So defending tawheed now equates to being an enemy of Ahlul Bayt?

This is the same argument Christians make when Muslims deny trinity.

I know right! This was my response (paraphrasing cause his post was deleted): "alright. I don't understand how that's even comparable. One is asking Jesus (عليه السلام) to pray to God for you, the other is praying to Jesus (as if he is God) asking for help from Jesus."

I mean what are these excuses that they come up with??? What Christian asks Jesus to pray to God for them?

It is debatable.

It is mentioned in The Prayers Almanac (Mafatee Al-Jinan) by Qummi so my personal opinion is it is okay to recite.

Keep in mind, using Hz Fatima as a waseelah is not an issue. As long as prostration is being without thinking of her as God, what's the problem?

If someone uses this prayer thinking she is a deity, then it would be haram of course.

You say it is debatable.

When you look at opinions of scholars regarding smaller issues such as eating at non-halal restaurants--often the answer is " avoid as per obligatory precaution" due to cross-contamination. How can the same principle not be applied here? Avoid it because it is on the fence of shirk. How likely is it that one goes into sujood pleading "Ya Fatima" 100x and is thinking about Allah Do you atleast agree that sujood is only for Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) or is that a internet marjah thing too?

Yes.

The debatable part is whether this prayer is authentic or not.

Can we not apply common knowledge and come to conclusion that is not authentic? Lets even take the tawassul dynamic out of it. Just the fact that you are going into sujood and pleading to an entity other than Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) is enough reason for a rational person to dismiss this narration.

We can reach this conclusion without even having to resort for further proofs such as its Safavid origin and Gaali chain. I feel as if you are not counting it out simply due to the bias of the personality attached to it. You would label this unauthentic had it been "Go into sujood and plead Ya Maryam x100", but since it is "Ya Fatima", you cannot find it in you to dismiss it.

I say this sincere intentions. By no means am I trying to get into a personal bout with you.

Lets see this matter too, lets again get back to 3:169

What 3:170 says is more interesting for you

Salam brother

So we're going off topic a bit talking about barzkh and afterlife but watch for my new topic that addresses 3:169 AND 3:170 - the latter being the strongest case of life after death per the Qur'an.

But is that what it's really saying? Watch for my new topic.

Rationality is no longer allowed. We have to do Taqleed or be cast out as a rebel.

Out of it's siyaq but reminiscent of this

Surah Al-Maeda, Verse 104:

And when it is said to them, Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Apostle, they say: That on which we found our fathers is sufficient for us. What! even though their fathers knew nothing and did not follow the right way.

Sadly, those you accept this borderline shirk narration, believe Sujood with "Ya Fatima" x100 is what Allah Their delusion leads them to throw this verse back at us.

I do not see anything wrong with this version--though it appears to be a modified version. The original post had the "Ya Fatima" x100 in sujood portion to it. That was my issue with this. It was sad to see people defend this act as tawassul. This is certainly not tawassul. I am really not sure what to call it besides shirk.

Tawassul would be to get into sujood and plead "Ya Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) grant me xyz for the sake of Fatima (sa)". Now to get into sujood and pleading "Ya Fatima (sa) grant me xyz"--this is appalling.

@786:)  Why is it appalling brother?

ABNA: How do Allah and holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) introduce hazrat Fatima az-Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her)?

Ayatollah Alavi Gorgany: When we look at how Allah and holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) have introduced hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) we find out that they have considered hazrat Fatima az-Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) as the central point of creation. Allah has depicted the whole world as a circle whose center is hazrat Fatima az-Zahra.

For instance, in a tradition called "kisa' [a single piece overall garment]", Gabriel asks: "O! Allah, who are under the kisa? In His response, Allah does not say they are holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) and his children rather He says: "they are Fatima, her father, her husband and her children". That means the center of the circle. Allah has hazrat Fatima az-Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) as the key to know her father, husband and children. Then it is obvious that this lady is the real center of prophecy and welayah . In other words it is as if hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) connects prophecy towelayah.

Holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) calls her "her father's mother". Some does not understand the meaning of this statement. It means that hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) is the central truth and reality. Thus "Fatima and her father" means that if hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) did not exist, holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) had not had mother/central point; like a book without binding.

Another element that helps us know hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) is holy Prophet's (Allah's peace be upon him) strange affection for her. The norm is to kiss Imam or leader's hands; the follower kisses Imam's hands. In some cases however holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) would kiss his daughter's hands. Traditions say whenever holy Messenger (Allah's peace be upon him) entered her house, she would stand up and kiss her father's hands. Whenever Fatima (Allah's peace be upon her) entered holy Prophet's (Allah's peace be upon him) house he would place her in his own place and kiss her hands. What should we do with these traditions? Would holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) with his high rank kiss this lady's hands if she was not at a high level?

Her other unique virtue is the story of her birth. During first Fatemiya [mourning days for hazrat Fatima's martyrdom], I delivered a sermon and I mentioned this issue. To interpret the meaning of kawthar [6], interpreters have tried to find the meaning of the term kawthar and have assumed it as meaning "large amount of goodness". Then they have tried to explain how hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) has been "large amount of goodness" and have mentioned some aspects. I think these interpretations are valuable however kawthar may have another meaning and that is hazrat Zahra's (Allah's peace be upon her) birth. Holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) has sit with some people in "Abtah" when Gabriel suddenly descended and said: "O! Holy Prophet, do not go to hazrat Khadija's [his wife] house from tonight on and worship Allah for forty days. He did not visit hazrat Khadija and stayed at "Umm Hani's"house. At fortieth night, a meal was brought for him from heaven including dates, grapes and kawthar[a pond in heaven] water. Holy messenger (Allah's peace be upon him) had this meal and then visited hazrat Khadija and hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) was conceived from that souvenir from heaven. It is likely that hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) is called kawthar because she is created from kawthar water; Allah says we bestowed you kawthar it means we have created hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) from kawthar water. I have explored references but I have not found such a thing even about holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) being created from kawthar water; nor about Amir al-Mo'menin Ali (Allah's peace be upon him); and not about Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein (Allah's peace be upon them). It is only about hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her). There is a tradition in Sunni collections where "Aisha" is quoted as saying: "Holy Prophet (Allah's peace be upon him) would kiss his daughter Fatima (Allah's peace be upon her) a lot. I questioned this and said: it is not prudent to kiss a married girl! He answered: do not say this, I smell the scent of heaven from her".

Hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her) has a high status in infallible Shiite Imam's (Allah's peace be upon them all) statements. For example Imam Hassan Askari (Allah's peace be upon him) says:"We are Allah's proof for people [and His creation] and hazrat Fatima (Allah's peace be upon her) is Allah's proof for us." [7] Therefore she is a role model and proof for elites.

These traditions are only a small number of them that represents highest status for hazrat Zahra (Allah's peace be upon her)  https://www.duas.org/Fatima_interview.htm

And to add to 786s point ,

Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) uses language that to us seems politically incorrect but it is the truth:

Surah Al-Maeda, Verse 17:

Indeed, the truth deny they who say, "Behold, God is the Christ, son of Mary." Say: "And who could have prevailed with God in any way had it been His will to destroy the Christ, son of Mary, and his mother, and everyone who is on Earth-all of them? For, God's is the dominion over the heavens and the Earth and all that is between them; He creates what He wills: and God has the power to will anything!"

Alaikas Salam Brother!

I am specifically talking with reference to OP. You can discuss the intercession on different thread. Surah Yunus, Verse 18:

And they serve beside Allah what can neither harm them nor profit them, and they say: These are our intercessors with Allah.

Ahlul Bayt (asws) are the ones whom obedience has been made obligatory on us by Allah. They are not like Abu Bakr & co. They are not the example of مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ, lets see who they are:

Surah Al-Fath, Verse 10:

Surely those who swear allegiance to you do but swear allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands.

Salam all of Ahlul Bayt (ams) Names is driven from names of Allah in Qur'an so calling with names is like as calling names of Allah if you say saying their names is shirk so saying 99 names of Allah or putting these names on us  that is popular between Shia & Sunnis will be shirk too at the end it's not an obligatory (wajib) prayer so it's only suitable people that seek higher understanding of faith but if you afraid of doing shirk you don't have to practice it.

they will intercede for you to Almighty Allah to grant you His aid at that very moment, if He wills.

PRAYER FOR SEEKING Allah'S HELP IN THE NAME OF LADY FATIMAH (S)

If you have an urgent request to be granted by Almighty Allah due to which your heart is distressed, you may offer a two-unit prayer. Upon accomplishment, you may repeat the Takbir statement (I.e. Allahu-Akbar) three times and then utter the Tasbih al-Zahra’. Then you may prostrate yourself and repeat the following supplicatory statement one hundred times:

يا مَوْلاتى يا فاطِمَةُ اَغيثينى

You may then put your right cheek on the ground and repeat the same one hundred times, put your left cheek on the ground and repeat the same one hundred times, and return the normal position of prostration and repeat the same one hundred and ten times. You may then submit your requests, and Almighty Allah, if He wills, will grant it.

A PRAYER FOR SEEKING God’S AID IN THE NAME OF LADY FATIMAH

According to Makarim al-Akhlaq

Shaykh Hasan ibn Fadl al-Yabrisi has said in Makarim al-Akhlaq:

A prayer for seeking Aid from Lady Fatimah ((عليه السلام).): You may offer a two-unit prayer. Upon accomplishment, you may prostrate yourself and repeat the following phrase one hundred times:

يا فاطمة

You may then put your right cheek on the ground and repeat the same one hundred times, put your left cheek on the ground and repeat the same one hundred times, and return the normal position of prostration and repeat the same one hundred and ten times. You may then say the following supplicatory prayer:

PRAYER FOR SEEKING Allah'S HELP IN THE NAME OF THE Prophet (S) AND Imam Ali (A)

The following is also quoted from this respectable book:

Imam al-Sadiq((عليه السلام).) is reported to have said: Whoever of you intends to seek the aid of Almighty Allah (in the name of His Intimate Saints), may offer a two unit prayer and then prostrate himself and say the following:

You may then mention the names of the Holy Imams ((عليه السلام).). Following this, you may add the following:

بكم اتوسّل‏ الى اللّه تعالى

Once you do so, they will intercede for you to Almighty Allah to grant you His aid at that very moment, if He wills.

Find me any sahih narration in which any Prophet or Imam prostated and pleaded for other than Allah

Sujood is only for Allah This is the issue here. We are being told to go into prostration and beg for other than Allah If you do not see this as flirting with shirk then you do not see anything as shirk. Tawassul is a whole entirely different topic.

I can’t believe I have to explain myself for such ridiculous matters.

So now I'm a mushrik, why thank you brother!

How easy it is to resort to labeling and not answer the question.

God bless you brother 786.

I never called you a mushrik. I am not in position to judge anyone--that is for Allah However, I can judge actions. If you want to do sujood to other than Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) then my all means feel free to do so. I think that act is shirk--the gravest of sins. Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) knows best.

Hmmm, and what about the zikr in the state of prostration. Please answer this.

It also seems to me that Remormist forgot this:

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلاَئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لآدَمَ

:) he also forgot another sajdah mentioned in Qur'an.
