Why are the shrines of the Shia (for example in Iraq) so grand and majestic when there are poor people everywhere? It's beautiful when we rebuild the Shrines of our Imams but is it right to spend so much money/gold when there 3million orphans in Iraq? Iraqis and shias have no home, which is the right act of Islam?
Bismillahi Rahman'ir Rahim Salamu Aleykum brothers and sisters! I have a silver ring with a yaqoot stone from Iran! On top of the ring there is a part which is coated in gold! I am not home atm so I gonna provide you a picture later on. However I found a picture of a similiar ring with the Same condition but without a yaqoot stone! Instead there is a firuzeh/ turqoise! My question is: am I allowed to wear this ring and am I allowed to wear it while namaz/ salat! I am following ayatollah seyed sistani ha. wa salam
I have been browsing the forum quite a lot lately; I have quite little understanding of rings recommended for Shias to wear however I have overcome this via a little click here and there on ShiaChat as well as relevant sources/sites. Now, where I come from, my relatives and my family -all of whom are hanafi- say that men are only allowed to wear up to a certain Karot of gem as well as a certain Tola(weight) in silver per ring? I have tried to research this but no luck on my end; Most of it was biased. I would just like to know if anyone has any insight to this and can help me or perhaps guide me to a relevant/reputable source that states something about this topic, please? TLDR; is there a limit on the Value of the Gem(Karot) and weight(Tola) of the silver per ring? Thank you
Is anyone else investing in silver (or other precious metals)? I *just* purchased my very first piece. It is an American Silver Eagle. 1 troy ounce. I bought it from a local coin shoppe. They charged $5 over spot, which came to a total of $35.72 USD. I think the premium is a little high, but I was so excited to have the silver to worry about it. In the future I'll probably buy online. My goal for now is one troy ounce per month, although that may be difficult. I don't know. But I'm really happy right now. I got a 2011 coin, which is a little disappointing. I didn't think to look at the dates when he gave me the bucket to go through. I just picked a shiny one :P I was hoping to get a 2012 coin for my very first one, just to symbolize my commitment. Oh well, it's not like it matters :P The shop keeper was really nice. He gave me some pointers on collecting and told me to keep an eye out for certain years because they are much more valuable (not because of silver content - they're all the same, but because of rarity). If I found one, I would honestly probably just sell it to buy more silver, just because I am only interested in having a stock of silver - I don't care about rare coins. So what about other people? Do any of you buy silver? Got any tips for keeping it? How do you store it? I LOVE MY SILVER EAGLE. :P
