Salam, My question is that on one hand Imam Ali a.s says that he is far away from world (he has said Talaaq to this World) but on other hand we're living in this world. We have to make money and for the sake, when someone indulges in making money, he really gets into the world and its affairs that he forgets Allah (I mean not doing bad things in it but you know, couldn't remember Allah). How is it possible to be working in this world and hate it? I couldn't understand the statement of Imam. I would love your insights, some good lectures on this, quotes, riwayaats etc.
Also, if you are doing good randomly, without thinking of it and without remembering Allah, will Allah still reward you for that good act which is done at random? And, if you do a good act for the sake of pleasing Allah and helping someone, and you don't have any worldly benefits of that good act in mind and then you remember that this good act will please Allah and also benefit you in the future, is that still done for Allah or is it done for worldly benefits? For example, I am kind to my parents because I want to please Allah, then I also think that being kind to parents not only pleases Allah but also benefits me, and I do this good act, will it still be something I did for Allah or would it be that I did it for worldly gains? So I am nice to parents because of Sillah Rahm, and because they will help me in the future when I have financial problems, and I be nice with both of these in mind, does this mean I have done it for pleasing Allah? So please help answer if those niyyats (intentions) are counted for this world or Allah or both.
Salam, i was wondering if i could be enlightened on the topic of worldly knowledge and what to believe/ what not to believe. Most of the information we are given through the worldly education system could be seen as scientific evidence; subjects such as physics, biology, chemistry in terms of science are all observations, may/may not be truthful. The quran has given us great (truthful) knowledge but to an extent. However science in its thirst for power introduces theories of the world through observation or personal understanding. My question is, are we to follow on with these observations (Whether it be correct or incorrect) and accept them just to succeed in this world and discard when relating to Islamic knowledge? I have also heard that a grasp of the sciences is worthy to be understood when relating to some concepts of Islam, how is this? Is science an "observe and portray field of study"? Or is it passed on from the knowledge of several hundred years ago. Basically is it true or not?
