Assalamu alaykum. A Muslim/Muslimah can denouce to police a parent(his/her mother) for domestic violence(psychological violence) and violence on pets too(violence toward kittens anc cats in general). The mother is a non Muslim and she practice witchcraft.

I'm so tired of the utterly nonsensical and VERY COMMON Sunni notion of 'I am happy to seek unity with Shias as long as they don't curse/insult/abuse any Sahaba, and especially NOT Aisha, Abu Bakr, Omar, Uthman. Firstly, any Shia claim regarding the sahabi that happens to go against the Sunni narrative is considered insulting. Secondly, and more importantly, is that the same notion is true for Shias... You are insulting the Ahlul Bayt by not accepting them as divinely appointed leaders of Allah, and infallible individuals, and perfect preservers of the religion of Islam, and a high means of seeking closeness to Allah (intercession). Not only are you insulting revered Shia figures by not following them, you are commiting MAJOR shirk by giving a false attribute to Allah, by saying that Allah has not always appointed an infallible leader on this Earth, and that there currently isn't an infallible leader. Furthermore, the real kicker is that plenty of revered Shia figures, such as Abu Talib (رضي الله عنه), are considered kuffar by Sunnis. Is this not insulting? So, how can we Shias unite with Sunnis based on their own fallacious logic? Shias are the minority, and Sunnis are the majority. It makes Sunnis think that they are Orthodox and that they have to unite with Heterodox for political and humanitarian reasons, and that Shias must make [ridiculous] compromises. Shias are far more receptive to the unity message, because we actually understand Sunni Islam, and can see the commonalities. We understand that we can't make Sunnis compromise on their beliefs. Simply by being the minority within Islam, by nature we Shias already understand Sunni beliefs, whereas Sunnis have a basic strawman understanding of Shia beliefs... which is natural, considering that they are the majority. Anyways, the point of my post is the following: Let's compile a list of revered Shia figures that are not given their proper status by Sunnis, according to Shia Islam... with an explanation given. ...This is to show that we Shias and Sunnis can unite, but we cannot unite upon revered figures and imamah. ...This will also serve as a way of showing Sunnis that this argument of theirs makes no sense. Another important question we may ask is "What about commonly revered figures like Imam Ali (عليه السلام) who is given different status in both sects? Can we unite upon Imam Ali (عليه السلام)?" ...a common Sunni criticism of political unity is that "Ali ibn Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) is given an improper status in Shia religion because they call upon him... tawassul (intercession) of the 'dead' is Shirk! So there is absolutely no room for unity since we can't even agree on the status of the sahabi" [yes, I am aware that the Imams (عليه السلام) are still alive, but Sunnis don't believe this...] I would love to hear your thoughts. Salam Are there any tried and verified ways to break mob mentality? Can an observer make individuals think for themselves when they are being swept up by a fanatical crowd? Or will they only think for themselves if they want to, and maybe not even then? Is there any hope for avoiding history repeating?

I hear a lot of shias saying that Sunni Scholars were very violent people and were sinilar to terrorists. However once I looked up the shia perspective on Jihad its very violent as well. Al Allamah Al Hilli states: It is compulsory to wage Jihad on the jews and christians until the pay Jizya or convert or die, and compulsory on the rest to convert ot die. This is with the presence of the Imam. (Tadhkirat Al Fuqaha vol.9 pg.15) Now some people whom I have spoken to have stated that fighting non-muslims is only after the call to islam, which proves the truth of islam. While all shia scholars believe that the call to islam is co pulsory before fighting, only a few believe its in the form of destroying misconceptions of islam and proving islam to non-muslims. In fact in Riyadh Al-Masail it just states that the call to islam is only when you say: I call you to Allah and his religion...etc... And the shia scholars never say that the Imam is prohibited from waging war on innocent people. In fact they say it is wajib for him to wage war each year! They beleive the Mahdi is a terrorist! So shias should say: We condemn ISIS and the ancient Shia Scholars for terrorism!

Asalamu Ailakum, There has something that has been bothering me for quite some time about Muslims in general. Which is about all the stories where when some Western cartoonist decided that they want to draw a caricature to make fun of the prophet Muhammad (pbh) and then Muslims all around the world go insane over it. To the point where they want to kill this person and some times hold signs where they want his or her blood. Its just like with Charlie Hebdo who got shot and killed along with six other cartoonists for the cartoons they made of the prophet Muhammad (pbh). Why do Muslims have to go to such violent extents to try and defend their prophet when some one makes fun of them. Its like the infamous book The Satanic verses which discussed three verses that are said to be spoken out of the prophet's toungue but not form Allah which makes them false and the whole Muslim world was in upheavel because of it. So many violent demonstrations happened because of it, the West and middle eastern relationships were getting worse, Ayotallah Khomeni himself issued a fatwa to assassinate the man who wrote the book and other associated with it who were actually killed. Now I'm sure that most of you don't agree with what these Muslims did but I ask as to why does it happen in the first place. Christians barely do anything about it (maybe since they have no choice since they have already lost their momentum in the west and just have to accept it if they want more followers) but we have to go to the point as to kill these people for making fun of our religion when they in fact do the same thing about every other one. perhaps we should react peacufully through demonstrations or just confront that what they are saying is wrong since these people are trying to address some issues about islam through animation instead of words so that it can catch our eye and we can discuss how to deal with it.

I am having a hard time selecting the best way to answer someone that is thinking that Muslims are practicing a violent religion. I have tried many different approaches to this, but can not come up with the a clear and solid strategy. Quoting scriptures is not effective because most people can not follow due to lack of knowledge. Some have heard of some scriptures that talk about violence, but discussing these scriptures are usually a waste of time for some reason. I have been using scriptures from the Qur'an that explains how a Muslim can not be violent and so on, but I am starting to think that fatwas and speeches by educated Muslims, Ayatollah, and so on... that explains this - is much better to use. Maybe prepare some website links and so on. The reason is that people seem to think that so many Muslims interpret the Qur'an in a violent way - regardless of what scriptures i show them. When i explain that the Qur'an don't allow violence, people just say that it does not matter, as they are convinced that Muslims ignore those parts, to focus on other parts they can use to execute violence. Anybody have some input ? -
A few lines from an article recounting an incident of violence against a woman and the silence of society, especially of 'religious' people who otherwise are the most loudest and fiercest when it comes to battling perceived affronts to the faith and the faithful. I did not see any religious political or social organisation out in the streets in their hundreds to condemn violence against (Muslim) women. Only some so called "secular" NGOs protested. Italics are mine. PS I am posting this thread not in South Asian affairs but here because I think behaviours mentioned in this report are symptomatic of wider social attitudes in contemporary Muslim societies. Salam Alaykum, I am writing in this forum for the first time as I would like to know your views on a matter that really makes me sad. As we all know, the Medias has always portrayed our peaceful religion as a barbaric and violent religion despite our efforts to convince our Non-Muslims friends that it is not, they don’t believe us and they actually quote verse from the Quran. Just a couple of weeks ago, a British friend of mine who was very much interested in understanding Islam and the teaching of the Quran started to show strong animosity against Muslims. I came to know that she had read some verses of the Quran that apparently called for violence against non-Muslims, wife beating, etc. I feel that we haven’t done our best to show the pure Islam to the world and we really need to have online resources designed specifically for non-Muslims so they can understand better the controversial verses of the Quran from an unbiased source. The simple answer is NO. It does NOT, and anti-Islamic propagandists that claim Islam is spread by the sword or evil like Pastor Terry Jones need to have that planted in their thick brainless skulls. We often suffer from the lies and propaganda that the wahabis spread to degrade Shia Islam but we pay less attention to the bigger enemies that attack our holy prophet and noble Quran. At the same time ,the dajjal and liar Terry Jones and his Shayteen(devils) in his church and the likes of them are the people who the media narrowly focuses on to portray Islam to others, so it is our wajib(duty) to go out there and refute their baseless claims. Unfortunately, we do not show much effort to refute them , and the only reaction coming from Muslims in general that the western media focuses on is from the Wahabis, in which they respond to them in the most uncivilized and uneducated manner. Fortunately,however, one of our Shia western Imams went out in public and had an open dialogue with terry Jones on public television and entirely refuted his baseless claims. The Imam is Hassan Al-Quizin and he is the leader of the Islamic mosque of Dearborn , which is the largest mosque in all of North America. Protect Mourners of Imam Hussain(as) In the wake of recent increase of incidents of sectarian violence in Pakistan, the American Shia Muslims urge the government of Pakistan to provide protection to the Mourners of Imam Hussain(as) and hold accountable those responsible for targeted killings. The targeted killings of Shia are a barbaric attempt at sectarian and ethnic cleansing. “The government’s failure to break up the extremist groups that carry out these attacks calls into question its commitment to protect all of its citizens.” Wahabbi militant groups such as the supposedly banned Lashkar-e Jhangvi operate with impunity even in areas where state authority is well established, such as Punjab and Karachi. the military, law enforcement agencies and the Frontier Corps (FC) are responsible for the security of the people and they should safeguard the lives of the people belonging to a community under attack by the extremists. National and provincial authorities should make all possible efforts to quickly apprehend and appropriately prosecute those responsible for the attacks and other crimes targeting the Shia population.
