Maryam e moqadas is subtitiled or dubbed in English. It is a beautiful movie; totally not Hollywood.

Definately nothing hollywoodesque about it. It was written/directed by Sheikh Muhammad Said Bahmanpour - one of the humblest and most sincere people I have known.

Terminator 2 (watched it 16 years ago, love it till this day).

Gladiator

Braveheart

Malcolm X

Schindler's List

Ben Hur

Godfather

American History X

Lion of the Desert (Mustapha Akkad film, same guy who did The Message, murdered by Zarqawi a couple years ago).

Leon

Romeo+Juliet

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels

How did you meet him?

He was visiting professor at the Uni I used to go to. Gave us private Tafsir classes every week (which were amazing), and we used to do Dua Kumayl with him on Thursdays. He had dinner once in my college room, with some of the other Shia boys. We were very lucky.

He really is a jewel of a person, used to start crying when reading Dua Kumayl only a few lines into it. Once we even had to take over because he couldn't continue. He was very humble too, despite being a Sheikh with a considerable amount of knowledge, he amusingly used to offer us the position of Imam when we did Salah together - which we would sniggered about. We used to joke that he was actually 5000 years old, and that he was the guy who brought Balqis' thrown to Soloman, but was too humble to admit it.
