To the sisters who know about these stuff, please help out if you can...

From your own experiences (or if you know someone else who has), does threading stimulate more hairgrowth in the face?

Threading does not stimulate more hair growth. In fact as you pull out the hair from the roots after some time any growth is weak and some hair do not re-grow. Good luck with your threading!

How come people say waxing stimulates hairgrowth then? Is it not basically the same thing (pulling out by the roots)?

Ive been threading for a while now and it has not stimulated my growth in fact it has reduced it, as a result i have to thread less often, same with waxing

The epilator although in prinicple does the same thing, i knwo people who have used it and as a result have seen there hair become coarse and it has made there pores more visible...........not sure why though

I used to wax, then people were saying threading is better..so i tried threading--and i hated it. I felt like hair was growing back darker. So, i'm sort of back to waxing lol

yea...epilator, im' not a fan of. I think waxing is the best way to go!

Has anyone here ever considered electrolysis/laser instead? Do you know anyone who has done this to the face? The thing is that while some say threading or waxing doesn't stimulate more hairgrowth others claim it does over time :squeez:

Any ideas?

I use both threading and waxing...threading mostly for shaping my eyebrows and stuff...it doesn't hurt much once you get used to it and you can work accurately. I also haven't noticed my hair growth increasing or anything due to it..it's just been consistent!! ( i do it every fortnight- sometimes more often).. :Hijabi:

Waxing is the quickest method as well..and also hurts less once you get used to it so alls good!!..epilating kills man!!!..but I always thought epilating gets rid of the hair from its roots..until I read on SC that it doesn't- as well as on the packaging of my epilator  ..im not really sure about that because i noticed hair grows back at the same pace after epilating as it does with waxing!!..hmm :donno:

From my own personal experience, for the face threading seems to be the best choice. One, it has the same result as waxing does, however the difference is its not sticky, doesnt hurt as much and doesn't stress the skin cells (as wax does over time)

As for the epilator, they used to claim on the boxes that it removed the hair from the roots however this has been proven not to be true. From my experience with the epilator, when used the hair grows back just a few days later than shaving does, and many many days earlier than waxing. It also grows more thickly.

So for face thread, and for body wax!

Waxing pulls out the hair but it can come out thicker. However normally waxing isnt done on the face. By pulling out the roots this damages the numbers of hairs and the strenghh of the roots on facial hair. hmm

I would suggest you might wanna do the threading!

I know a few people that have had that done...They had to go through a few sessions and what not, but the results were great! It may hurt a little when u get it done and what not, but your hair either doesnt grow back(depending on the thickness of the hair, and the number of sessions you have gone to) , or it grows back but much thinner!
