  1. Salaam, I had the privilege and honor of going to Umrah a few weeks ago. Having completed my hajj in 2010, it was time to pay Hijaz another visit to pay my respects to the Prophet (saw) and his progeny in Madinah and visit the House of Allah in Makkah. Hopefully the pointers below will help anyone planning on going for Umrah. First, if you haven't been to Saudi before, it is best to go with a registered group. It will make things easier for you because other than following instructions, there shouldn't be much to worry about..Also, if you don't speak arabic or urdu/hindi/bengali
  2. Salam, My husband and I would like to go for Umrah this year. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any shia travel agencies that can help us from the US? I would prefer one in Texas, but open to anywhere in the US. Does anyone know of any shia groups going to Umrah during Ramadan? And is it permissible to do Umrah during Ramadan? We just want to go for a maximum of 3 days, possibly the last 3 days of Ramadan.

  4. many of my shia friends and their families prefer going to ziarat then going to umrah or hajj i asked them why is it so and they replied as it is financially easier to go to ziarat then to umrah or hajj. Can anyone explain this thought?
  5. Muslims believe that Quran is the Book of Allah uncovered to PBUH (Prophet Muhammad) that will proceed positively till fulfillment of the world to guide and direct the entire humanity, independent of country, land mass, nation, era, and region. 6. With Ramadan Umrah Packages 2017 UK, the act of Umrah is done to purify the soul from the past sins hence, Umrah can be done more than once in your life. As the prophet says, An Umrah to another Umrah will be done for the expiations of the sins. Performing the Umrah also saves one from being poor as this is done totally for the sake of Allah and pilgrims spend their hard-earned money. Just like Hajj, the performance of Umrah can be counted among the finest deeds one can do. It is believed that Allah adores those who excel in following His teachings and move in life on His paths to pl
  7. Salaam, Just a simple question, should I go on the Umrah? The package prices are rather low, and now seems to be a good time. Has any older member gone on the Umrah, I am disabled by the way, so I am a bit concerned about that.
  8. As-salaamun alaykum, Alhamdulillah, I have been blessed to visit the holy lands of Makkah and Madinah for the ziyarah of our six masumeen (a.s) and Umrah mufradah inshallah. As I was looking for short notes on the method of performing Umrah, I came across this one: http://www.islamicbulletin.org/free_downloads/hajj/english/hajj_english_letter_size.pdf I will be really grateful if you could help me by reading this Umrah guide and let me know whether the steps mentioned are according to the shia faith. If not, please provide another Umrah guide which satisfies the shia faith, if available.
  9. Salaams, Alhamdulillah, I have been blessed to go for the Umrah spiritual journey during this month. As a matter of fact, I am really concerned about the language barrier as none of my family members can speak Arabic. Is there any mobile phone application (preferably android or iphone) that I can use to translate sentences from English to Arabic? It would be great if this application can work offline. I will be really grateful for any help provided which will smooth-en my journey. Jazakallah
  10. As-salamun Alaykum, My family and I intend to go for the Umrah spiritual journey during the end of June 2014 (including 6 days of mahe-Ramadhan). As the cost of this trip is going out of preplanned budget, I'm really concerned about the additional expenses, excluding accommodation and air fare, that I will have to incur. I will be really grateful if you could help me with some information as follows: - Is the food relatively cheap in Makkah and Madinah? What could be an estimate cost of meals for 10 days for a group of 5 people (not too heavy meals)? - How much would I need to spend on transp

  13. (bismillah) (salam), Let's say person A is a Shi`a Muslim and has his permanent residence somewhere outside Makkah. He needs to visit Makkah for a day for a business meeting (not during Hajj season). He does not have such meetings regularly. He can not extend his stay in Makkah. He doubts he'll be able to perform Umrah al-Mufrada with the short time he has on his hands and can, at best, only find time to perform a few Rakahs of prayer in the Masjid al Haram and perhaps perform a single Tawaf. What does he do? I've heard of 2 options. 1) He must perform Umrah al-Mufrada under any circumstance

  15. Assalam alaykom! I am trying to gather some information regarding Umrah logistics when travelling from the USA. I have already gone for Hajj, alHamdolillah and am trying to arrange for a short trip to Makkah only for Umrah. For Hajj, of course, you have to go in a group so all logistics are arranged through them. But for Umrah, I would like to go individually (meaning, not with a caravan / group) and stay at a hotel that is right in front of the haram. (My parents recently stayed at Al Safwah - Royal Orchid? and it was super convenient for them.) Does anyone here have any experience travelli
