Wearing Black Shoes

Does anyone know of a hadith saying that wearing black shoes is makruh (not recommended) and wearing yellow shoes is recommended?

"Narrated to us my father saying: Narrated Ahmad bin Idris saying: Narrated to me Muhammad bin Ahmad, from Musa bin Omar, from Abdallah bin Jablah, from Hanan bin Sudair who said:

I entered on Abu Abdallah [as] wearing a black shoe, and he said: Why are you wearing a black shoe? Did you not know there are three characteristics in it? The narrator said: I said, what are they, may I be your ransom? He [as] said: It weakens your vision, loosens your penis and brings you depression. On top of that, it is part of the arrogant apparel. Wear the yellow shoes, for in it is three characteristics. The narrator said: I said, what are they? He [as] said: It sharpens the vision, strengthens the penis and puts away the depression, and furthermore, it is part of the Prophets [as] apparel".

According to riwaayat wearing black shoes is Makruh as for once it reduces rizq.

White and Yellow shoes are preferred, but aslong as you try to avoid black shoes then it is ok.

I have to wear black shoes to school everyday, it's part of the uniform :( I didn't know a hadith like that actually existed. I read about it and thought it was non-sense.

Reference is given below the hadith. I dont know its authentic or not. Consult your scholar for that.

But its true that wearing black shoes is 'Makrooh' according to many shia scholars.

QUESTION:

Long time ago we received a Shari ruling about not wearing black shoes, I got a lot of phone calls and messages about that issue and the question is what is the reason why Muslims can not wear black shoes, I need a strong answer because many brothers are asking , why? Please answer in reference to the Qur'an.

ANSWER:

Wearing black shoes is not haram. In the books of akhlaaqiyaat (i.e. morals and ethics) there are directives from the ahadith which indicate that to put on black shoes is makrooh - that is unworthy - or something better to avoid.

my uncle once told me a while ago that Pharoahs men had black shoes when against Moses . not sure is its true or anything, but i had black shoes in the past which i wear sometimes with my suit or i use the black shoes when in pakistan becuz its so dusty, but after those black shoes that i bought like 3 yrs ago i havent purchased that color since and i wont nomore., i like navy blue tho.
