Hi everyone, I was wondering, how did Shiism spread to the Indian subcontinent? By Shiism, I am referring to Twelver Shiism. I know that Ismailis were spread throughout the subcontinent before Twelver Shias, most notably in Multan (until they were exterminated by Mahmud of Ghazna). I believe that Twelver Shiism only became popular in the subcontinent after the rise of the Safavids in Iran. Is it possible that the rise of Twelver Shiism in the subcontinent was due to Shia missionary activity and migrations from Iran to Mughal India? (salam) So i have been wondering about this for a long time and thought since there are so many non Pakistani Shia(NPS) on this forum, i might get an insight. Its weird that NPS feel so strongly about Bahrain,Iraq, Iran, Syria etc issues YET when it comes to Pakistan the same strong emotions arent shown. Protests are held by NPS for all these issues but they remain quiet about the oppression done on Pakistani Shia. Please respond to the poll and also state your opinion or any other reason you might have to explain this difference in behavior. Also this question seemed too callous to add in the
