nadeem Sarwar, and many who dont, but to defame someone in this manner is totally uncalled for.

Even when Naeem Abbas Roofi (who is a known singer) recites nohas, he does it without any music, so how can you even for a moment believe that Nadeem Sarwar (or any one else for that matter) will try doing such a thing, especially when we know he had many offers to become a singer but he refused to do so.

EXACTLY! plus his nohay sound alarmingly like popular songs :Hijabi: on top of that when he came to manchester back in the late 90's i saw him giving out signed albums like a rock star, he just seemed so full of himself, mind you all the hindustanis and khojas were fawning over him and treatin him like hes elvis, most uncool!

Well first of all bro, all the nohas do sound like songs, because they are all composed like songs.........You are right, Nadeem Sarwar etc sound like popular songs, but on the other hand Katri Bawa etc sound like semi-classical punjabi songs...(since u are a self-proclaimed Noha expert, I need not to tell you how they "compose" their nohas)

As for children looking up to Nadeem Sarwar as a rock star, well to me it is actually a great thing, because if they look up to Nadeem Sarwar, they will spend their spare time reciting Nohas, on the other hand if they start idolizing rock starts, they would do things which are generally associated with rock stars. (sex, drugs, alcohol and the list goes on)

Finally, you are wrong in saying that only Hindustanis and Khojas like Nadeem Sarwar, as he is as popular in Punjab and Frontier, as he is in Karachi and you can tell that by the crowd he pulls when he is in Lahore, Pindi, Gujranwala etc.........

i never claimed anything of the sort

i never claimed ANYONE was perfect, nor that those things are exclusive to rock stars

salaam yaa ali madad

bro mola da malang nadeem sarwar signs albums with typically like " mola kush rackay yaa ali kainay walah noon".

Nothing sinister but i would appreciate less of the back slinging happening between shia bro's. i thought only the arabs fought over latmiyya recitors. they are having same feeling about basim kerbali saying he a singer hes this hes that. all not needed if you like listen to him if not just find a nother recitor there is no big deal.

salaam and duas

i am okay with his earlier nohays like b4 i was born in like 1994, but being 12 i can still tell u, that well id rather have a reciter who doesnt play his nauhas with drums for matum sounds. hes kinda like sami yusuf who is also shia but hiding it due to the fact that sunnis might not buy his albums if they reveaal him. (-_-) and im sorry to the dude that crushed my thoughts because i said ive heard. cough cough. (T.T) any ways *sniff *sniff the point of this thread is to tell me if nadeem sarwers nohays/latimiyat (for arab bros) is makrooh or halal.

lol where did i actually promote his album?

you said that he is treated like a rock star and I replied to that.......

@shiasoldier, every studio album has drums, in fact in many cultures drums are played along with the ashura processions, so I dont see what the problem is

If this rumour turns out to be untrue but another forwards it after reading your post, you're going to continue to reap the sin so long as the rumour continues to travel.

To defame someone like this is badgumani on a commercial scale :)

Good luck in your grave.

im just saying my cousin had said to me, he talked to the maulana of the mosque to find out if its true, although i dont like that cousin because hes a total mean a$$, he might b telling the truth thats why i said once, not im definetely sure. Also with the way he recites you could suspect this. Anyways like a few years ago there was a post like this just reviving it. Anyways we never know ahlul bayt might just be accepting his nohays.

Guys, I understand that a lot of people pretty much share the same view in regards to his nohas (that they used to be better back in the days) but he is reciting Nohas for Imam Hussain (as) so let's not compare him with Michael Jackson please. (I have edited the topic title).

Here is a past thread on him: http://www.shiachat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=74326

I'm not here to slate the man (completely) I still have respect for the stuff he has done (past being the key word). When I was little I used to love that Zuljenah Noha and listen to it everyday....so thankyou for that Nadeem. Oh I know it's quite offtopic but when he was in U.K 3 years ago me and my mate saw him at someones house majlis and we were like "NADEEEEM BHAI!!! HUM LAUGON KE PAAS AAP KE SAAREH POSTERS HAI KAMREH MEH!!!!" (WE'VE GOT ALL YOUR POSTERS IN OUR ROOMS!!!) he looked quite baffled but anyways

We went to this majlis thinkin Nadeem is gonna shake the place and all my mates came.....we're waiting to just do some matam and my man just keeps breaking into stories with a little "AHhhHhHhHhh" in the middle. Like what on earth is that about!! MANS COME TO DO SOME MATAM BROVA...NOT LISTEN TO YOUR STORIES

"mera daust..........bhaut .........bemarrrr taa........AHhHHhHhHhHHhHhN Doctor neh baula Mr Nadeem I vant to talk to you...mehneh baula ..NAHI I DONT VANT TO TALK TO YOU ahHHhHhHhHn....hazrat...ghazi...abbas ke mohabbat meh...mera daust teek ho gyaaa....AHhhHhHhHhHhn"

BAFFLED!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST GET ON WITH IT MATE....THERES GUYS WHO'VE COME DOWN HERE TO BEAT THEIR CHESTS!!!!!!!

Poor nadeem sarwar, is he the only one who shakes his head up while reciting nawhas, what about other nawha khans, especially the group nawhas , what about Hassan sadiq doing ghazal with music? what about shabab, there is one nawha khan in it with a pony tail ? Its very easy to get on nadeem sarwar since hes worldwide famous :P

He gets angry when matamis arent doing right matam, there is lot of positive to be speaking off him..... I presonally don't recite his nawhas, but hes doing tableegh for young kids..

How come?

I liked his nohas from back in the 90's

Havent heard any recent ones though

Is he really that bad??

No hez not! Infact i think in the past couple of years, Nadeem Sarwar's nauhas and tunes have improved a great deal as compared to early years of the new millennium!

I TOTALLY agree with you!! :!!!: I cant really be counted as "young children" coz im 19 now  ..but i bought those things for the same reason!!

i am okay with his earlier nohays like b4 i was born in like 1994, but being 12 i can still tell u, that well id rather have a reciter who doesnt play his nauhas with drums for matum sounds. hes kinda like sami yusuf who is also shia but hiding it due to the fact that sunnis might not buy his albums if they reveaal him. My opinion:-

Its simple..If any nauha that you think is similar to some song tune and is insulting the nauha, then you should avoid listening to it. I've heard that he some times uses tunes of old sad songs but since i dont know a lot of songs, if i listen to those nauhas and get tears in my eyez, then its totally ok for me to listen to them!

Its not drum, its just echo! :) havent you ever been to some imambargah where lots of people are doing matam? The matam in the nauhas of nauhakhuwans these dayz sounds exactly the same..There is no difference! Its not Nadeem Sarwar alone who is using echo in matam, every one uses it coz its the sound of real matam

(salam)

Don't know him.

Come on people..Havent you guyz been listening to his nauhas since the past couple of years??I also lost interest in his nauhas during the years 2001-2005 :squeez: but i think from 2006 onwards, his nauhas have become a lot better! :)

I request everyone (specially those who've criticised soo intensely) to listen to these nauhas of Nadeem Sarwar of the past four years and tell me whats wrong with them:-

Thnx for agreeing with me!

Well, I absolutely find no problems in his nawhas. Infact, his voice (and his nawhas) is so mesmerising that it actually stimulates my imagination to draw the complete 'Kerbala' and tears start filling my eyes!!

His voice is indeed an invaluable gift from Bibi Zahra (a.s.)!
