  1. As salamu alaykum I hope everyone is in the best of health Insha’Allah during these crazy times. I’m a 18 year old Palestinian and Egyptian born Muslim and a new “revert” from ahlul Sunnah to the Ahlul Bayt school of thought. I was wondering if anyone had any good book recommendations about Islamic history and good source books. Growing up Islamic history wasn’t emphasised so I’m kinda a newbie to in depth context and sources sourrounding the context of when surahs/ ayas were revealed, I.e Surah al Tawbah, or hadiths/ history surrounding the martyrdom of Hussain as. I don’t know if this is related but also if anyone has any recommendations for mosques in London and also mosques that possibly offer lessons that would be great too. Jazak’Allah everyone.
  2. It is interesting to note that, there is a 'DUA OF THE DAY,' HADITH OF THE DAY', but, there is no 'VERSE OF THE DAY' IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE AN Islamic FORUM? So in what HADITH AFTER THIS will they believe? 77-50
  3. Salam everybody, So as you all know the Qur'an is perfect in all its entirety. However do some of you have a favorite Surah or Verse that hits closer to home on a personal level? And why exactly? Just a fun little question I always wanted to ask.
  4. Salaam Alykum Everyone, Not sure if I’m posting this under the right topic but I’ll be grateful for any help / insight into my dream. In it, I was told to recite Surah Ayn 30 times... I have tried looking at numerous sources etc but can’t find a Surah Ayn.... Can Ayn mean something else? What is the significance of 30? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you
  5. *Nine Lessons from Surah Hujurat* "When a glass breaks, the sound of breaking disappears immediately, whereas the glass pieces are scattered all over, hurting whoever walks over it". Similarly, "When you say something that hurts someone's emotions and feelings, your words disappear, but in the heart remains pain for long." Therefore, don't say anything except good and always remember the nine advises and prohibitions that Allah has given in Surah Hujurat (The Surah of manners) before you say anything to anyone: 1.-فتبينوا: "Fa Tabayyanu": Investigate: whenever you receive an information, lest you harm people out of ignorance. 2.-فأصلحوا: "Fa Aslihu": Make settlement: between your brothers as believers are brothers. 3.-وأقسطوا: "Wa Aqsitu": Act justly: whenever there is a dispute try for settlement and act justly among both parties as Allah loves those who act justly. 4.-لا يسخر: "La Yaskhar": Don't ridicule people, perhaps they may be better than you to Allah. 5.-ولا تلمزوا: "Wa La Talmizu": Don't insult one another. 6.-ولا تنابزوا: "Wa La Tanabazu": Don't call each other with offensive nicknames. 7.-اجتنبو كثيرا من الظن: "Ijtanibu Kathiiran min Aldhan": Avoid negative assumptions, indeed some of the assumptions are sins. 8.-ولا تجسسوا: "Wa La Tajassasu": Don't spy on each other. 9.-ولا يغتب بعضكم بعضا: "Wa La Yaghtab": Don't backbite about each other. It's a major sin equivalent to eating your dead brother's flesh. Lastly, Allah says in the Qur'an "Remind, because the reminder benefits believers".
  6. This sheikh at the mosque often recites Bismillahi rrahmani rrahim twice during surah Qul huwa Allahu Ahad. Is this justified ?
  7. Asalam o alakum Ali Is it haraam to recite a Surah after Surah Fatiha in the 4th rakat or is it just not needed(necessary). Is the prayer of a person valid who (out of ignorance) recites two surahs (fatiha and some other) in the 4th rakat ?
  8. Salaam, I know certain Dua's and Surah's should be recited after Isha Prayers, however I receite sura Ya-Seen, Maryam, Ta-ha, Waqiah on a regular basis, can I recite it at any time or maybe after an obligatory prayer? W/S
  9. Salaam, I have been playing Surah Baqarah daily on my computer (loudly) , is it equivalent as receiving to keep the shaitaan away? I have also been receiving the First 4 verses, Aytul Kursi and then the last 3 verses morning and night. Also, are there benefits of playing surah's and dua's at your house? and what about playing the entire Quran in your house? perhaps on weekly or monthly basis? Please advice. Thank you,

  12. (salam) I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on " Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled." Whats the context behind it, if there is any?
