Salaam, Our Sunni brothers often give credit to Caliph Uthman for compiling the Quran. His credit is not just that he organized the Surahs from longest to shortest but that he actually organized the verses into Surahs. Additionally, they say that Allah revealed the Quran in 7 ahraf and the Prophet left the Quran as such, Caliph Uthman took it upon himself to consolidate the Quran into 1 huruf.
