  1. Hope you're all doing well. I tried to find the shia version of adam and eve's story but so far without any success. I could only find arguements/debates regarding his infallibilty (helped a little). So I'm here to ask if any of you have come across any online sources or pdf files that I could perhaps access and read? Thanks for reading and hope you can help Jazakum Allah kheiran
  2. al-Salaamu 'Alaykum, Ramadan Mubarak! Since the holy month of Ramadan is the month of revelation, and the very first word to be revealed was "iqra!" "read!" I decided to do something worthwhile in this holy month and try to share my hundreds of Islamic books by giving short reviews of them, one Islamic book review per night of the holy month of Ramadan. So 30 Nights 30 Books! I have decided to select books at random, covering various Islamic topics, hopefully this project of mine will be of benefit. Please give me comments and suggestions for this is the very first time I'm making such videos. Night 1: The Holy Qur'an, Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation
  3. salam brothers and sisters, In my childhood, I read a story, which I remember as follow: A man was passing by some place, there was a boy playing with something in the sand. When the person got close to that boy, he saw that the boy was playing with a dangerous living scorpion. The man was frightened that the scorpion might harm the boy, but was surprised to see that the boy kept the scorpion holding in his hands, picking it up and releasing it, and doing whatever he wanted, the scorpion was just being shy from boy and keeping its sting inward away from boy, as if trying to save the boy at all cost. The astonished man asked the boy how was he able to play with scorpion, the boy told the man a formula to recite aloud and blow it on scorpion and then he did not need to worry about scorpion and could play with it. The man did it, and was surprised that the boy was correct, scorpion became his friend too. the formula was like this: Kath ki muthia, moonjh ki baan ban ja bichcho Ali ki aan The above stanzas are in Urdu. 1st stanza is about creation of woven bed (if I am not wrong). The second stanza means that: Scorpion get become the honor for/of Ali (sa). I never find chance to test it out, can anyone try it, if he has access to scorpion. I know people have weird interests/pets :)

  5. (salam) Biography of Bibi Fatima (sa).. Let's all read as much as we can about this purity that left us this day.. To weep for her is to weep for the moons.. As they were left alone today, and her sun, the king of kings, Imam Ali (as).. Ya RasulAllah.. We are sorry :( Guilt twangs at my heart though I do not know why.. Bibi Fatima (sa) can I uphold your honour? Can I? Asalamu Alaykum Ya Imam al-Mahdi (as), May you forgive me for my disobedience towards my 'fathers' and my 'mother' though I am not worthy of calling her mother, I am not one of her sons.. May I be forgiven for my sins, O Allah. I can say though, that I love Bibi (sa).. I wish it was enough, I wish. May you be comforted in the heavens with the presence of your father (saww) next to you. Asalamu Alaykum Ya Fatima. http://www.al-islam.org/gracious/
  6. Salam 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh I cannot stress how much benefit you will get from reading this book: http://www.al-islam.org/elixiroflove/ I beg you all to read it, you will not regret it. It will change your life. May Allah s.w.t Bless Shaykh Rajab Ali Khayyat and grant him his love inshallah. I have seen someone else post this book in another thread to do with asceticism, This book doesn't teach you asceticism, it teaches you love. It helps you understand what you have to do to gain the Love of your Creator Allah s.w.t There are many examples I will post a few so you see how amazing this book is; Visiting the Malakut (the Celestial Kingdom)! . Visiting the Malakut of the heavens and the earth with the eye of the heart is a prologue to attaining the high status of intuition of certitude. . (So also We show Abraham the power and the laws of the heavens and the earth, that he might (with understanding) have certitude.) (Al An'am: 75) . The Holy Prophet (s) is quoted as saying: . "If it were not that devils are dominant over the hearts of human beings, they would be witnessing the Malakut." All those who have been delivered from the snares of nafs and Satan, by tearing apart the heart's veils, are able to observe the Malakut of the heavens and the earth, and to bear witness to the Oneness of the Sacred Essence of God. . (There is no God but He: That is the witness of Allah, His angels, and those endowed with knowledge...) (Ale Imran: 18) . One of the Shaykh's disciples related: 'I asked the late Haj Muqaddas whether the following hadith attributed to the Holy Prophet (s) is correct: . ."If it were not that devils are dominant over the hearts of human beings, they would be witnessing the Malakut." He answered: 'Yes.' . I asked: 'Do you see the Malakut of the heavens and the earth? . 'No, but Shaykh Rajab Ali Khayyat does!' He replied. . Here is another amazing part from the book; . What have you done for God's Sake? . One of the Shaykh's children related the following account: 'One day my father and I went to Bibi Shahrbano. . On the way we ran into an ascetic, and my father asked him: . "What has been the outcome of your (ascetic) self-discipline?" . The ascetic bowed down and picked up a stone from the ground. The stone turned into a pear and he offered it to my father, saying: 'Here you are, help yourself! . My father cast a glance at him and said: . "You did this for me, let me know what you have done for God?!" Hearing this, the ascetic burst into tears!; .. Once again I will say I cannot stress the importance of reading this book, it will change your lives, If you cannot be bothered to read it just read a few pages, it is not like an ordinary chapter book where you sit reading for hours, it is just many different bits of advice and examples that happened in real life that will help you leave the love of the Dunya and love nothing save Allah s.w.t . I really hope you decide to read the book and inshallah it benefits you.
