Eight, the ziyarat of Arba`een i.e. Safar 20th: In his books Tahdhib al-Ahkam and Misbah al-Mutahajjid, Shaykh Tusi has quoted from Imam `Askari (`a) that he had said that a believer's qualities were five: a. It is the ardent desire of every Shia to visit the Holy shrines of their immaculate Imam (a.s.). Most of us had that opportunity before and will visit them again, Insha Allah while there are many who will go to them soon. Making your presence in front of them requires more of a sincerity, love and passion alongwith recognition of their rights. Arbae'en is near and it is the best opportunity for each one of us to call out labbaik. Those yearning for the Ziyarat of Ab'a Abdillah should take a step ahead and start with preparations, as in: Do I have my passport ready? Is it nearing expi

Salam Alaykum I am from Toronto, and Inshallah will be going for ziyarat before arbaeen, and will be there during arbaeen. I plan on going to Najaf first, and from there to Karbala. The problem is that I will not be going with a kafila because unfortunately I can not afford it. I am using my left over money from osap and my credit card to cover the cost. The ticket it self is $1700 CAD. Is there anyone who is interested in going together ? or for those who are not in the same country, maybe we can meet in Najaf or Karbala and accompany each other. It is my first time g

SALAAMUN ALAIKUM Alqamah bin Mohammed ibn Hazrami (r.a.) narrates ‘I requested Imam Baqir (a.s.) to teach me a dua that I should recite on the day of Aashoora after the reciting the Ziyaarat of Imam Husain (a.s.) – from near his (a.s.) grave or from a distance.’ Imam (a.s.) replied ‘O Alqamah, whenever you wish to recite the Ziyaarat of Imam Husain (a.s.), you first perform two units of prayers. Then turn towards the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) and while pointing towards it, you first say ‘Salam’ and then ‘Takbir’. Thereafter, you recite this Z

In the name of Allah(SWT)! Salam aleykum dear brothers and sister. Alhamdulillah I got the opportunity to do ziyarat of Imam Ridha(a.s.) in Mashhad and I will be here until the end of this week and I intend on being in his masjid as much as I can. I would like to take this opportunity to also pray/make duas for my brothers and sisters here on SC. If you have any dua that you would like me to read for the Imam(a.s.) then you are very welcomed to PM either brother @magma, sister @notme, or sister @starlight and they will remove your identity and just forward the dua to me so

Salamalaikum, Me and my family are hoping to go for ziyarat to Iraq making all 4 stops to Karbala, Najaf, Samarra and Khadimayn. We are planning to go ideally without a package because that way we can stay where we like for as long as we like etc. I know the visa process is a little complicated however we have found someone who charges £300 for 5 people to do the visas. My questions are: Do you know what airport is best to fly to from the UK? - Baghdad/Najaf. What's the best way to communicate from Ziyarat to Ziyarat ? - coach/taxi. Are there any suitable pac

Salaam brothers and sisters, this thread is about your travels including past travels. I have traveled only once. And that was when I traveled to India back in late 2007 and that was for only 2 weddings. My parents are from India so I am technically Indian but I was born in Canada so I am Canadian. Now recently, my father planned to take me to Mecca for umrah, and to India twice and to Iraq for ziyarat. It's going to be a great trip, it has been 9 years since I last traveled.

Salam all, I am looking for information regarding going to ziyarat to Iraq and Iran this summer. Unfortunately, it does not seem that much information is online regarding how to plan for such a trip - what to bring, how to get there, where to live, etc. Do people only go through travel agencies these days? If so, what's a good travel agency in NY? I've only found one online which looks somewhat reliable. Jazak'Allah!

Ayatullah Najafi Kochani (r.a.), an extremely devout scholar of his time, was one of Mulla Akhund Khorasani’s most distinguished students. The former has mentioned a dream in he saw during his days in the Hauze Ilmiyya in Isfahan. He saw death in the guise of a calf. It was enveloped by three to four children. These children were gliding over my house, until one of them sat on the wall of my house. This dream was most fascinating. Ayatullah Najafi wrote a letter to his father explaining the entire dream to seek its interpretation. In the end he requested his father to reply as soon as possible

Ziyaarat–e-Aashoora and the supplication recited after it, which is famous as Dua-e-Alqamah, are reliable narrations which cannot be rejected. Their presence in ancient and authentic Shia books shows that scholars, traditionalists and theologians have been particular in narrating the same and jurists have carefully considered its chain of transmission before authenticating it. Ziyaarat-e-Aashoora, which is widely reported in Shia books, has two primary sources: 1. Kaamil al-Ziyaaraat of Ibne Qulwayh (r.a.) (exp. 367 A.H.) 2. Misbaah of Shaikh Toosi (r.a.) (exp. 460 A.H.)
