Salam everyone I know this has been discussed before, and I skimmed several threads, but with the varying opinions and digressions, I just wanted to get a coherent view-point again. So here goes: Is it ok to put money in a savings account? Is it ok to buy a house through mortgage? I realize that the general idea to make those acceptable is to ensure that the intention is not to take a loan, but are there any caveats to that ruling (maybe something like not having a variable rate of interest etc.?). Thanks everyone
due to the possibility of working with riba? I want to get a job in college that pays well, so I can support myself even before I get my degree...I was thinking either working as a bank teller, or as a postal worker.....the problem with bank tellers is that they might work with riba (interest), and the problem with postal workers is that the post office business in the United States is dying due to growing technology.....what should I do? jazakallaha khair
I have been great fascinated by economics and business for quite a while now....on the economics exams in the 10th grade, I was in the 99th percentile in the nation.....(Im in 11th grade now).......is it haram to major in business administration so long as one does not work with riba, and is this possible?
Make a long story short.......I will be getting my mortgage loan originators license this fall. I was contacted by a brother in my community about possibly working for his company. How haram is it really to work in this business? I've read many things concerning fatwas on the topic. Some say it is not allowed, other's say if you don't have any choice, then there is the condition that you don't take out more that what you are approved for and must pay it off quickly (no 30yr loans). Please advise.
