salam alykum wrwb, alhamdulillah who Created everything & guided it. Islam wise, education is important. Not looking to suppress but to enhance innate knowledge through the acquisition of acquired form of knowledge. Inasmuch as Islamic knowledge is important. alhamdulillah. So how come is it that those that teach at seminaries are feeding wrong type of Islam. Assuming that they qualified with wrong knowledge taken from their predecessors of which the fault is 'not theirs' per se, how to know if these lessons are legit? Some of those who embraced Islam before others are blinded by vices(kibr etc) such that when comparison is made between their deeds & Qur'an & find that what is practised is not according to the book, they become heedless & stubborn about things. eg, 'you are the sheep & am a sherperd, you can't tell me the time of Fajr, even if it's in the Qur'an!!!' So why are we taught the wrong type of Islam @ places like Al Mustapha uni. Those that qualify go on to teach what they learned. It doesn't make much difference if Muharram is the first month or not, it will remain Muharram. Yet other lessons are critical in their nature. Do we sincerely learn to apply or do we learn to be ducks & just speak about it without applying? alhamdulillah for being a slow learner. The little that is learned satiates when applied.

If our Prophet Muhammad (P.b.u.H) had been sent in this era, would you even consider His teachings? If yes.... Have you been open-minded enough to consider other religions or ideas that are against the teachings of your forefathers? :ideas-worth-pondering:

فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا " So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord - let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone." [18.1] Occasion of revelation : A man came to the Prophet and said: "I give charity/alms and connect with my relatives ,and it do it only to please God but when people speak of my work and I would be happy because of their praise."The Prophet was silent then the above verse was revealed. Reason of revelation clearly shows sincerity is the foundation of worship and good deeds and there is relation between pure intention and ostentation(Rya) In fact, faith in the Resurrection has two effects, one good deeds and sincerity in practice and believe in meeting of Allah motivates good deeds and Full sincerity . question:Some of the charity organizations help the poor people, and we know that they deny resurrection because they are atheists, therefore, we can do good deeds without believing in resurrection .How do you explain their actions ? Answer:Yes, you're right atheist people are doing good deeds ,but their intent is to promote themselves or acquire reputation or satisfying sense of compassion which is an instinctive sense. But this verse says that doing good deeds with the intention of pleasing God is possible in faith in Resurrection and sort of intention has great role in in human perfection. In normal circumstances, all can claim to be the best. For, in such conditions there is nothing as a true criterion for investigating. Like all life states, the same thing is going on in the relationship between Lord and His servants. As you see, there are many people who claim they submit to Allah (SWT) and call themselves Muslims, but Are they really sincere in their claims? Although Allah (SWT) is omniscient and knows everything but it must become clear for servants as well. For, God legislated a religious order to ascertain people sincerity and fasting in holy month of Ramadan is a very important criterion in this regard. In Imam Ali’s wise sayings we read: “Fasting is a trial of people’s sincerity.” (Nahjul Balaghah, Wise saying no.252)

Bismileh rahmanir raheem. Assalamu alaykum, I recently saw these two comments in a thread - One commenter said: "One thing to remember is we don't believe in doing good deeds solely for the sake of them. Everything must be done solely for the sake of Allah ÓÈÍÇäå æÊÚÇáì. Thus if a good deed is done for the pleasure of someone else besides Allah then what value will it really have in His Eyes?" The reply: "Pleasing creation (not showing off) still is good in itself is not. You help a poor person for the sake of that person, how does that not have merit? You help someone for the sake of helping him, how does that not have merit?" Any ideas/thoughts on both these statements? JazakAllah.

Maybe the majority of the Shiachatters are living in non-Muslim and non-Shia(majority) countries. After reading a news article and some topics on here questions arise to which extend Muslims in general are sincere to their societies in which they live. Some demand from Muslims to be politically active in their societies. One major thing is: The majority of Shia Ulama are living in Iraq or Iran. They may not be aware of situation of Muslims in the West or in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia etc.. although they read news and see what is happening in the West or in countries with non-Shia majority. But they give Fatwas for Shia in those countries as well. Now the question arises: Are we meant to be politically active or religiously? Since both seems to be impossible. Sometimes Muslims have to make agreements with parties to get for example a new mosque built, or new laws in favor of Hijab. Now the same party also support issues which might be against Muslims or Shia. One issue is for example Bahrain: One of the reasons(not the only one) why the West is reluctant in supporting Bahraini uprising is because it fears that it might become another place for Iranian involvment(which openly condemns the West). Another is Afghanistan or Pakistan, in which Shia are sometimes seen as Iranian puppets. As for Sunnis(and secular Shia), they integrate easier into societies, why? Because the simply don't follow political advice from other places(except for the new rise of Wahabi/Salafi who follow their Saudi Shaikhs). The problem to me is: when it comes to Shia and politics people start fearing Shia(one reason: Iran against West). Now the question is are we sincere towards the societies in which we live when we involve politics(international) and religion? And to whose benefit is it? How should Shia people proceed? Do you keep out of poltics because you think it is not your business? How important is politics in your life? Do you agree with everything your Marja(if you have one) says on politics? I mean, lets be direct: Perhaps the Shia think that society is stupid and they can go everywhere and try to convince others both politically and religiously from Shia/Islamic path. But this results in stagnation and no progress as society is not so easily tricked. What do you think on Islam and politics?
