I am sorry to say that all of you people are too fussy about other people and don't look at what you yourselves are. You would post a page against other people BUT not bother to look at your own damn selves?

Whatever.

The above applies to you too.

When people find out you are afro-american, or muslim, or american, or of filipino heritage and then suddenly exclaim:

"Oh yeah, I know about you people. Some of my best friends are [black/muslim/american/filipino]!" or

"You're black? Right on! What up my homegirl? Westsiiiiiiiiide!" dry.gif

LOL

Westside haha

Someone once said "Misery likes company"

Those who represent that statement annoy me, for when they're miserable they let the world know instead of trying to apear unmiserable for others' sake.

"Keep a smile on your face while sorrow in your heart" was one of the quotes I'd heard associated with one of our Imams (as) . Too bad not everyone knows it and/or follows it.

Wasalam.

When they attack you and criticize for your opinion. "Ok, I believe this and you believe that. Like, what are you trying to do? I don't care. I don't want to argue."

Yeah, I really like it and find it a fulfilling experience to have a debate where people stick to attacking MY OPINION and criticizing IT, but when they move onto me myself, it really annoys me cuz it totally stunts any intellectual progression there was to be had.

It is always the ignorant, the unlettered and the unmannerly who attack the speaker and not what's being spoken

I thought it'd be good for us to share things we find annoying about other people, so that maybe if we get a considerable list, we can maybe try to avoid doing those things ourselves.

Please share!

its annoying when people dont perform their duties n fight for their rights......:)

The movement to popularise the term and replace the "Khoda" in Khoda Hafiz (which was the term in vogue amongst many of the Urdu and Persian speaking populace - Hafez amongst the Iranians, though there were/are other terms like "ba amn e Khoda", "Khoda negahdaar" etcetera) with "Allah" was led by the nasibi wahhabis, on the absurd pretext that since Khoda was not a word from the Qur'an, it could not be used for 'the God'. As if!

Their attempt was successful too to quite an extent among the non-Shi`i people, and to some among the Shi`ahs too.

Although there's nothing wrong with the term as such, it reminds me of the history behind it, hence gets me a little irritated.

When I asked you "why" I returned many times to this topic hoping to see a reply to my "why" I've just gone through it again, and was terribly shocked to see that you had already replied, I mean how could I have missed it, usually my eyes are so good, what went wrong that time?

Thanks for your very detailed reply

Allah Hafiz. (did that annoy you?)

i dont find much annoying with people, everyone is different and u should at times compromise and accept some of these annoyances, but some of them are plain annoying likeee...

Pakistani parents comming over for dinner and saying thier children are the best at everything

Random uncles and aunties arguing yelling at the top of thier lungs completely ignoring what the next person has to say

Random indian uncles comming over for dinner and disscussing nothing but politics, all of them presenting thier own wierd conspiracy theory on 9 11

random desi aunties comming over and doing nothing but complementing each others clothes even though they think theyrs is the bestest by far and the rest deserve to goto hell

uncles and aunties ive not seen in 10 yaers come over and asking for report cards on demand.

All uncles and aunties saying thier kids get 100% in each and every class they take

Moms watching a week of cricket and becoming sudden cricket experts thinking thier sons who have watched the sport all thier life are comeplete cricket nooobs

dad snoaring so hard that he wakes himself up

little cousins comming over and terrorising bedrooms

uncles aunties, relatives family members arguing over who should eat first allowing the dinner to last like 6 hours

eldest uncles and aunties wwho are the first to rush to the food at the weddings leaving left overss

random uncles telling u which career u should choose despite the fact theyve only known u for 2 min

desi uncles and aunties making fun of the BA degreee ( what is that ARTS? are u painting beta)

desi aunties who tend to idolize bollywood stars like theres no tomorow

Desi aunties who come over and do nothing but disscuss indain dramas as if i already have not had enough of it

Desi uncles who u thought was super duper religous puttiing random loud club music in thier vans and taking u for a spin and ur like

i cant think of more, im suppose to be in bed

and oh yea, The Truth talking to himself

Thank you very much for the laughs. Shookran.

Fi aman illah,

As for me....

Proving that someone is lying and they still dont admit it. Hypocracy. Saying, " I WAS going to tell you, or I SWEAR I WAS going to let you know...", People acting like they are the greatest Muslims and preaching about Quran and Hadith, then pulling up the street to a traffic light and hearing booming loud music, a BMW with spinners, then looking over your shoulder to see its the same "Mu2min." (Once they notice you they are going to higher the tinted windows of course...oh yea with the Quran dangling from the rear-view mirror.

"Before you point your finger at others, make sure your hands are clean."

Should I expect you to get me involved in some scuffle with the Law and then bring a case against me?

Is that some kind of zidd?

It is.

Not la sabab.

And yeah, I am in a very accommodating mood nowadays (save with my mom :squeez: ). So if you have anything else for me besides ziddi, snooty, snobby (this anyway I have brought upon myself ^_^), bemurawwat blah blah, you better vomit it out ere I go back to my usual caustic self.

My sweet little sister, the only thing I seem to have been exempted from these days is nausea and vertigo, therefore I sincerely regret my inability to vomit.

Blessed be, and so far as the caustic self is concerned, to me it as as marghoob as this one. Samjheen?

 You forgot who you were addressing?

Yeah, I believe you!

I did not give my particulars (read: address) to you for you to note them down and hang them up as an adornment for some corner of your house. You are supposed to send them back to where they belong, along with what you asked them for in the first place.

And I see no translation in sight as yet! Are you having difficulty finding someone who could do it? If yes, do it yourself. You aren't bad at it, and instead of wasting time discussing inane topics like anger is Haram :Hijabi:, do something of value and earn some Hasanaat in the process

I believe it is very annoying when people tell you to go buy them birthday presents. Because a present should be from a heart. People are so fed up in their own selves and drained themselves in materialism which I also find pretty annoying. I like the simple ways of things. Like saying thank you and sorry. I find it annoying when people who say they forgive you for your mistake but still hold a grudge about it. I hate when your friends don't care the least about you. It's very annoying to me when girls try to impress guys or the other way around. I find really annoying when people say "it's a free country" because maybe it is, but we are so limitied. I don't like when people blame everything on the Indians or Pakistanis at my school and say we start commotion. I find annoying when people don't tell the truth. I find annoying when people believe in rumors. I find annoying when you have to ask your friends for permission to put their picture up, because they are your friends, why would you have to ask permission. I find annoying when people go to their prayer place, and take longer to dress up and end up missing their prayers, but at least in their mind they look good. I get annoyed that no one seems to appreciate the simple and beautiful things of life.

So far as the promised thing is concerned, it will be sent to as and when it becomes available. Jann Mayree, you forget something of very essence to the matter. We did not settle upon any timeframe. :P

Now the translation. To be honest [and ashamed if possible] I do not even remember whichtranslation you are talking talking about.

If you could remind me, I might make a dive for that Hasanaat you speak of . . .

Blessed be . . .

No.

I won't agree to the "sweet" part, the "little" part I will, depending on the connotation.

So far as the promised thing is concerned, it will be sent to as and when it becomes available.

What do you mean by "becomes available"? Is it the Koh-e-Noor diamond that has been sought?

Jann Mayree, you forget something of very essence to the matter. We did not settle upon any timeframe. :P

Some things are tacitly understood. Your asking me for the address would not be understood as anything other than that you wanted to send the item soon. Mind you, I did not provide my address to you of my own accord. You asked for it.

Moreover I told my mother about it. To my relief, she has forgotten to remember about it, but if she does and I am going to give this "excuse" to her, well, that is probably what she will have to say- that you are only making excuses.

:squeez:

And yeah, you promised to send it while I was alive. Any guarantee when Allah wills otherwise? ;)

Now the translation. To be honest [and ashamed if possible] I do not even remember whichtranslation you are talking talking about.

If you could remind me, I might make a dive for that Hasanaat you speak of . . .

It probably lies in your "Received Files" folder. The document is in farsi. I will log onto MSN and remind you all the same, though.

And what is it with coming back to answer after such a long gap, when you are very much a regular on the site?

Now, someone's going to earn Sky's wrath too :Hijabi:
