  1. In Iran, currently the Suprem Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hussain Al-Khamenei ( May Allah Lengthen His Life )banned the practices of online chatting and other protocols following the same aspect. Many ignorant lads are going against this jurisdiction. But if they could use their brain for once in a while instead of their naked eyes, they could've easily understood the eligibility of this system. In Facebook, there are many private groups which are made in terms of inappropriate and illegal means. They are not only illegal according to Islam but also violating the general human resources.

  3. Salam Alaykom, I've been a Twitter user myself for a very long time and honestly i don't think that i have ever come across a more toxic platform. There is so much division amongst members of society and religious sects on it. There are countless arguments on a daily basis amongst sects and other groups. At first i thought it due to Twitter's young users however this isn't the case, you get many full grown adults arguing on a daily basis too. It's as if they feed off it. What's your take on this? Do you share the same opinion?
  4. Social media, a world of responsibility with enormous numbers of irresponsibles... Let's not just become a forwarding machine ... When we just forward: At least what we can do is to check the source of a matter popped up on our screens. There are number of appealing messages floating everywhere on social media but we do no good by just forwarding these, we fulfill the sole purpose of its sender by passing it on. Knowledge is always a result of the efforts of only the knowledgeable people, not just everyone. Therefore least we can do is to check out traceable source if men

  6. I am human, I make mistakes, therefore please correct my reasoning with references if possible, as I have separated from my partner over the matter of "displaying one's beauty", and perhaps I am wrong in my thought process. In the situation of a woman who does not observe hijab, but covers her body well; My reasoning: it is wrong to post your photos on social media where men are able to view your photo. Allah says in the quran do not display your beauty. You are a woman with beauty, you are posting a photo on social media, you are displaying yourself on social media, by posting on so
  7. Why is that Shia Muslim content is lacking on Social media platform such as Facebook and Youtube. Hardly there is any Youtube channel or Facebook page with Shia content where followers are above 10k. On social media shia admins mostly share conflicting issues or lectures of non-shia scholars who seconds some of our ideology. But unfortunately there are hardly any shia pages or channel which talks on common ground to attract people towards shia islam. On the other hand youtube channel and facebook pages with non-shia content and speakers are growing day by day. Every other non-shia faceboo
  8. Salaams. There is a Shi'a related TELEGRAM channel for those of you who are interested! Find the link below.. The link is - https://t.me/shiatwelvers God bless
  9. I can relate to it in the context of a couple of discussion boards (which I've outgrown) but I can't relate to it when it comes to popular social media platforms like those mentioned in tags. I don't have twitter or instagram or viber or whatever. I have a very old FB account which remains idle most of the year except lately when I've needed to use frequently to administer a travel group and do only and only that. But it seems social media is fast becoming a health hazard and a social crisis. I'm sure there are people among the readers who suffer from the addiction. How do you tackl
  10. As someone who grew was a child in the days before social media was 'a thing'. I can't help but think social media is forcing us to live in a 'bubble' surrounded only by those who agree with us. When you go on facebook, youtube, even google news, these sites show you content by default that matches with your past viewing / searching habits. So, for example, if you are a democrat, you will see links from Washington Post / NY Times at the top of your search pages. If you are a Republican, you will see Fox News, NY Daily News, Washington Times, etc. You will start to think after a while tha
  11. What are the rules of social media? Are you allowed to have social media accounts? If not, is there a reason as to why you cannot?
  12. Please read all of it. This is a serious issue affecting our Muslim community! Assalaamu alaykom wa rahmatullahu wa barakatuh, firstly I ask all of you who read this to sincerely open your hearts to accepting what is truth and rejecting what is false. If you find any good in what is said then follow it, if not you are free to choose what to do with it. There is an issue in the Muslim youth that I am particularly disturbed by and have been looking for ways to create this awareness through people of influence or who have the platform to create awareness on a large scale. I don't know h
  13. Salam Everyone, What does one do when they feel totally trapped in Social media? Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp and what not When it starts taking toll on things that really matter. For example, it takes your time away from work, where your performance starts to get affected. and then, it starts affecting your sleep cycles. Health Starts to deteriorate. Where does it stop or what should we do to stop this viscous cycle? I think it has negatively affected my personal and professional development. Please help, anyone?
  14. (bismillah) Social media makes it all too easy to see other people's religious shortcomings. It's on public display and it's right in your face. For example when our Muslim sisters post glamour shots of themselves in bright glittery makeup, or post pictures of themselves making suggestive faces/ poses. Or when we see our Muslim brothers making flirtatious comments on posts and pictures, or having conversations on full display that seem a little too comfortable with girls. Or our Muslim siblings posting Music videos with horrible lyrics or promoting licentious TV shows... I'm not trying to
  15. Something similar was reported last year as well. The program is covert i.e. students are to hide the fact that they're being paid to write positively about the Israeli regime. Students offered grants if they tweet pro-Israeli propaganda In a campaign to improve its image abroad, the Israeli government plans to provide scholarships to hundreds of students at its seven universities in exchange for their making pro-Israel Facebook posts and tweets to foreign audiences. The students making the posts will not reveal online that they are funded by the Israeli government, according to corre
